    I still don‘t get why Nissan didn‘t implement a proper charging-management with full temperature-monitoring this time. It‘s a poor protection method after all.

    Biggest advantage the LEAF Plus has in 2020 is being discounted and becoming the value king. I got mine new after incentives and sales tax for $23k. That's for a SL Plus, top of the line. At that price point, in a cool climate, it cannot be beat for value.

    My charging speed for my leaf e+ was 53.5 kW on a 62.5 kW charger. Starting battery's temperature was 31.1°C. It starts trotting down at 67%.

    The Leaf e+ is still hobbled by the fact it still has CHAdeMO. Imagine if the Leaf e+ has CCS instead - you'll definitely find the 100 kW charging speeds.
    The Leaf e+ does solve Rapidgate by being less intensive on the battery, which is good thing. Still Nissan NEEDS to ditch CHAdeMO outside of Japan or just adopt CCS in the Leaf.

      Nissan's reasoning for Chademo is that it can send power also to the grid. I see no use for this for me in the coming years. CCS is something I prefer also.

    What you are looking for is not a bigger cable. It's a 200A Chademo Plug from Sumitomo named SEDV-11. Its mainly blue with black handle. e+ will then charge at 102kW and more. Chademo seems to be No#1 in Europe when it comes to quantity of fast chargers and it's said they will install 200A plugs from now on: www.chademo.com/portfolios/sumitomo-electric-1-2/

      V2G is possibile with ccs also and in the future the inverter of the car will do the dc-ac conversion in order to use type 2 instead of ccs or chademo and without using an external inverter only with a special wallbox.

      @@whuzzzup Hi, on plugshare.com there are tons of chademo chargers, but the majority only do 50 kwh. I hope that the owning companies can upgrade them to 350 kwh. Nissan could work with them to upgrade the Leaf to 350 kwh.

    Chademo is a deal breaker for me. I really dont get why Nissan choose to stick with Chademo here in Europe?! If you buy the new Leaf, you will be excluded from using the ionity network, and in the future i believe that you will find less and less chademo plugs, relative to CCS. Not good for resale value....

      Betamax lost the format wars despite being a better standard. When the vast majority of other car makers are adopting CCS, whether or not Chademo is in any sense “better” is really neither here nor there.

    The new chargers being installed by Petro Canada at their gas stations claim 350 kW CCS2 and 100 kW chademo. My Niro EV charged up to 74 kW at 62% SOC down to 24 or so at 80%. Those CCS2 cables are short and hard to attach and detach... 2nd time I charged
    from 33% and I got only 54 kW max much slower charging, the Battery got up to 33 C at 4.00 volts per cell according to Soul EV spy app when charged to 80%,.. not like your Leaf..

    Why Nissan couldn’t introduce a proper temperature management system for the Leaf is beyond me. Even the one they included for the NV-200e which basically uses the Leaf’s battery pack would have been an improvement.

      They are different. Nissan leaf has much better interior and build quality. It's, probably, more reliable and has a larger repair network with less waiting time for repair. E-niro will have much of the benefits of the leaf plus better battery conditioning and more usable space to carry things around, more than a model 3. You pay for different things.
      Also, Tesla's Net income is US$−0.976 billion (2018), traditional manufacturers stay profitable.

      @@MrPaukann My 2016 Leaf with 17000 miles spent 3 months at the Nissan Service Center this summer. Personally, I'm not impressed with Nissan service. On the other hand, I have found Tesla service to be excellent. When the Model Y comes out, I'll be trading in our Leaf for another Tesla.

    • @MrPaukann
      @MrPaukann 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@darkenergy5686, maybe, but from what I've heard from Bjorn's videos about tesla service, it isn't impressive. Traditional manufacturers' service centers in general don't have huge waiting lists and cars are repaired quickly. Maybe that's just where I live.

    • @darkenergy5686
      @darkenergy5686 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MrPaukann Certainly Bjorn's experience has been different from mine. Then there is the fact that he is in Norway, whereas, I am in the Midwest of USA (Kentucky to be exact). Nonetheless, my Leaf suffered a failure such that it became undrivable and took several months to repair. The root cause was a defective battery cell in a rear stack module. But before the proper diagnosis, Nissan service replaced both the PDM and A/C Compressor. Then it took 2 or 3 reassemblies of the battery pack before they got it right.
      I've had one unscheduled service repair to my Model S which turned out to be a pinched drain hose exiting the A/C Evaporator box through the firewall.
      Don't get me wrong, I love both the Tesla Model S and Nissan Leaf, but my Tesla experience has been far better than my Nissan experience.

    Mmm the lack of TMS and the Chademo make this car not the best one for long trips which misses completely the point of the big battery. In this view i found the 40Kw battery more interesting albeit as a second car for city driving/short trips.
    I don't give a fig about the support of V2G on Chademo , In europe all automakers bar Nissan have decided to adopts CCS even Tesla started to adopt it , while Chademo still has got the numeric advantage ,95% of the current charging point can't charge above 50Kw , the Fast charging stations with 175kw+ are becoming more and more common, i don't care about how good the chademo may be ,that will support 999kw and the v2g (btw CCS does support v2g) , if i want to do a long trip in europe i don't want a vehicle that adds hours on my trip just because i decided to stick with that only automaker that insist on that connector in europe.
    While V2G is the future as it can help to balance the energy peaks , i don't feel ok to have an energy provider to manage the car battery for me or increase the wear and tear on batteries, inverters , there is also a problem with regulation, countries have to deal with taxes ,tariffs applied , the energy market regulations etc. It may be the future not a priority for the consumer or automaker .
