    Got my 2023 Pro 4X a couple of weeks ago. I finally traded in my 2010 Frontier LE. I really like this new truck. The one thing I wish they did differently was the button for the heated seats. Since it's a toggle, the seats don't turn on when you start the truck remotely like the heated steering wheel and heated mirrors do. I wonder if they will update that for 2024 and if they do, could that be updated (for a fee) on my 2023.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  ปีที่แล้ว

      Congrats on the new truck! Good point on the seats. It's warming up where I'm at so I haven't had to use them much, but it would be nice if they went off when the truck turned off. I'm not sure why, but in most vehicles I've had with heated seats, they're always toggles like this. Maybe so if you turn them on in the winter and get out and then come back, they are still "on" so they figure the default for the seats should be to stay on? Not sure, but we'll see what they do!

      @@AllThingsOverlandingYeah, I actually prefer hydraulic steering because you get a better feel for the road. Electric steering is convenient and definitely has its advantages (namely being buttery smooth and feather-light) but from a purely driving experience, hydraulic is the way to go. It’s not obnoxious like manual steering but it’s not as disconnected from the driving experience as electric steering. But, to each their own! We, for the short time being, have options, depending on vehicle right now. (Though I’m sure it’ll go to electric steering exclusively pretty soon).

    Up here in the frozen north, we dont seem to have that button to turn off the auto stop start. Does that mean we can't up here, or maybe we dont have it altogether? I haven't bought a Frontier yet but strongly considering it and just curious about the auto stop start as I wouldnt use it if I could turn it off. It might be a deal breaker if its unable to to be turned off.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a good question. I’m honestly not sure about the Canadian version of the trucks. In late 2023, I think they made it so that you couldn’t turn it off anymore. I believe in the 2024 you also can’t turn it off so maybe that’s why if you’re looking at a brand new truck? I think most automobile manufacturers are being required to do this going forward to meet CAFE standards.

    Such a nice vid. I’m actually getting a Pro 4X but still deciding to get the premium package or no. The big reason is the seat, how do you like the cloth seat in Frontier? Is it comfortable? I heard good things about Nissan leather seat but not sure about the cloth seat. Also because of your vid, I realized that I can get Fender audio separately without the package, thanks for that. How do you like the audio? Is it worth to add $750? Thanks man.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks! And good questions.
      For the cloth seats, they are super comfy. I did a trip from IN to WY a few weeks ago and it was super comfy and nice. I also like that the cloth seats are heated, which is all I really cared about (usually more standard on leather and might have pushed me to upgrade to the leather, but heated cloth was fine with me).
      For the Fender audio, is it worth $750? Probably not on it's own. Could you buy better speakers for that much money? Probably. Where I'm at in my life though, I'm kind of tired of tearing apart all my vehicles and trying to make small improvements like that, even if it can save me $1-200. The Fender audio (in my opinion) is pretty awesome and sounds great and I wanted better audio, but didn't want to spend all the time and effort to replace everything and add a sub. So, would I do it again? Absolutely. Totally worth it.
      Hope that helps but let me know if you have any other questions!

    • @elginwang1572
      @elginwang1572 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@AllThingsOverlanding Thanks for the reply. I probably will go for a cloth seat, I don't really care about the seat tbh. Also, I can save myself $3,000. I will put them in an lift kit. I think that's just more worth it.
      For the Fender speaker, I don't know if you ever experienced OEM audio, is it bad or is it just fine? I use to drive a Jeep and the OEM audio is just so bad, not even ok. I mean some OEM audio from some brands like Subaru is just fine, not bad, not good which I can totally accept it. I don't think Frontier's speaker will be as bad as Jeep, I am just guessing. But if yes, I guess I will have to get the Fender audio lol.
      Thanks again for your info.

    • @AllThingsOverlanding
      @AllThingsOverlanding  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@elginwang1572 The non-Fender audio is fine. Probably better than stock Jeep stuff but the fender is super clear and with the sub, it sounds pretty great. You do lose the storage under your drivers side rear seat as the sun goes there, so just something to think about.

    The driver recline seat moves most of the time when getting out of the truck, 95% of the time I have to fix the recliner seat because it drifts backwards.

    The cost would be only like couple bucks because replacement ones cost $16.
