I just installed this exhaust on my truck. The connection from the MBRP exhaust to the factory Y pipe leaks no matter how I adjust the pipe in the flange. It basically just sit loosely in the flange with no way to create a leak free seal. I installed a 3" exhaust donut gasket and it helped some, but it still leaks.

So I just installed this on my 1500 Silverado, and I used the existing studs on the Y pipe. The kit came with the nuts and bolts, but why are they required?
