Tremendous, tremendous, tremendous Mr. Popkin. Well done to say the least. About George and John's parts - amazing. John's chord choices and arpeggios are simply other-worldly.
Agree 100%! I also think that the chord progression he plays when McCartney sings “came true today” is a variation of the progression he played during the middle of Badge by Cream, and a variation of the chords played at the beginning of Ringo’s “It Don’t Come Easy “
Amazing work. George’s playing on Abbey Road is next level. I’m impressed how you nailed the tones. The Deco really does that tape modulation sound wonderfully
Can't stop listening to this. Something about this track's guitars has always spoke to me, and hearing you playing it perfectly in isolation is just magical. Thank you.
What amazes me the most is how simple their music seems to be and maybe actually is composition-wise. As if one could make such songs like a factory, all the hooks and patterns are evident. And still noone is able to. Thanks for another excellent cover.
One of my favourite beatles songs... such a sublime track. Paul's amazing melodies and singing... john and george's guitars and angelic backing vocals, and ringo providing the perfect beat. What a song.
Holy man i’m blown away.. A lot of this was stuff I had kind of guessed and figured out after listening a lot, like the “One sweet dream…” section. But the solo and “out of college” section I had so many misinterpretations that you made me realize! Great job as always this is freaking amazing man keep it up!
Absolutely sick. It's so dumb how the Hey Jude story gets talked about way more than the countless times G and P were in perfect harmony. An incredible, loving guitar part for a Paul at his peak song
@@afonsobarradas6036 paul telling George not to play guitar on Hey Jude. Was a sore spot in their relationship. But with You Never Give Me Your Money there was more camaraderie
My theory was always that Paul was letting George do more guitar like this on abbey road because the group was on the ropes and he had to give George more creative freedom t keep the band together. (I could be wrong). Love it either way.
I would enjoy so much more if I wasn't always singing along very loudly - amazing work Sam! This is such a great way for me to fill in those blanks from childhood that the chord book just could not translate and only adds to genius of the Beatles!
That fuzz trick is very much something Jimi Hendrix also used live all the time. With a strat or a casino it creates a lovely almost sparkly sound when the volume is low.
According to Andy Babiuk "Beatles Gear: The Ultimate Edition All The Fab Four’s Instruments From Stage To Studio 1956-1970 There were two people using an Arbiter Fuzz Face in 1969.one was Jimi Hendrix who used it at Woodstock and George Harrison on the "Get Back Session and Abbey Road sessions" in 1969
It's like hearing a new song honestly. Eye opening how well not only how intricate the songs really are but also to how well you're researching for us to provide quality and accurate videos.
i'm also a musician/artiste and have always wondered who exactly played the leads on this tune. we all know THE BEATLES never had distinct roles in the studio.
This is probably my favorite Beatles song and I love how it starts the "medley" and the reprise of it with orchestration in during "Golden Slumbers". You really nailed the guitar parts and I'm especially impressed that you got those beautifully low soulful licks that are nearly buried under the original production starting about 1:49, during the bridge. Spectacular! It's like hearing the song again for the first time when I was a kid in 1969. Look forward to looking at your other vids. Thank you.
YOU NAILED IT MY FRIEND! YOU HAVE AN AMAZING EAR! Many others on YT who do these Beatle tutorials, not so much. I'm a 66 year old Beatles aficionado (especially with McCartney) and I too play Beatle parts (guitar, piano and bass) to a high degree of accuracy. I am VERY critical of TH-cam Beatle song tutorials but you get an A+++ on this. Very nice indeed, I'd even go so far as to say perfection. Your pull-offs, bends and slides are all spot on. That's where most people flub up. And your guitar FX are as close as is humanly possible. And most importantly, YOU GOT ALL THE NOTES RIGHT! Again, many other YT tutorials just... don't. So, BRAVO to you! BTW, aren't the guitars in this song beautiful?!!! I've loved the guitar parts in this song since I was a teenager. Thanks for posting this, especially for all future Beatle tribute bands. :)
Thank you for the kind words! We are kindred souls in wanting to find the most accurate way to play these songs. I don’t always get it 100% right but am trying. Nice to hear these videos are helpful
In one sence, Harrison WAS a great and capable guitar player. Under McCartney's whip, Harrison was stellar playing Macca's creative brilliance. Macca was the driving force after Brian Epstein died. "C'mon lads, let's go make a record."
Just brilliant - you have the sound/feel exactly. I love Abbey Road and have listened to it hundreds of times.. John Lennon said something like 'We're back to being the 'clever beatles' again (we know and love how he liked to write off Beatles achievements at times) . Well I could listen to 'clever' all day long. So, so talented as a group. The Peter Jackson 'Get Back' didn't focus on Abbey Road, unfortunately (which would have been the best for me) but brilliant to see them towards the end. Thanks for posting.
One of my favorites beatles tune. You could lower the guitar volume, put Paul's voice and say it was the original thing to me and I'd not notice LOL. Great job, Sam!
Managed to find an uploaded acetate on a collection of bootlegs of the unedited take 30, but couldn't heard John's playing until you pointed out that he did play live in the recording. What I like most about that bootleg is how the breakdown at the end turns into a 12-bar blues jam. It's a fun bit of chaos that'll bring a smile to anyone fortunate enough to obtain a copy of it.

Tremendous, tremendous, tremendous Mr. Popkin. Well done to say the least.
About George and John's parts - amazing. John's chord choices and arpeggios are simply other-worldly.
For me, this has to be George Harrison's best lead guitar work ever. He improved so much by the time he played on this album, it's astonishing.
Great job. George Harrison might be the most tasteful guitarist who ever lived.
Agree 100%! I also think that the chord progression he plays when McCartney sings “came true today” is a variation of the progression he played during the middle of Badge by Cream, and a variation of the chords played at the beginning of Ringo’s “It Don’t Come Easy “
@@thomaswood8167 Sounds right, and is definitely the same arpeggio style in all 3.
He is
Yeah but it should be mentioned that Lennon plays the last solo
@@hanymgamalactually George played all the solos on this one
Your best cover. Not joking in the slightest. It's ACTUALLY PERFECT.

Agreed!
If I had to pick my five favorite Beatles songs, this song would be on the chart. It's wonderful, it never bores me
Amazing work. George’s playing on Abbey Road is next level. I’m impressed how you nailed the tones. The Deco really does that tape modulation sound wonderfully
Thanks!
It's so cool how this song feels like it transitions to a new song every 30 seconds. I agree with the other commenter; your best cover!
Thanks! ❤️
It’s kind of similar to sgt pepper or bohemian rhapsody in that way. I love how varied it is
Prog rock before prog rock!
Great tone... to the point that I was shocked when the bass didn't come in at 0:47 .
Can't stop listening to this. Something about this track's guitars has always spoke to me, and hearing you playing it perfectly in isolation is just magical. Thank you.

Geez, Sam - if anything was ever played note perfect, that was it! Truly awesome work!

That fuzz trick is very much something Jimi Hendrix also used live all the time. With a strat or a casino it creates a lovely almost sparkly sound when the volume is low.
Yes! Jimi was the king of that. Also brian may who did that with his treble booster

The genius of The Beatles especially of George's guitar work.
Really love this song and im glad that you've done it
