the reason why the speed train access is not close to the city is because the speed train's REL is very special and different from regular trains. automatically it will be difficult to make a new track through the city center and destroy people's houses just to pass through the fast train. actually if you are from Jakarta airport, you only need to take the airport train and get off at HALIM then continue with the fast train. the fast train does not need to go all the way to the airport which would actually be difficult to make a new track, because the direction to the airport is already full of construction. and in the future the fast train will be continued to Surabaya, the city before BALI. actually for the price difference, it is not a matter of worth it or not. but it is a cross subsidy to fulfill travel costs. for those who feel rich, it is better to buy first class, for those who travel because of office work then you are better off using business class because it is paid for by the company. but for me, even though I am not traveling for work, I still choose business class because it is not too crowded and is still in the quiet category. to work on the way it is better to take business class or first class which is more private.

This train won't make profit for 40 years at least according to statistic and plus they need to maintain operation cost. There's still local train goes 38 times per day which is enough not to use hsr unless you are in hurry. Also, they borrowed money to build so technically it's owned by china. Now is still an exciting phase with tons of propaganda so will see the truth in 1~2 years later. then we know what actually happened. Obviously, 1M passengers in 2 month is too low and debts will be built up for sure. For obvious calculation, whoosh making $300,000.00 debts every month.. They focus on speed in many ways instead of the practicality. They shouldn't have compromised to make train station in the cities.
I took a quick look to see if HSR are profitable elsewhere but the general consensus is that transportation is a cost, not something that is always meant to be profitable. That said around the world there are HSR lines that are profitable operationally, but more difficult to find one that's still profitable while burdening the cost of construction and this is where China comes in with its Belt and Road Initiative. That said, I do think HSR as it expands across Java could be much more useful as people will depends less on flights as long as the economy cost is comparable.
@@julesherman6802 Hope this can be a joke but don't they need to pay back to China? How are they gonna pay off the debts if no profit?? If Indonesia built this HSR by themself just for a negative legacy then no profit should be fine.

Haha I know! When I transcribed the video I said rupiah but I figured everyone would know it’s not dollars.
😂😂😂😂😂 no train make profit from selling tickets. Do you think the Eurostar make profit????? What a joke.
If Indonesia built this HSR by themself just for a negative legacy then no profit should be fine.

one word of advice.. why do you youtubers copy each other thumbnail idiocy by posting that open mouth shot.. seriously i have a word for it.. but TH-cam has warn me not to use.. please don't insult people intelligent..
I rarely use it but there is no other expression to convey surprise like this one so I stand by it in this case. But I totally agree it’s an overused expression, which is why you don’t see it in many of my thumbnails.
