It's criminal to waste so much water. Pattaya can often have water shortage if rain comes late and reservoirs are low.
Not aiming for people's face is proper Songkran water fight etiquette for safety reasons. If you want to get their head wet, pouring water with a bucket instead. Of course, it's best to prepare appropriately by wearing eye protection since most people dgaf about etiquette and safety. 😅

Looks still like fun but the important thing here: The BIG days for Pattaya are the 18th and 19th or at least it was like that before C19. Beach road closed, huge stages, foam parties, DJs etc. Hundreds of thousands coming down from Bangkok on the 18th and party starting at 10am. And on the 19th then up north in Naklua.
Strange Songkran last year was insane every single day especially the main day
Pattaya songkran is ALOT more chilled than bangkok..bangkok was absolutely mayhem couldnt move for the amount of people..bangkok was abit too much
not for me, personally. the place I'd want to be is 5th floor balcony, and still wear rain gear and hold an umbrella to deflect the spashes. at least Thais give some cultural meaning to all this. I give them credit for that.
