  • Steve went into his archive of seldom-told tales to come up with a story of adapting to unexpected risks and circumstances. How did an attempt on Masherbrum lead to two of the best ascents of his career, on two different peaks? Join him and the Uphill Athlete community to listen in.
Chat will be on throughout for ample Q and A.

Thank you Steve, your words are reassuring during this time. There's no one I'd rather hear stories from!

Love you brother! Thanks. I didn't get to tune in live but watched every minute. Indeed. We are all in this together. See you in person soon enough. JoJo

This was great Steve. After reading Steve Swenson's Karakorum it was great to get some imagery of the process in your expeditions!

Thank you, Steve. It was an incredible story and really lifted my spirits. It also taught me a lot about expedition planning. And now i'm going to plan my next one on my own, just the way you did. Thanks a bunch. Warmly

    Thanks for doing this.
Just as an aside, the quote you started at around 0:40 seconds in is from Pema Chödrön. She is an American Tibetan Buddhist nun and the quote is from her book Comfortable with Uncertainty. Can highly recommend her writings.

Great idea! Timing didn't workout to watch this live, but I enjoyed watching it later in the day.

I'm looking at the mountain from base camp like "how they gonna get there? There's like 50 mountains in the way." Welp, my pfc is uncannily accurate- I'm definitely no mountaineer.

So many untouched valleys and peaks in Pakistan, unfortunately few peaks in the world are climbed again and again instead of exploring something new

$50,000 to climb the Britney Spears of mountains and wait in line hoping you don't die like it's literally the only mountain in the world. So silly.

Just a quick question: what types of medication if any to mitigate risk of altitude sickness and at what stage(s) of expedition if so? Any information on this would be appreciated
