Jesse talks about the insane story out of Tallahassee, Florida, where a cop named Kiersten Oliver is on her own body cam footage emptying an unopened bottle of liquor onto the ground and can be seen throwing the bottle back into the suspect's vehicle, which she then used as cause to arrest and charge Calvin Riley Sr.

Any cop who turns off his body cam should be dismissed immediately.
THIS!!! Nothing screams “I AM ABOUT TO COMMIT A FELONY!!” so much as turning off one’s body camera, especially when they all agree to do it together. All three should be put in jail-the SAME JAIL that they wanted to send Reilly-not some comfy white collar crime prison. Oh, would they face a hardship? Yeah, maybe they would. Do you think that might be a deterrent? Yeah, maybe it would.
And it happens all the time, with a cam or 2 of them & maybe the victim recording them turning them off - now that's arrogant & stupid.
Remember the police chief in Florida who went to prison a few years ago for telling his officers to arrest innocent blacks to pin unsolved crimes on them. Widespread corruption and oppression against Blacks out their. The question is Why?
I don't understand why they are even able to turn them off. There is no good reason for a bodycam to be off.

Qualified immunity would not apply in this case. Qualified immunity only applies to mistakes cops apply when applying the law. If a cop didn't fully understand a law and in good faith, arrest you, then they get qualified immunity. This cop committed a felony and hopefully the US Government will prosecute her. The victim clearly has a big lawsuit settlement on the horizon either way.

Any time she arrested someone is now suspect as is any time she let someone go. If she was at all involved in an incident involving violent crime and victims that needs to be appealed but people who perhaps actually committed a crime shouldn't just be set loose. I am a black women who grew up in Compton California during the 80s. I am not surprised. We have been complaining about this crap for years, but WE are always told by white people we are crying and it’s not happening. Where’s the dirty part? I always look at this stuff objectively and I don’t see anything in those short clips. The bottle she poured out a was Crown Royal, not vodka. Why aren’t we seeing the entire search? Why hasn’t someone mentioned that the guy did a BOC or Breathalyzer test? I feel like we’re not getting the whole story.

There should be a statutory loss of police license for cops who turn off their bodycam to do this, and statutory compensation to the victim BEFORE TRIAL, on top of the trial judgement.

i think that may be a stretch to get implemented, but i believe turning off body cams should be an affirmative assumption ( if i am using the right terminology ) that something guilty was committed by the cop. for example, they say you are guilty, or at least apply penalties, if you refuse a breathalyzer. if a cop turns off the body cam, the judge should assume that the cop did it to hide something. if the guy has a black eye and a trip to the ER, the judge should assume that the cop did it without justification. if there are drugs found after a search, assume that the cop planted them.
I don't know about it being a felony but it should be criminal bcoz the body camera's are supposed to protect both the officer & the potential suspect. It's white police officers who are abusing the rights of citizens & some black officers are betraying their communities & black ppl while violating the rights of citizens bcoz they are the law.

Hi Jesse. I'm an African-American man, and when I was younger, in my 20's-40 years ago, I was racially profiled by a young white cop simply because I was walking in the street in a white neighborhood with another black guy and a white guy. He followed us slowly and then put the siren on and swerved in front of us to stop us, He jumped out of his car and disrespectfully said "where you BOYS going? He refused to tell me why he stopped us when I asked his reason, and he told me NOT to ask him ANY questions!!! He made us stand out in the street while all of these old white women gathered on the sidewalk looking at us. I was not given an explanation until an older white male cop came and when he said to us "how are you young men doing"? I lost it and I told him that I couldn't understand why he stopped us because he wouldn't answer me, and the young bully cop replied " I STOPPED YOU BECAUSE YOU DON"T LOOK LIKE YOU BELONG IN THIS NEIGHBORHOOD!!!!!!! I've NEVER TRUSTED COPS since then, and now I'm 62. It's a SHAME that still today BLACK PEOPLE and other people of color are still being targeted just because we are black or people of color. My son went through a similar incident growing up. I kind of adopted one of his white friends because he wasn't treated well at home. He and my son were walking and were stopped by the police . My dark skin son was frisked for no reason what so ever. After finding nothing on him, he was released and warned to go home. If he sees him again he'll be arrested for laudering. Trick was on them. The white kid had weed in his pockets. They never searched him.

The studies on it are quite comprehensive and widespread. FYI, I had SWAT send me to the hospital because they cracked my ribs while I was kneeling, facing the wall with my hands in the air. They didn't know who I was and I was not charged with any crime. Wrong place, wrong time.😢 I think what they did was cowardly brutality. But I think (hope) most cops are professionals, not thugs like SWAT was. What the cop on this video digusts me!!

My heart goes out to this gentleman. Tallahassee cops are notorious for their crooked behavior. My older brother was arrested for a crime he didn't commit in Tallahassee. He was convicted and sentenced to Death. After spending 18+ months on death row, he was later exonerated because a jailhouse snitch told the authorities who actually committed the crime. All the crime scene evidence aligned with the men the jailhouse snitch had identified. Tallahassee cops/authorities never admitted that they had made a mistake. I guess it wasn't a mistake : they did what they did on purpose......
I truly don't know how police officers who violate people's civil rights can look themselves in the mirror.
Unfortunately versions of this happens a lot in the workplace. Imagine if that cop is a Supervisor or some high rank person in a workplace - what sort of evaluations would she be giving to minorities? Who gets promoted and who doesn't, and so on.
The most suspicious statement on the Officer's entire bodycam - "is everyone's bodycam off?". They 100% discussed the framing of Riley once the cameras were all off.
I think that constitutes a conspiracy to frame someone.
The court had better throw this case out, and that officer needs to lose her damn job! All of the cases that she has been involved in previously need to be re-examined. How many innocent people have done time, or are still doing time, because of her criminality.

I don't understand what police officers like this get out of making up charges and falsifying evidence. To be willing to destroy another persons life like this is just disgusting. All of her cases need to be reviewed.
Selfishness. Having high arrest numbers is a way to get raises/promotion.

@grmpEqweer That's it. Here in NJ cops led the country in Marijuana arrests. It's very profitable for cities to arrest people even on minor charges. There are all types of fines and penalties to collect. Cops advance their careers on the number of arrests they make.

Well said sir, very well said! The 50' and the 60's are over with. Shouldn't have to say that it was probably going on for DECADES in this country. I'm a white guy who HAS been to Africa. I guess you could call me African American. It wouldn't bother me, but I can really see how this would bother my brothers and sisters who are just darker than me, but bleed RED just the rest of us do.

She didn't say why she stopped him, did she? She opened that bottle and poured the liquid out. You could hear the bottle snap open and hear her pouring. She's trying to get brownie points. They need to sit her down and investigate all her arrests.
The whole department must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law according to the federal rules of the court.
I dont know why if an officer like this gets caught red handed, all of their cases arent investigated free of charge to those arrested by her
