Well the islanders and caps who both got in because they lost more games in OT went a combined 1-8 in their playoff series. They both played 5 and 4 more games respectively and STILL finished with fewer wins than the red wings did in just 82. Nice

No idea why but when watching this highlight again, the goal from perron reminds me of the Steve yzerman goal against the St Louis blues back from 1996
This actually turned out to be sad because just minutes apart Washington won their game so all of this turned out to be for nothing.
The funny thing is the caps might not have won if someone informed Torts that the Wings had just eliminated them from playoff contention by going to OT

And the flyers handed the caps a free playoff spot for ZERO REASON as they had no chance if the wings got a point. What a terrible way to not make the playoffs. Caps will lose in the first round for sure. Not even a wings fan but that feels terrible…

Mtl was winning 4-3 at the time philly pulled their goalie so in theorie wasnt a bad idea for them to do it. If they win in regulation and detroit lost in regulation they would be in the playoff
