- The Holiday Cup is here in Pokemon GO, one of the best meta's to play in the Great League! The Holiday Cup Team I used today got me 17 wins with only 3 losses! This team was very flexible and dominant against the Holiday Cup meta in Pokemon GO Battle League!

The very first sandygast i caught was a 0/14/14, gonna be powering it up to ultra in time but for now its in great league.
I’m currently running Skarmory lead, Dubwool safe swap and Unova Stunfisk as a closer.
i did 5 battle and literally every trainer had a vigoroth and a lanturn, i started running double grass just for the lanturns
Double grass is good iv'e noticed, I run dubwool, vigoroth, jellicent to try to be neutral to all and play jellicent as closer with shields.
The only cup where my shadow golurk can be used😂
I’m running pallosand, vigoroth and dubwool (the sheep is running payback and not wild charge) and I’ve gone 5-3-5-3-4 so not bad at all. Pallo handles so many of the leads, and has play into anything that’s not an ice type. Altaria on the lead is rough but I have been having good luck by throwing a shadow ball before swapping out to dubwool
do you bait wild charge with dubwool? or bait paybacks or just full send, because I get around that but a couple less wins and trying to find improvements for myself.

The thing is when the cup is so little of Pokémon pool and you make a great team. You will always have positive sets. Because I went from 2276-3045 in spring cup I think. And the worst set was 3-2 not because the team was bad it’s because I mess up. And when you have an open pool like GL or UL the pool of Pokémon are bigger so maybe right there you will have an algorithm. But honestly idc it helps you either way. When it mess you up and gives you games
I don't have a gl palossand so I decided to use jellicent instead, works pretty good as well! two 5-0 sets today

Maybe I played against you (never read the names), saw your team yesterday twice.
I play Chesnaught lead + s. Charizard as saveswap + fire(s. Blaziken, Talon flame etc. I still try out)yesterday Talon flame.
It really works well, as long as Lanturn have no watergun. Only the Vigo saveswaps are a bit tricky but doable.
Anyway I completely „fu..ed 2 sets up“ lag, horrible desicions and so on played 5wins/10fights… but finally the last 3 sets i went 14wins/15fights.
Reached 2350elo (which is really good for me so early in the season) without try hard (top left always if I lag, or I think the winrate is to low for 2min. Lifetime try out€
This team Nearly similar to my team running on 16-4 streak. Im using girafariq (confusion/psycFang/trailblaze) instead of palasand. And also my dirge equipped wit crunch+disarmvoice.. Lead dunsparce + Girafarig + skledirge 👍👍
I've been running Charizard, Venusaur and Chesnaught as a safeswap. The Chesnaught has Smack Down as it fastmove so it wins switch advantage against Charizard and Talonflame counters by såpending 1 shield. It even beats Skeledirge if it doesn't shield Frenzyplant, winning either switch or shield advantage.
Nothing beats the joy of wreching unsuspecting firetypes with Smack Down on a Grass type!
This morning I went 2-3, 1-4, 5-0, 5-0 with the same team
Algorithm. From Niantic. The same niantic that messes up every.... thing. You think they've come up with a convoluted algorithm to beat you down? It's luck and elo boii
Played this team because I thought Dunsparce was lolzy, and immediately won 7 games in a row. Wow. People rely wayyy too much on Vigoroth. Palosand makes them cry!

No, Niantic has already destroyed Battle League as well as Pokemon Go. You know what you can suck Niantic and it ain't a Piñata Colada.
Raichu skarmory talonflame does better against lanturn and vig than you'd think. When in doubt just boom

I use alolan golem lead, vigaroth safe swap, his weakness is covered by chestnaught and then Alolan golem to sweap
19-1 with shadow Dragonite, Lanturn, Vigoroth. My battles are done for the day and I got a hot hand =(
I figured out to not SS Vig in this meta, then watched this video and was validated lol

I was battled this seam threw times and then opened yt and realized why(bubble beam jellicent hard walls the whole team)
I go Altaria, Lanturn and Chesnaught. Winning a lot so far^^
I went 15-1 with stunfisk, skarmory and water gun lanturn(running the hundo for cmp's)
I'll add though, I did 8 battles this evening and went 4-4. The meta has shifted QUICKLY
my opponents always leave while im winning.. in order to play again i have to leave the game so i will basically „lose“.. i just dont get the win.. in 15 matches i had 0 wins bc they always leave.. what can i do??

my team is Skeledirge frosslass and lapras(lead) i am saying you double ghost is just good in normal gl too now i am thinking of switching lapras to palosand or gligar what's your opinion guys

Worst case of algo-rigging I have ever seen in a cup.
I ran gligar, vigoroth, jellicent and obviously had some wonderful hard counters but had some really good sets
I run dubwool lead instead of gligar, would you say your team's better? I feel like it is being able to counter lanturn and grass right?

Same team, 1-4, 1-4, 1-4, got frustrated and stopped using premium battle passes then went 5-0, 5-0. I only saw 3 vigoroths in the first three sets which were the only wins.
What do you do with a Jellicent ss?
I've been running shadow Drag, Dubwool, and Ice Beam Miltank. I ran with miltank because I had a good IV one and only horrible IV dunsparces plus I didn't have dust for sparce. This team did put in some great work tho shadow Drag has so many favourable leads and anytime you lose lead I safe swap Dubwool and 99.9% of the time a Vigoroth comes in and you can outpace with Dubwool save sheilds and farm down with Drag. Miltank will usually always clean up any potential fliers or ice types in the back. After running this team though you might want to try Thunderbolt Miltank instead so you don't lose so hard to Frosslass/Skarmory
Skeledirge, Vigoroth & S. Victreebell has been doing pretty good for me, hunting Vigoroths and Lanturns ;)
2 teams that worked well for me were Magnezone/Mandibuzz/Altaria and Altaria/Spark lanturn/Magnezone. Magnezone really good closer on both teams as I was swapping out on the lead after wild charges alot.
Im running The Goat as the Lead (Fire Blast), Unova Stunfisk, and Whimscot went 9-1 so far.
This team is pretty solid. Especially when Palossand shuts down vigoroth.

This is a nice anti Vigoroth team for sure. I used gholdengo for some pretty good walling, plus the added focus blast.

Dirge lead, dubwool safe switch, lanturn closer/safe swap depending on situation

Arctibax, Shiftry, Skarmory. Was thinking Madibuzz instead of Skar, but so far liking Skar.
Actually swapped Skar with Dub. Hits better and better safety
I had a rough day playing a very similar team. Was my first time playing this cup though so I didn't know what pokemon to be expecting. I did see a lot of water gun lanturns though. Lol.
I run dubwool lead, jellicent, vigoroth and it runs through almost every team, I lose to some grass teams but if you play jellicent around them its a good closer. Comfortable 3 wins everytime/
same team just replace fire croc. with ice ghost

My team is very similar but with obstagoon on the lead instead of dunsparce, and it did pretty well today.
This explains why I've been facing dunsparces on the lead today lol. Obstagoon scares them, though.
Stunfisk vig and dub is a really good team. I hit a 17 win streak
