    We had one of these, a silver one too and a red VH still got Peter Brocks business card the luxury of growing up in a Holden dealership

    my favourite cars are the VK and a VE SSV, 2 of the best looking cars GMH ever built they make great race cars

      Love the VE we have them in the states the G8 is awesome but become expensive

    Yes, you can use the shroud & fan from the A/C 6 cylinder donor.
    The fuse box, engine bay and dash wiring from the donor will also swap over - only the engine harness is different.
    Some A/C wiring is present in the main loom, but is left unused. You’ll need the extra bits for the condenser fan etc. just a tip - a VR/VS V8 condenser fan just fits in a VK and is far more effective than the VK one.
    If you can’t get a V8 engine harness, you can make your own from the 6 cylinder one - one plug near the booster, the other in the passenger floor. Make sure you keep the detent switch loop and reverse switch wiring from the trans (from the blue car) to plug into the donor harness.
    I like that you’re going to the effort of fixing it properly and not just reshelling it. I’m looking forward to more videos. Nice work so far.

    🥝✔️ What a great engine...EFi heads, great intake, Holley 650 4bbl...good base to work back into life

      So she might have to go to 40 over to clean up the bores and while we are at it we are going a slighter warmer than the warm flat tappet cam but going roller conversion

    Good to see you back in the land of Oz mate. Great score on the VK, that’s my favourite Commodore and the motor looks to have the fuel injected heads. I had a 308 4 speed ex highway patrol car and loved it. I was doing 110km/h on a back road in NSW when a cop went past me. He quickly turned around and pulled me over for speeding. He came up to the car window and we started chatting, I told him that it was an ex highway patrol car and he started telling me some stories about back in the day with the VK. After lifting the bonnet for him to drool over the 308 he just gave me a caution and sent me on my way. I can’t remember how many VK’s I’ve owned over the years but always wanted a blue meanie

      Thanks mate good to be back home!! Fixing her for a mate !! Good story on the cop I did a similar thing in the US speeding and when they cop heard my accent he told me he came here on holidays we chatted and he let me go 😂

    Good timing, I’m restoring a VH so I can follow along. Are you by any chance going to use the A/C setup off the donor car?? I’m chasing one.

      We are mate! main reason on buying the doner was the wiring the AC and the rad support but I’ll keep an eye out mate !!

      @@Trifiveguy I’ve bought a vintage air but I’m considering going to original. Mine is a SL without A/C. Vintage air should be fine though.

      Well it all depends on the engine builder but next week the wiring AC and dash is starting to go back in ,
      the engine will need honing or possibly 10 thou bore to 40 thou so really it up to the engine builder to get that part sorted I’ll continue to work on it till it time for me to leave I’m still in Australia another month I reckon
