No need to fret, my friend, SteveY is no doubt gonna get Ray and Seider locked up. Definitelt taking longer than we want, but its gonna happen. @talkingben4769
The double octopus throws down 2 in the 3rd the whole season on the line was the divine intervention the boys needed to get buzzing. Props to the fans who knew the assignment there.
Seider played that 2 on 1 so well. Took away the passing lane until the last moment, all the while closing on the shooter, and manages to block the shot.
God I pray the Wings win tomorrow and the Caps lose. It’s been a long 7 years since we’ve had the chance to see our Red Wings in the playoffs. You can tell Ken Daniels has been waiting a long time also. His calls the past few games have so much joy and jubilation to them. His raw emotions really epitomize how all Red Wings fans have been feeling. Ken and Mick are the best in the business ❤️
I feel like we had our chances and blew it. Larkin getting hurt is the difference between us being 3rd place in the division and missing the playoffs. I mean we'd easily be at 100 points, there's no way they go less than 4-3-1 in the 8 games they lost, with those arizona games? buffalo? etc..... And then the first injury early on we lost what, 5 or 6 in a row too? It shouldnt even be this close, but it is, and sadly I don't like our chances. Washington pulled off the defensive game of the year vs Boston my hats off to them if they win.
Might be the best 6-on-5 sequence I’ve ever seen: the playoff implications, the atmosphere at LCA, the mad scramble in the crease, the one-timer off the post, Air Ghost’s keep, and of course, Raymond coming in the clutch.
The most underrated part of that OT winner is Raymond racing full speed up the ice at the end of a shift, and then corralling that puck and firing it off the blade in half a second. Elite effort and elite release
I appreciate your addition of the ‘boarding’ play we made against the habs not too long after Raymond’s. It’s such a subtle touch that tells you a lot about how committed the referees were to keeping the whistles at home today, largely for both teams. There has to be a big comfy office chair for you somewhere in hockey media, and it would be a disservice to you to try and use the English language to convey how lucky I feel that you do it for free for my favorite sports team of all time. I’d put you on a jersey in the rafters if I could.
Because the game was carried on a Canadian sports network (I live in Canada) the Detroit feed was unavailable so I missed Mickey Redmond ("boy oh boy"). He's the best color commentator. All the others seem to be paid by the syllable.
It's official my neighbors hate me after tonight lol. I went crazy. What an emotional ride this game was. Pleeeeaaaase let the hockey Gods be on our side 2maro
I can't wait to see my first *Detroit Red Wings* game live at *LCA* sometime in the near future. When _Don't Stop Believing_ is played after the game, *South Detroit* immediatly brings tears to my eyes and a chill runs down my spine, as if it were actually my city that was being sung about. Instead, I'm sitting here in Cologne, Germany and I'm usually only this emotional when they sing about Cologne. - It's time for a trip to the *USA!*
Not only did he score the tying goal and the OT winner, if Lucas had missed his defensive assignment he wouldn't have been there to pick up the puck when Ghost tripped and the Canadiens would've scored. He does so many things right and I'm just so happy that he's finally getting rewarded
Are you going to post highlights of the game in Montreal? Even though we got eliminated a few minutes later, it was still a win and an amazing comeback.
6:13 Gostisbehere climbing the ladder to keep the puck in!! What a play! If that gets out Montreal likely gets a change. Just a great, great desperation play!
Lucas Raymond got his ass beat into a pulp all game, the Referee's completely ignored it, and yet... he's the hero of the game. This kid is special and this season is just the start.
25 years of loving the Wings.. i've never felt that before. This team, this crowd, this goal horn.. April 2025 : back to the playoffs. Cheers from France
When he got the octopus off the ice, you could clearly see from his reaction that he wanted to get rid of it asap. No selfies like with the obviously in better shape octopus before, just get rid of it and put the lid on! - haha. :) And I guess they knew it right away, since no girl was taking it - the loathsome fish is boys-business!
4 unanswered goals to win this baby in OT, what a comeback. Raymond was the indisputable hero of this game but hats off to JT Compher for 2 very timely goals to keep us in it. Hard fought game from the whole team let's get em again tonight boys LGRW
The audio guys sure did their damndest to keep the audio rolling, but I would have revolted if they kept it at full volume. It’s the crowd’s sole duty, honor and privilege to bring home a win with the ‘South Detroit’ chant and I feel like it’s as tantamount to sacrilege as a secular action could be for the audio crew to keep journey playing. Maybe it’s just that the arenas haven’t been full enough to justify it, but it bothered me to no end how often they let the song continue after a win and if it doesn’t stop now that the crowd is showing up in full, someone’s gotta be let go imho.
Just a little thing I noticed.. 3:13 that was probably one of the cleanest faceoff wins I've seen in a long time lol. Fitting that it lead to a perfect pass to a perfect goal.
Got to give Ghost a contract extension, man what a season he is having. Even if wings dont make the playoffs, we got to keep this squad for next year. Please flyers beat those capitals.
I thought the signings of The Ghost, Kaner, Compher, and Fischer were not the smart move... 81 games later, I'm happy to say I was wayyyyy wrong. The future is beyond bright
I knew the moment that first octopus was throw with 10mins left, that it would spark something in them. Can’t wait for tonight’s game, maybe we’ll see more of it
6:12 - So when does this season-saver get its statue? I've never seen a player sell out to get a puck that high in the air like the team's season depended on it before.
Mickey Redmond getting to be right next to the team on the bench during a moment like this must have been so surreal for him, probably hasn't been on a bench for a moment as significant as that since he was playing himself. Very emotional moment for him no doubt!
Playoffs or not, Raymond is about to be next level next year! I feel like we had our chances and blew it. Larkin getting hurt is the difference between us being 3rd place in the division and missing the playoffs. I mean we'd easily be at 100 points, there's no way they go less than 4-3-1 in the 8 games in a row they lost, with those arizona games? buffalo? etc..... If the Wings who showed up in the last 10 minutes of gameplay go into the playoffs, then the Rangers need to look out. But will that happen? God I hope so.

