THE STEP THAT PGR WAS NEEDING, people were already reaching a level of boredom in the game because most of the modes were just pure meta rotation and dps, but now with this new mode that doesn't matter, what matters is how well you play with the characters.
i hope they rebalance characters in this mode or nerf QU because she is too broken even by gen 2 standard people with qu are able to obliterate mask risk babel in only 34 seconds which is absolutely insane
Ive also noticed that PGR is more about DPS check than it is skill, not saying their isnt skill involved. But due to the game is built around timers, it makes it DPS Gray Raven. Games like DMC never give you a timer unless its a specific mode. Most of the time players who are decicated will try to orchestrate a cool cinematic looking fight cuz at the end of a day its a action game. Im a firm beleiver that well placed attacks and positioning shows more mastery at the craft than swinging a thousand times in lightning speed. Newbies fumble and swing wildly, a master can beat you with just a well placed strike or two. that is the essence of skill/mastery that shows refinement, technique and dicipline so im glad Kuro is diving into it.
Timers are pretty much required in gacha games because that's how they get you to want to pull for strong characters. Comparing it to a single player game is not a good idea.
PGR is largely a single player game, sure it has coop but it isnt the main part of the game. DMCV has coop too but i dont ever hear much about it for the very reason that the single player action is the main sauce.@@RanRan_11

So basically this is like the Devil May Cry -like scoring system that is previously implemented among Trancendants, I'm not gonna be sure if the Rank system gives you slight utility buffs as the Score Ranking on the middle left of the screen goes bigger, but ehh... This gamd mode is specifically designed to make your gameplay look cool and it succeeded, anything else is just some added bonus, but for now as it is, it's already looking great
Yeah this mode is definitely based off of DMC's style system, we finally got SMOKING SEXY STYLE!! in PGR, Kuro Games are the most motivated devs for Gacha Games ever lol, this mode will definitely help players with their dodges and timings as well as getting a cool and enjoyable gameplay that isn't time based
It's fvcking cool ngl, like the close-ups, you can really appreciate their hardwork they did on the character's movesets! And it's purely skill-based mode! No DPS check, just pure styling!!! Ahh crying in Global 😢 It's really a good feature also for showcasing the beautiful coatings of PGR!! 👍💯🥂
It's so promising. PGR is a spectacle fighter, but I never stopped to ponder about the fact that we don't get to enjoy the spectacle by only focusing on speed. I'm also hoping for them to force us to use tanks/supports/amplifiers as well as A-ranks and Uns.
Finally, the mode where we can appreciate how good their models and animations work together right during the combat. Small details, like dAren moving her hands around the hammer after the spin instead of just lazily switching animations, are pure gold, but only visible when you get slowdown during victory.
Really hope they continue to expand on this mode too given the reception. Being able to showoff the intricacies of each character without having to worry about dps is a welcome change of pace. Wuthering needs something like this too at some point to really focus on the combo potential they have in that game. While it’s important to keep an eye on competition they need to look inwards and compete with themselves too.
only 4 mins in and I'm already loving it. I've always loved doing stylish combos on games that allow them but sadly in gachas like pgr and hi3, you hardly get to do them because you're doing optimal runs, animation cancelling and rushing for those high score.
Bro a thing i loved when i first tried out Selena playing her for free in recitativo was how she played her flute in her penultimate attack, and if you cancelled her basic attack string there she would almost stumble and fall and recovering her balance on the last second, that animation was so charming i kept doing it while playing her in Recitativo just because it gave a whole other layer of personality, I'm so glad people may be able to see more of those kinds of animations including myself.
This is something I have been wanting too, it gives a reason to use older characters if they can let you use characters at their peak performance. Looking forward to the videos if they do indeed make this permanent.
Actually really excited for this mode and I genuinely hope Kuro keeps adding to it with more if the "stylish" bosses and the rest of the constructs. Especially love that the bosses have a chance to use all thier attacks. I'd never seen that time stop enrage attack from Projection since she typically gets nuked too fast. Caught me off guard when I saw people posting clips of this new gamemode.
For me, in the current PGR, the only time when I can fully appreciate the quality of animations and character design is 3 seconds of slow-mo after the fight. I look at the orbs and energy more than the enemies or the character.
It's the first time I've seen a certification program to become a flashy player. As time goes on, I think PGR's players soon will become perfectionists. Basically the whole playerbase might become a group of elites who strive to become the pinnacle of action gaming. Hopefully no toxicity comes out of this just because the game mode strive you to be great. All love
Totally joining the permanent mode gang, with a mode like this i can even imagine old frames getting a second life, i adore Selena tempest and just imagining playing her once more in a relevant mode is a dream. I'd argue too that this really is for everyone, my execution is not exactly no hit level, but with something like this that encourages execution over meta spam, i can see myself putting that extra effort to improve.
Am with rexlent on this, sometimes you just wanna enjoy playing the game alot more but most endgame is time limited combat, you dont get to see all the beautiful animations the developers made for the characters now like weave you dont yourself cancelling most of her skills when holding kodachi if am not mistaken the long sword since it's like a heavy blade you find they are slower so cancelling them you dont get to enjoy how beautiful they are and most time you spend doing thunderslams because the contain most of her dps, cant wait to play some of this new mode for sure, also the effects of that skin are so cool, I feel my wallet crying for the first time feel like I must get it
I wish we can also select a specific soundtrack that we want. Also having a badge system like gabriel in coop or a badge like in warzone? is a good idea, so we can flex it just by looking at our profile.
What I love about pgr is that you can style on bosses, but with time attack modes like bosses off the story... You get oittle time to do such things. Now that they have this mode, it mitigates the stress. I love Kuro for it.

