I'm really looking forward to seeing the reaction at SEMA! I think it's going to be a star for the same reason it's such a challenge. Because it's so hard to stand out with an OBS. I think it will standout even more than usual because it is such a radical departure.

Just got a new t shirt design showcasing the Reaper- BTM!!!!
As a fabricator, the roof challenge would piss me off. But, in the end, I would appreciate the challenge ,and appreciate the vision of the boss.

Not gonna lie, the panel roof thing is fucking amazing. That will be the wow factor in the build, because it looks like it will look absolutely factory. That's something no one else has done.
Josh has sure come far from FIRED UP GARAGE,with the last GMC Richard had,he looked so so young with that crew
I was thinking the same thing,he became more personal and great work ethic. Wife family etc.
He showed his stuff early on at the "FIRED OUT" Garage- why Richard took him to GMG. Those boneheads that failed with Thomas "weaks" didn't have the stuff and couldn't handle Rich's vision and work ethic. -look where they could be now if they weren't lazy (Tom Smith) or ignorant (Jordan and Scott-who ended up quitting Fired Up) Yeah I heard Tom and Jordan were set up to be at Fired up garage through making of the show but why did it not turn out to go on for future? R.R. most likely with all his endeavors saw it wasn't worth it and why he continues to go on and work on new adventures-and make a name and fortune for himself but not stick with something that will not work out. Try and Try again......SLICK RICK!!!
His only problem is that he laughs at stuff that’s not even funny but he’s not done it on camera much recently and his welding isn’t the best so it’s a good job it’s not tested for any weaknesses.someone once told me that a pretty weld isn’t necessarily a good weld but i said if it looks right it will be right.

Richard, I've been a fan of yours for a long time. And it's been great to see you not only grow Gas Monkey into the outstanding business, it is. But, let me tell you, one of the smartest decisions you've ever made, was hiring Josh!! Not only is he a talented mechanic, fabricator. His skills in front of the camera, is what I enjoy the most. To see a young man that is humble, polite, funny, and truly passionate about what he does for your business, is great to see. Best hire you've made in a long time. And just so that Mike McCoy doesn't get his feelers hurt, I've got to give props when due. Great painter, funny guy, and an indispensable guy for you.

You guys should talk to Steve Morris up in Michigan for your motor. He can build a 4,000hp. And more power plant. Almost every part is done in house.

Doing a see through piece in the hood to go with the roof would be cool, Like a better version of what they did with the c6 zr1 vette but so you can see the whole engine and turbos

In the 80s, we cut our lowrider pickup roof and installed the California Tops. They were a removable tinted polycarbonate one piece removable top. The top and rear window was replaced. When off, only the door window frames remained. Essentially, it was a convertible.

A tinted roof on a black truck may be invisible. Hopefully you light it up so people notice it.

The countdown to SEMA is getting smaller while the list of things to do on the truck is getting longer.
Ive painted alot of chassis's for the city and county on all their service vehicles. The most durable black we e found was ppg essentials single stage gloss black its industrial grade lays out super nice and is diamond tough. Kinda pricey but man you should give it a go I promise it doesn't disappoint
If you can't BUILD IT -- BUY IT. !!!!!!!!

Well.... at least the roof will never fade or rust, right? Good thing you don't have too many tree down there in TX. I know you are using, like, bullet-proof glass or something from your "girl" - because I'd hate for a stone or something to kick up and shatter that thing while it was moving. And no more hanky panky while you're driving... unless you want to give all the truckers (and everyone else) a show. If I'm driving "Reaper", I'm not sure I'm all that eager to be seen - so maybe some nice heavy tint? You ALWAYS represent when you go to SEMA - so - looks like you got a plan to do it again.
