    Many people saying that he lost too many FINALS, but what people forget that his team are not the very best team in the FINAL all the time. He just unbelievable, he can make a FIAT run like a Ferrari.

    • @artrain11
      @artrain11 2 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      One hundred percent true. His teams were almost always underdogs going into any final. There is only one case where he wasn't really an underdog, but still lost and that was against Sevilla in UEFA cup final. But that was very early in his Liverpool development, and teams like Sevilla and Villareal just seem to find an edge when it comes to that competition.
      Its another point where English media should feel ashamed of itself. Always trying to pull down and demean people to get more views and reads. Maybe its why England never produces great coaches. The whole country is too busy to burn them on a stake after a few bad results.

    • @jeffroom
      @jeffroom 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      No, Klopp just highly respects Rangnick's work in German football and was inspired by his gegenpressing at Hoffenheim, Klopp said something like "We need to get to where they are now" when he was at BVB. You probably confused the information online. Tuchel was the guy who Rangnick hired, he got him into coaching at VfB Stuttgart, and then Tuchel slowly climbed up the ranks afterwards. I don't know to what extent Tuchel was "mentored" by Rangnick but I assume it isn't a whole lot as they don't have a similar style of play. Rangnick is a good coach (doubt world class; but): I believe his strongest attribute is his eye for talent ID. The fact he could identify Tuchel could be a coach in the future, and the likes of Julien Nagelsmann. In fact I find it crazy coincidental that Tuchel retired early because of a knee injury, then was hired to be a coach by his former to be new boss at Ulm/Stuttgart (Rangnick) and then Nagelsmann played under Tuchel's Augsburg but also retired because of a knee injury. Nagelsmann had worked as a scout with Tuchel, and then ended up working with Rangnick at Leipzig.
      But also, Rangnick has an eye for player talent, not just coaches. He signed Haaland and Mane at Salzburg, Kimmich, Sabitzer, Konate and Upamecano to RB Leipzig and Alaba and Firmino at Hoffenheim, who are now highly rated players. All these bar Sabitzer, Konate and Upamecano have major trophies and these two will get it anyway because they now play for Bayern Munich, and under their boss at RB Leipzig. It's no doubt this guy has a good ID for talent, which makes him a suitable sporting director for a football club. As he said in one of his interviews, he doesn't sign all the right players, but a 50% ratio is probably accurate which is better than United post-Fergie who have made virtually no successful signings (by that, I mean players that became more valuable during their United career). Haaland went from £7 million to what looks like a £150-200 million player now, Mane, at least £100 million in his prime if LFC sold, Kimmich, probably £80 million or more, etc.
      The question is whether the United owners will give him what he wants. The RBL owners did what he wanted.