So far the movesets are more basic than modern pgr but that makes sense, not only are these characters "start" ones but they also probably had the main idea of their moveset made even 2 year ago. We'll have to wait to get more recently made, non starting characters to get the better kits and it makes sense for a gacha game to get better stuff on their first or second major patch, the kits will probably get more complicated once the started older batch is over too.

What I've been wanting is some visual meter that tells me how much damage multiplier I have. It's so frustrating and random feeling to no be able to see how correctly I'm playing the character when they all play so freakin' differently.
What happens when you just want to switch between modes for certain gen 2 chars? Alpha has to use ult to get into her other mode and u couldnt get back to her short sword without using the ult. if hyperreal Lee uses his core passive he's forced to use ult by design. So in a way if you want to appreciate a characters kits without being forced to use ultimates, you go with most gen 1 S ranks, and most A ranks.
This mode should be standard, they should also add an option to reduce the visual effects of the game, like how you can with your co-op partners so the game looks less saturated, or remove the matrix effect from the environment whenever it triggers, or straight up change how the matrix behaves, like properly lean matrix towards the parry mechanic, so when you land a parry you get proper slow-mo and a zoom-in on your character for several seconds so you can position yourself for the next move, instead of being able to run around normally at full speed.
I wish PGR has Elysian Realm equivalent mode, where some characters has special moveset and buff specific to that mode so non meta characters gets some use because most of the modes are impossible to complete without meta team ER style game mode would make investing in A ranks and Gen 1 characters more viable

No idea what you're talking about. Most modes can be completed with non-meta teams. Warzone is really the only mode that hard punishes you for not going max meta. Do remember that these modes were around before gen 2 meta existed, and people beat them with old gen 1s and A ranks.
@@AmaitaYume not the same: -CW doesn't let you freely pick your characters it is RNG, You can pick anyone at the beginning in ER as long you have the characters - ER have special unique buffs different for each character for example Bronya HoR lets you use her bike for the whole stage duration you can't do it in normal mode, CW has team buffs but it is only minor damage bonus instead new mechanic

The current time based type of content is exactly why i have been on and off PGR. I have been playing again since balter patch and once again feeling a burn out. The new alpha crimson wave is fun enough for me to keep playing but now almost a month later i've only been doing the dailies and logging out. I'm not even gonna do the Anchor Realm (honestly, it's sh1t mode, in my opimion)
I'm so fucking glad that everyone is agreeing with this, i was so disappointed that 2nd gen characters just made the gameplay a boring loop, i was legit thinking of no longer playing the game since the combat that i fell in love with at game's launch was steering away from rewarding skill.
The one that says already spoiled by 2nd gen gameplay... oh boy me too , my brain to braindead to do max bable and stuff that actually hard. Maybe when it come out on global I give it a go again and gidgud

I really hope they decide to stick with this direction and expand on it, skill and style based modes are what many people are hungry for.
I'm so fucking glad that everyone is agreeing with this, i was so disappointed that 2nd gen characters just made the gameplay a boring loop, i was legit thinking of no longer playing the game since the combat that i fell in love with at game's launch was steering away from rewarding skill.
