    Hello from CA & thanks 4 amazing food adventure in Jakarta! My favorite food is ikan bakar. How much is parrot fish? HeavenWhere did you stay in Jakarta? Is it easy 2 get 2?

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  ปีที่แล้ว

      Jakarta is a major international airport and pretty easy to get to. You can transfer from North America through Dubai, Turkey, Japan and a few others. I believe the parrot fish was $4

    I've been subscribed ever since I started investigating Cuenca as a possible retirement spot. I'm currently in Cusco, Peru after spending 90 days in Colombia. I'll be finishing off my 90 day trip in Peru, and then will be working my way to South East Asia.
    I had intentions of going Ecuador and Bolivia on this trip, but I'm tired of the elevation and the difficulty in finding spicy food. So it's surprising that you're in Indonesia now.
    Thanks for surprising us with the beauty of Indonesia.

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      In Latin America you’ll only find truly spicy food in México and Peru. But I’m so glad you stuck around the channel as I’ll have lots from Indonesia.

    • @ScottYun

      @@ayngelina As I said, I'm in Peru now. I was in Mexico for 5.5 months last year. So I know that both countries have tasty spicy food. My experience with Spanish, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Brazilian and Colombian cuisine tells me that I'm not going to find anything spicy in the rest of the Latin countries. So Asia, here I come.

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was based in Cuba for two years prior to the Pandemic and no you won’t find anything there. It’s also not a place you can find residency without marrying. South East Asia could be a great option for you. I’ll be around for the next while with some other non SEA travel in between.

      @@ayngelina I'm leaning towards setting up a hub in Baguio, Philippines. It's only at 1,500 meters, so the weather is mild year round and no altitude sickness. From there, I can make trips to all the Asian countries with lots of spicy food. I'm looking forward to the different places you'll be presenting.

    • @ayngelina
      @ayngelina  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Philippines isn't spicy at all, less than the Andes. But you're right it does have cheap flights to all the good places.

    Great looking fish you chose.
    I love squid in so many different ways, fried, grilled, bbq'd, breaded and calamari salad!
    There used to be a Chinese restaurant in London, Ontario, Canada that had two different squid dishes that were not modernized to accomadate westerners that were both so amazing both were spicy and came with their own sauce.
