No but you will add a step. The main thing you will want to think about is having a good primer, probably oil based or shellac based. So it will add an extra step of foam rolling on that before putting on the high-quality paint. The primer will stop woodgrain patterns from coming through. After you put on the first coat of primer, you can see what the textures like and if you like it or not. Obviously the paint will add extra layer, but you may want to add a second coat of primer if you want it even smoother. Likely a single coat of primer will do enough.
I love green and copper together. In a few weeks, I’ll post the project of us remodeling our floors…wait until you see how the cabinets look with the new floors 😮
Honestly, I liked both colors. The first color that was on the cabinet looked nice and crisp and this one looks a little bit deeper, but I think both of them looked really good.
Thank you for saying that. I totally think we could have kept them the color they were, but now that we’ve redone the floors (video in couple weeks) this new color really pops.
SW Emerald products were on sale this week @ 40% off until the 10th. But good tip: Signing up for their emails (which aren't excessive) will keep you informed about the cycle of discounts they're offering and for what products. Discounts are frequent -- 20, 25, 30, and 40. So if you can wait and be patient, 40 will be back around.
Would I need a different type of paint to do my cabinets that have a wood grain texture?

Run don’t walk! I can attest that Sherwin Williams discounts are frequent. Totally worth signing up!
Why was the hardware under sink not removed?
For this job we didn’t need to remove any of that thankfully. We were able to paint around what was there and leave it be. Thank God.
Great job! Love the richness of the color. Is there a particular sheen you should use? Flat? Satin????
I like satin for a bit of a glow to the color. Flat can be a design look in some more modern spaces but if you’re not careful it can look dull
