Barb - it depends on the brand of quilt soak you buy. They all should have directions on the packaging. I purchase quilt soak from my local quilt shop. It gives directions for the size of the quilt and the amount of soiling you have. It will tell you how much water and product to use as well as how long to soak your quilt.
