  • Hi, Friends! I'm Jessica and thank you for joining me for the 2023 Scrappy Sampler! Today I'm sharing how I make Block 10. If you never made a Dresden plate before, no problem at all! I explain all of the steps in detail and I know you can succeed at this block. Let's make it together!
You can find the pattern for block 8, 9, and 10 here- jessicadayon.bl...
The 2023 Scrappy Sampler is a completely FREE scrappy quilt along that I'm hosting starting December 26th, 2022 and running until April 2023. You can find the details and schedule for the 2023 Scrappy Sampler on my blog- jessicadayon.b...
As I mentioned in the block 1 video, my favorite iron is an Oliso ProPlus SmartIron. Oliso was kind enough to give a discount to my followers! You can get $20 off a ProPlus SmartIron using the code Pro20 at checkout. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could also use my affiliate link (the price stays the same for you but I make a small commission on any purchase you make through my link)- www.oliso.com?aff=100

I'm so happy that I've discovered you. I'm amazed that someone so young knows this technique, but what a blessing for all of us. I own my family's only Dresden quilt, which is about 100 years old! My sisters always drool over the quilt. Perhaps now I can surprise them with a lap quilt or something like that in the dresden style. :-) Thank you so much for taking the time to share your skills and talents with us. God bless you. ❤🙏🏻

Beautiful. I love the block it is so nice. Love your colors as well. Can’t wait to try the bigger ones. The only one I did was for a tiny quilt. And like you said , I was so worried it was going all wonky, but it turned out perfectly. I just took my time. Did just what you did with the smaller one. I made sure it was in lined. Anna did it by hand and it turned out great thank you for sharing. I did pick up some other little handsome things to do to make it lie or not lie but to stitch it better thank you so much. Have a great day.😊

I love Dresden blocks. I have several on cushions or upholstered chairs but I’ve never made a quilt. Maybe I should!! When I sew my blades on to the background fabric I always use a feather embroidery stitch on my sewing machine and I always use batting underneath the plate area so when embroidered it looks 3D. Thank you I enjoyed your video.

Beautiful needlework. I really never thought about it before but I didn't think just one stitch at the time what's the way it was done. LOL I was told 45 stitches on your needle then pull and when I done that quilting none of it was in uniform they were big small medium stitches etcetera... not looking good at all .😪 ,when quilting by hand... thank you, that's such a beautiful Quilt Block as well tasteful and neat . Easier way cut 2 circles plus seam allowance. Right sides together. Sew completely closed. Cut an x in back side of circle to turn circle inside out. Using your crochet hook about your circle. Press. Can clip seam before you turn it which will help it to lay flat better

Wonderful demonstration. I’ve made a few Dresden plates, usually to stop at singles for pillows, but you’ve renewed my love of them, so I may break down and make a throw size one (3x3)
