I live near an Amish community in Kentucky. After I had a heart attack they asked what I wanted to do. I said i didn’t know. They said we think you should build a new shop at the bottom of the hill. Bigger and easier to work in. I bought the materials. They brought the manpower to build and the woman power to feed. In four days (4!!) they finished a 4,000 sq foot building!! Everything except the electrical. Done in the dead of winter freezing cold. Kids, young men , old men. Everyone just knew what to do!! What a blessing. I’m their volunteer ambulance now whenever anyone needs to go to hospital night or day. I feel life has gotten better and better. That’s neighboring. Anybody anywhere can do it. Put God first then help your neighbor. You won’t regret it!
Saw the Amish community many years ago in HoneyBrook, PA when an Amish farmer's barn was struck by lightening and destroyed by fire. Within a week this family had a brand new barn including a new foundation, larger than what they lost. Youngsters also had jobs tom. do, the ladies fed the entire crew 3 meals each day. What an experience to watch this community come together for the benefit of one family in their community. Really inspiring.
This is what communities should look like. 😢 sad no one acts like this anymore. I have a lot of respect for the Amish communities, especially after 2020.
I completely agree. I was born and raised in Lancaster County, and I have seen this so many times. There are a few reasons why they are able to do this. Although permits are required for this type of construction, the local governments pretty much just issue them or ignore them because they know the quality of work that the Amish do. You will never see an OSHA inspector on one of these job sites. They know better.
Our decline is social media, wasting time communicating with people far away that have no real value in our lives. Smart phones are to blame also. If the internet died one day, communities would grow and we would connect more with the people around us.

14 years old, living in Buck in Lancaster County. Sat and watched a barn raise out of the dirt in a day near the foundry. Seeing that entire community rally together to get that done changed something in me. I had never seen so many people that didn't need told what to do. Everyone had a place and everyone instinctively knew what needed done. Truly impressive.

I live in Ontario Canada and the Amish have been buying up farms and vacant farm land in our area and within a month have a full blown working dairy farm. It's amazing to watch how fast they can get it done. It took one neighbor a year to get their house built, yes just a house. It's great to see the Amish as our neighbors and they are using the land for what it is meant for. We have other neighbors from the city moving out here and they just let it go to weeds because they don't want the smells or anybody bothering them.

I grew up with neighbors of similar values. I never thought twice about lending a hand on their farm, nor did they to my family growing up in the ‘70s and 80’s. Those times are long gone! Can’t find help anymore, get flipped off by racing cars everyday while moving equipment from one field to the next. Etc. etc. This country, let alone the world, will have a huge wake-up call soon, sad to say. It’s not going to work in this trajectory.

The whole of the Communities coming together is a testament and inspiration to all of us. Look after our neighbours and our neighbours will look after us.
One thing's for sure: The Amish aren't afraid of heights.
The Vintage Rd farm is in my childhood neighborhood i know the folks just wondering what started the blaze. I so appreciate the videos of the amish community
For you to share this effort is very special. Thank you for letting us realize this.
i counted at least 80 people on deck, but i am sure i missed a few. i want to thank you for sharing this rebuilding of not just a barn, but the lives of the family who experienced the fire. i am certain that there is no non-plain community that would work as hard as the men in this video and they do not work for pay, but from the love they carry in their hearts. thanks again for sharing.
Thank you so much for watching. I counted around that number too. Hard to do when they’re moving!
Absolutely amazing! I’m a farmer, and it would take me years to get demolition permits, hazardous waste permits, pocket gopher permits, endangered plant permits, materials, labor, etc. these days. It never used to be this way!
I would love to be involved with one of their projects like this, but fear being mere English I wouldn’t keep up! Absolutely fantastic!
Their building skills have always amazed me! Ive personal watched them move huge barns, and construct massive post and beam barns and houses in record time. This really shows what team work is all about.
Well done to this respectable community.
If only the whole world could be so caring and helpful. Teach the world contentment and to see the beauty of life.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!
All In 13 Days!!! THAT Is What
COMMUNITY Is All About!!!

In Germany, it takes 6 months for everything to be clarified with the insurance company. Nothing happens before that.
Here, the Amish just pull everything up again in 2 weeks! You are only strong in a group.
My greatest respect!

Wow. The amount of teamwork and dedication going on here is incredible. Whoever was the foreman of all this deserves a medal. What a feat of work.
