the moving aspect of this is because of the experience along the way. the end of such a masterpiece really does most of the moving, knowing you will never play it for the first time again. the music just adds some finishing touches.
the goosebumps i get all over my body when I hear this. Such a perfect send off for 3d mario games on the wii. I'm still praying the 3d mario for the switch 2 is going to be galaxy 3 or universe. This music is just so amazing. The beginning is perfect and that center bridge makes me cry. Nintendo truly was in their prime wit hthese games
I've been in many symphonic bands, and I can very easily and happily say, these guys are true musicians of their instruments, and the composer is truly passionate about life.
This is my favorite game of all time, and the music in this game is simply breathtaking. Words cannot describe how much this piece has inspired me and brought a smile to my face. Such an overlooked treasure. (:
A gorgeous soundtrack. Just close your eyes and imagine all the worlds you've visited. What a grand and fantastic adventure it was! And finally: Be proud of yourself, because: YOU DID IT!!!
I still remember getting this game on a Christmas so many years ago. I was still a Mario nut, and Mario Galaxy 1 was easily my favorite game. Getting this made me so ecstatic, and I can still remember my squeaky voice saying “Thank you so much, mom!” The game lived up to and exceeded my child brain’s expectations. This music just makes me feel so happy, triumphant, and nostalgic all at once. It is one of those few video game songs that can tear me up. I’d say it’s a perfect sendoff song to my childhood.
A million thanks to Charles Martinet for voicing the bros! We will never forget the happy times that you have given us with the signature "Wahoo!" and we all just want to say: Thank you so much for to voicing Mario, Luigi, Wario, Waluigi, and even Baby Mario and Baby Luigi!
About a month after this video was uploaded (Aug 2010) I started kindergarten. Tomorrow I start my senior year of high school, and this remains as the greatest game of all time (right before Super Mario Galaxy)
I heard it, but as a flutist, the key presses aren't that loud and from all the brass and other noise going around it, I think it was just buggy audio. Nice ears though!
SMG is better, even without the nostalgia. Something's just more magical about it. Maybe it's because it's in deep space with those constellations of those power stars and everything, but this song is one of my favorites, and the SMG2 soundtrack is almost as good as it's prequel.
Yea, I agree. It's probably that this game came out when I was four and it was a part of my short 11-year old life, but it brought out so many emotions that it was exhilarating.
This is the soundtrack that brought me to tears. Never have i immensley enjoyed a game and brought to tears when it ended. This is an amazing game and my most favorite game along with super mario galaxy.
So I'm working on an animated show, was randomly watching an editorial of the episode so far, forgetting this playlist was going on in the background and all of a sudden wondered 'Hey, since when did this episode have such EPIC music put in??' Then it started to sound all too familiar :P
This game is my favorite game of all time, and will be forever. The amount it means to me along with the genuine quality and time put into this game makes it an absolute masterpiece. There’s really nothing quite as magical as Super Mario Galaxy 2. I love this game so much, and nothing can ever top it in my eyes. Such a beautiful game. This is Nintendo at its best. The switch era has left me somewhat disappointed with some of Mario’s recent incomplete games, but I can always go back to Super Mario Galaxy 2. The best game Nintendo has ever made.
@@Albert_Pecanio As much as I adore Galaxy 1, it doesn’t live up to the heights of Galaxy 2 in my opinion in terms of level design. I still absolutely love Galaxy 1 as well, it’s right behind Galaxy 2 is one of my favorites of all time.

The Mario Galaxy games are more than games, they're experiences. Super Mario Galaxy 2's not just my favorite 3D Mario adventure, but one of my all time favorite games of all time. When I hear the orchestral soundtrack in either game, it makes me want to tear up. I can listen to Puzzle Plank Galaxy's music and never get tired of it. I felt like the Wii era was Nintendo's peak. I love Super Mario Odyssey, but nothing can ever top Super Mario Galaxy 2. Do agree about the Switch era. It's given me some phenomenal games, but quite a few games either launch with not enough content to satisfy me, or are just very underwhelming.
this game is epic and very complex since at gameplay at design of game including music

I've once seen a speedrun in which the player died in the credits. He used a bee suit to fly very high up in one screen and somehow fell out of the world at the top end.
Some weeks ago I started playing this game for nostalgia, and when i saw the final credits I was about to cry. What a wonderful game and what a wonderful soundtracks!!
The first time I heard this in well, let's say about October 2010 when I finished the game, the minute I heard this I said, "Oh yeah, this fits being the credits music alright."
The violins in 1:56 - 2:24 make this an EPIC remix of The Starship Sails. Which is epic already. In today's day and age, it would have most likely been a DLC deal. And we would have lost this. Thank you, Nintendo, for thinking of this when Video game music had hit Orchestral quality, and no sooner, and no later.
First game had a better staff roll but seriously this is still so damn good. Like give me Galaxy 3 already and let me go here this music live in concert. 😭😭😭💙💙🥺🥺
Why aren't youtubers and streamers playing this underrated gem instead of today's fps regular darker games. This game has so much uniqueness and its own magic, truly an experience worth living, but me, I simply call it the greatest video game of all time. I love you Super Mario Galaxy 2❤
2:55: one of the most beautiful things to ever grace my ears and it was for a game that started out as a guy trying to save a girl from an angry gorilla. God, I love video games.
This may very well never be topped by Nintendo ever again, but that's okay. Keep making consistant, but different...and always creative...games and I will never, ever complain! Ah, the soothing melodies!
The first 18 seconds of this piece is easily one of the most moving and powerful pieces of music I’ve heard in my 20 years as a musician
The SMG/SMG2 soundtracks are incomparable to any other game. A league unto their own
