We all know how Jurgen Klopp has turned Liverpool FC into a behemoth of a football club, and how he broke Bayern Munich’s monopoly of German football with his Borussia Dortmund team. But little is known about his origins at Mainz.
How he was thrust into a team without a manager, how he made a relegation favourite of the second tier into a Bundesliga competitor, and how he reinvented the german-footballing-style.
This is the story of Jurgen Klopp at Mainz, told by Seb Stafford-Bloor. Illustrated by Alice Devine.

Jürgen Klopp is an admirable manager due to his love of the game, and not only because he enables us 'football romantics' but because he even rewards us. The man has many good quotes to his name, yet one of my favorite quotes has to be something similar to; "Whenever the team does well, they have earned the credit. Whenever the team fails, the blame is exclusively on me." That quote and philosophy shows not only maturity, but an understanding and fondness of the collective.

Certified _Mensch_ and, in my view, the best football manager in the world. Building a team to beat the mighty _Bayern_ to the league title and developing players to eventually lead _LFC_ to the recent major triumphs domestically and internationally are feats upon which every honest fan of the sport should look with the utmost respect and admiration. I would go as far as to say no other manager would have won what he has with the squads he has. Player-for-player _Klopp's_ triumphs have come despite his not having the strongest squads at his disposal.
His preferred brand of football is so physically taxing, however, that I hope he continues on the current course to refresh the core squad. We have a world-beating first-XI, but need genuine strength in depth. *Boom!*

The greatest quality I like about Klopp is he makes football simple & great to watch. His tactics are never negative & his type of football is never boring. It's always attack no matter what the situation. The other interesting thing is that every opponent coaches & players know what Klopp is going to play against them. It's gegen pressing & still they can't defeat his system. Many a team park the bus against his gegen pressing & still suffer. For me Klopp is the best. Iam not a tiki taka type of fan so though I respect Pep for his success I still prefer Klopp's gegenpressing.

To sumarise: Klopp got a break at Mainz, and following that he was offered the chance by Dortmund which is a sink or swim outcome in regards to football management, but then again, German football is less ruthless when giving the so called rookie managers a shot a the big time compared to English football - where usually you wouldn't even get that chance.
At Dortmund, he did more than swim, he took them back to the top and challenging and would've even gone further hadn't it been for Bayern Munich's overall power in the German league and the fact Guardiola was his direct rival who was regarded as the best in the world at the time.
He realised he couldn't take Dortmund any further and ended his stay amicably - taking a short well earned break.
Liverpool came calling, which at the time was perfect timing for both parties, and what was regarded as a perfect fit, with both dortmund and liverpool sharing many things in common and not just in footballing terms. The cities, the working class, political views, underdog status etc were all similar traits from both sides so Klopp had very little adapting to do and his only obstacle was the language barrier and his premier league inexperience.
Liverpool fans took to him immediately and were willing to give more time than they wouldve to a manager such as hodgson or rodgers but Klopp showed within 1 year how he wanted to shape the club and how we were going to get back to the top. Klopp has to fight against the power of man city and guardiola which he hasnt shyed away from and some would argue that he has the upper hand in that rivalry when it comes to direct competition, as proven in the league games and champions league games.
Klopps passion and understanding of all clubs he has worked at, is a testament to his own personality which shows in how his teams play. He is one of the best in world football and no one can deny this. The only question that hangs in the balance would be if his management style would work at power hungry clubs such as madrid, barca, man utd, bayern and psg.
If he was to leave liverpool for a new challenge then i think the perfect fit would be atletico madrid or ac milan.

If I had a time machine and go back to 2013. I would choose Klopp over Pep all day for Man Utd. Sure Pep is a genius and is a better coach. But Klopps chaotic high pressing football is much more entertaining and he is a very charismatic man

TQVM Tifo The content already clear out the doubters by many opposition fans especially from Varchester United that hype of Klopp been the understudy from Ralf "the Gegen Depressing" Rangsick before which is an ongoing false information about the matter.

Blame the media for their lazy reportage. I'm no journalist and even I know it's Wolfgang Frank, a point Jurgen made certain to hit on while they were peddling the misinformation.
