  • The process of discovering and climbing K7, in 2003-2004, is my most cherished mountain experience. In this presentation I share the first half of that journey, the 2003 expedition which includes a solo first ascent of Hajji Brakk (circa 6,000m) and three attempts on K7 main (6,942m). The 2004 expedition is covered in the April 9, 2020 Zoom Hangout.
    Note that I forgot to press record during the orginal Zoom Hangout on March 31, 2020. I re-recorded this at home on April 7, 2020, and tried to simulate speaking to a live audience.

    Thanx a lot for that great storytelling. Already read all your books & followed your climbs. Now I finished all my workout at home, the kids are fast asleep and I can catch up with some inspiration. Looking forward for part 2. Greetz from Germany/frankenjura! Flo.

    For an hour I completely forgot that there was a pandemic happening. Until you mentioned it at the end and broke my trance.

    Hey I am from Pakistan, just entering into the filed of mountaineering and finding a video like this is such a huge thing to me,
    Thank you Steve for this valuable talk, just want to know if we need proper rock climbing training to attempt these kind of peaks or what type of training do we actually need for these mountains??

    • @UphillAthlete
      @UphillAthlete  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For these types of climbs you have to be an expert in rock climbing, ice climbing, and mountaineering. A good text book to start with is the American book titled "Freedom of the Hills"
