In Malay the stress most often occurs on the second last syllable. This will help you to pronounce Kinabalu correctly. KinaBALLu. In the section where you comment on the multiethnic population you have confused Malaysian and Malays. Malaysian refers to citizenship and Malay to an ethnic group. All Malays are Muslims whereas Malaysians practise a variety of religions. Lastly you refer to the country in which the old Hollywood movie is set as Malaysia. Malaysia did not exist until 1963. It’s not just a change of name but a whole new federation when the Federated States of Malaya, Singapore, Sarawak, and North Borneo (Sabah) formed the new country of Malaysia.
As of the 2020 Population and Housing Census, 63.5 percent of the population practices Islam; 18.7 percent Buddhism; 9.1 percent Christianity; 6.1 percent Hinduism; and 2.7 percent other religion or gave no information.
Our language, Malay borrowed many words from English. However, English borrowed one word from Malay - "amok". You know what that means. Speaking about words, words are pronounced as they are spelt (like Spanish, I think). So, Mulu (the cave) is pronounced "Moo loo".
Msia is a very interesting place in the past n current present time.We hv undergone many political n social affairs during colonial times n after independent. It was a joy moment the country hs always been in peace n at the same time remembered the nostalgic moments living in the past😊
@@andrewtaylor4558 Rubber production for one. Rubber tree plantations still exist but Malaysia is a minor player and nowhere close to third largest producer. Almost all plantations have been switched to deeply damaging oil palm. The tiger is a Malayan tiger, not a Malaysian tiger. The rotating kingship doesn't work like you suggest. Of the nine sultans, a number will not want to be put forward to be king due to the required time commitment and need to be away from home. These are usually those that are old, or young and have families. As you say, blame the internet. Keep up the great videos.

Jimmy Choo only makes ladies shoes, not for men, unless you cross dress !😅
😂
There is also the smallest round about in the world in Malaysia...... if you want to know.
🤔
If you were looking at the screen, you would have seen that I corrected myself when I said Malaysian when I meant Malay.
I think there are more than 68 km of highways
The correction was on the screen! 😂
As of the 2020 Population and Housing Census, 63.5 percent of the population practices Islam; 18.7 percent Buddhism; 9.1 percent Christianity; 6.1 percent Hinduism; and 2.7 percent other religion or gave no information.
Thanks
One very important criteria for me to retire in Malaysia is that Malaysia is probably the only real democracy in South East Asia and has rule of law
Good point! 🤗
Have you visited any paddy fields in Malaysia?
Nope but seen them.
Roti Canai is the best bread in the world
Yep
What is the name of the song that you use in the introduction to your video?
It’s just a clip from iMovie.
@@andrewtaylor4558 Thanks. I am sure that there must be a name for it.

I guess most caucasian dont eat fish because they always complain about food that has that 'fishy' taste. Correct me if Im wrong.
I like fish but fish sauce took time. Love it now 😊
😂
I don’t know. Most people like fish I think. Not me tho. 😂
Retired to Malaysia? I don't have money to buy air-conditioners and to pay the monthly electricity fee.
My electric costs less than $100 a month. 24/7
Ever hear of Singapore? Go there, work hard, save your money, then come back to Malaysia.
Live in cameron highland or genting highland.Use fan will do.
Doesn’t like the fishy taste. Well well well.
😂
Our language, Malay borrowed many words from English. However, English borrowed one word from Malay - "amok". You know what that means.
Speaking about words, words are pronounced as they are spelt (like Spanish, I think). So, Mulu (the cave) is pronounced "Moo loo".
And orang utan
Orang : people
Hutan: jungle
Msia is a very interesting place in the past n current present time.We hv undergone many political n social affairs during colonial times n after independent. It was a joy moment the country hs always been in peace n at the same time remembered the nostalgic moments living in the past😊
The King is wonderful and useful and never retires. Malaysia have the status for you to be useful and heaven on Earth "SALAM."
Nice stories but some of you facts are way off.
Like what?
@@andrewtaylor4558 Rubber production for one. Rubber tree plantations still exist but Malaysia is a minor player and nowhere close to third largest producer. Almost all plantations have been switched to deeply damaging oil palm. The tiger is a Malayan tiger, not a Malaysian tiger. The rotating kingship doesn't work like you suggest. Of the nine sultans, a number will not want to be put forward to be king due to the required time commitment and need to be away from home. These are usually those that are old, or young and have families.
As you say, blame the internet. Keep up the great videos.
