    Hey Doc, my wife and I were in Charleston last weekend 3.24.2023 and decided to stop by Low Country. I have been there several times but several years back. I found a t shirt and hat and my wife bought a shirt. At the check out I ask the lady behind the counter was Doc in the house. Boy did she have an attitude. She said, go over on the other side and ask them. We don't keep up with them, we sell clothes. I came very close to making a scene but I held my tongue. She was a nice looking girl about 35 to 40 small statue and dark hair. Probably going to awhile before I get back to Low Country. It is not hard to find people with that kind of attitude these days. If I were the owner or manager and I heard an employee talk to a customer like that, she or he would be looking for another place to work. Keep up the videos Doc. I try to watch them all.

    As always, great tips, Doc! Also, when the Techs have to deal with and work around many of the added accessories, it adds time to the job and the customer may be expected to pay for the extra labor involved.

    When going along the outside of a frame I run it through a vacuum line then attach to frame. Works great from points to coil going up the frame for shovelheads. Enjoy your videos. Thanx

    A good rule of thumb on when you replace your brakes is when the pad is starting to get thinner than the backing plate it's time to start thinking about replacing.

    Hey Doc,more great tips! One thing that I do when I get home from a ride and don't know when I'll go Ride again is, I put a small piece of blue painters tape on the side wall aligned with the valve stem. I check my tires before every ride and this helps position the bike so that it's easier to check pressure and not have to roll the bike the to find the value stem. (Hard to see behind the bags)

    What is a good way to gage or estimate the life of the break pads?

    • @wheelsandsaddlegarage
      @wheelsandsaddlegarage ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Good question.... I thought mine were getting pretty thin so I bought pads and dug into changing them.... The pads on the bike were close to the thickness of the brand new pads.

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      New style pads have grooves. When you can’t see the grooves it’s time….Doc

    • @omarrueben
      @omarrueben ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My rule of thumb is when the pads are less than the thickness of the backing plate it's time to think about replacing them.

    I like all your videos So I'm new to Harleys since April 2022. I'm from Quebec. I have a question about the spark plugs, could you provide a video on how to remove them and with what tools to use. I have a 2017 FLHTCU with 89,000km.
    thank you and even more video Doc...

    • @LowCountryHarleyDavidson
      @LowCountryHarleyDavidson  ปีที่แล้ว

      Welcome aboard Gilbert. I am sure there are plenty of “how to” videos to help you. My biggest suggestion is to purchase a Factory Service Manual. This will help you service your Harley-Davidson….Doc

  • @omarrueben
    @omarrueben ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great as always Doc. Not a good idea to not wire accessories directly to the battery. Either have a switch in line or connect to an ignition controlled wire. It avoids a possible parasitic drain on the battery.

    Service writer is the owners niece, doesn’t know the difference between a spark plug and a banana split,
    Service writer listens to maybe half of what you say NEVER actually talks to the mechanic, lies quickly and easily when questioned about why the service went sideways, new owners bought my email address, and want my business, parts department no longer stocks parts, WTF do you mean order an oil filter?
