Thank you Dave for the video and your narrative. I'm a country boy(rural upstate NY) now living in southern CA. My large extended family on both sides were all farmers, and there were a lot of Oliver's parked in their sheds. I first learned to drive on a 77 row crop in late 50's. Your county display of tractors and antique equipment was exceptional. I wish I could have been there to feel, touch, and smell it. Thank you for your videos, and refusing to let the past die and be buried.
@@crazydave4455 some day! Some day I'll have more then one... 2... Oliver's. For now I have what I can keep sheltered and busy. Give it some time, some more land, maybe a new building!
One uncle had an Allis 45 (hated the hand clutch) and Roto-Baler. I hated those round bales. They were hard to stack on a wagon and hard to stack in a barn, often slipping off the elevator. A bale hook was mandatory, but once I got the hang of it, bale hooks were the best no matter square or round bales. Great exhibit of Olivers. Another nice video.
Thanks for coming by. I’m way behind on my watching, the poor air quality finally drove me into the house tonight. I did catch some of the live tonight. 👍
At 7:03 in the video there's one place that looks like the farmer wrote 9:60am... That just proves what I've thought all along... time did move slower back then! LOL, ;-) That old stuff is awesome, love to see it all on display and lovingly taken care of like that. We need to keep preserving that old history for the future. I don't know how prevalent Oliver's were in my part of the country (mostly John Deere and International here) but, I remember seeing one when I was growing up and I've loved them ever since.
That is a nice size show, just big enough to have a nice variety of equipment, and not overwhelming with too much to see, like some of the real big shows. Nice job on talking about the equipment, this always makes videos more entertaining and informative.
Thanks Mr.O this a just a small piece of a bigger traditional county fair, still a lot of work. Tried to keep it moving a long, I could talk a long time about old equipment 🤣
I was a slacker this year and didnt do any displays, but I had displays at our biggest show here in the PNW for 22 years in a row. It is a lot of work, but very rewarding, and it is great to talk to others with the same interests.@@crazydave4455
We like threshing, as we usually thresh with our 1924 McCormick Deering thresher and our Farmall F20, but they werent sure if a show was going to happen, so we took out some parts of the thresher for some minor repairs, then at the last moment they decided to have the show, but we were not able to get the repairs done in time. Always next year ! @@crazydave4455
Man I wish my county fair looked like that... Our tractor show consists of most of them in work clothes, but the ones that are painted up are usually rare pieces of tractor history. Chris Ledoux made that video that much better.
This is one of the better fairs around, a bit of a drive for me. They have a bunch of different grandstand events, the club has a separate antique tractor pull here, that brought 134 hooks this year. People still want the traditional.
OMG, those dates written on the drill! I love finding personal things like that. Every time I’m uil something-coffee table, garden shed, whatever-I always write my name and date on it.
You should see the walls in the old farm garages 😂 have the service records of cars from 60 years ago. It is pretty need to compare the planting dates year to year.

Thanks for nice comment. If you ever take a late summer trip, MN has a lot of great threshing shows!
Love it! I can't help but get giddy over the Super 88 diesels with the red rims and yellow grill. one of my bucket list tractors that's for sure!
They are around, I’ll help you find one 😁
@@crazydave4455 I'm looking at a 770 in a couple weeks. No one can have just one Oliver though! It will get lonely! Thank you
@@BillTheTractorMan that’s why we have 8 🤣 looker at the later series? They are sweet chore tractors

Does look like 9:60, I paused and zoomed in and it looked more like 9:50. We do what we can to preserve history. 👍
Thanks for sharing Dave! That was cool 😎
Thanks Shane. The old stuff is fun. That 2255 would do real well in the hills you have. 😁
@@crazydave4455 oh that would make that cat bark