Great work as usual @awood40
Aka part one Montreal highlights 😅 part two Detroit highlights haha
Lucas Raymond putting on a show these last few games... We have a super star in the making ladies and gentleman. Yzerman better lock this man up
Obviously going to. Our core for the future is larkin, Raymond, and seider. No way any of them go anywhere.
We still haven’t… I’m worried
No need to fret, my friend, SteveY is no doubt gonna get Ray and Seider locked up. Definitelt taking longer than we want, but its gonna happen. @talkingben4769
not only got him for 8 but on a hell of a deal too! 8x8.075
Just did
Dang Raymond, the Ghost, Larkin, Compher, the fans, everyone.. Holy crap what a rocking stadium. Thanks awood.
You forgot the octopus
Compher?
I was at the game it was nuts. I'm here four months later rewatching 💪🏼
I haven't felt this way in a long time. Feels so good, what a game. This is why we love hockey.
Probably the last time I felt this good is when we took a 3-1 series lead on Chicago in 2013.
The double octopus throws down 2 in the 3rd the whole season on the line was the divine intervention the boys needed to get buzzing. Props to the fans who knew the assignment there.
Couldn’t agree more! 🐙 Good job, guys! 🐙
👻🐙👻🐙👻🐙👻🐙
By far the biggest game in LCA history and everything was unreal. Calls from Ken and Mick, the crowd, the finish, you name it.
I've been watching this video all morning at work, Can not get over this win, Raymond is becoming a superstar!
Congratulations from your original six brother, the Rangers.
For as much issues as i’ve had with Ghost this season, dude is a fucking hero for that keep in.
Play of the year
exactly what i said lol
I agree!
Agreed
All the issues with ghost don’t compare to the issues with chiarot and Petry and holl
Seider played that 2 on 1 so well. Took away the passing lane until the last moment, all the while closing on the shooter, and manages to block the shot.

As of now we're still in at tied up with caps for 7th or 8th so hopefully nobody else in the wild card spots win
@@bbqbeer1883Caps have the tiebreaker over us, so we’re in 9th right now. Need to win and have the Caps lose.

@@MoneyHoneyBunny while I agree with that, Philadelphia plays Washington and Philadelphia is usually a hard game for them

That Raymond celly in OT 🔥🔥🔥

me too...the sport center broadcast was so so....usually pretty good. nothing like Ken and Mickey
Even if the wings don’t make the playoffs playing meaningful hockey until the last game of the season is a huge step forward
That Raymond OT goal was the best goal I've seen since Yzermans double OT winner
It's official my neighbors hate me after tonight lol. I went crazy. What an emotional ride this game was. Pleeeeaaaase let the hockey Gods be on our side 2maro

Gostisbehere had an unreal game
in the last 10 minutes sure, I was also losing my mind watching him play defense
We do not tie this up without that incredible catch! The Tigers would be proud of that one!
He doesn't make that leap to keep the puck in and the Wings lose! He needs a star tonight as well.. Bet the players are heaping praise on him as well.
He was an Alpha tonight, always tapping his stick on the ice to get the puck.
That grab saved it all
Are you going to post highlights of the game in Montreal? Even though we got eliminated a few minutes later, it was still a win and an amazing comeback.
Despite the missed playoffs was hoping you would still post last nights win. (I thought maybe an Awood video would make me feel better)

That keep in by Ghost 😍👊
That right there saved them.
Ken Daniels... absolutely elite work 🔥🔥
6:40 "Fuck yeah, Razor!"
Need the highlights from game 82. Despite the Washington result the last second comeback is worth celebrating
My god the 3rd period had my heart racing. What an incredible game to watch. Let’s go boys!!!!
lets go red wings
the look on Kane after the guys left the bench...it was pure pride and joy. love it.
Lucas Raymond got his ass beat into a pulp all game, the Referee's completely ignored it, and yet... he's the hero of the game.

Chiarot just manhandle Caulfield at the start of the 3rd and Mic's laugh *chefs kiss*

Thank you for putting these recaps together. You add pieces that the other guys leave out. So happy they won.
yesss...i get annoyed when broadcasts or videos cut short of the crown shouting "South Detroit!"
DON'T STOP BELIEVING, DETROIT!
I love how Edvinsson isn’t afraid to jump into the play. Once he gets settled in next year and forward he should be a good one.
Raymond with 2 immaculate goals late. Gotisbehere with the insane catch to keep the puck in the zone. love it. LGRW
This video has 300 views so far and they are all me haha What a game. Keep up the good work awood. Go Wings
That second octopus was NOT fresh 2:30
Thought the same. Looked pretty rancid
They've had to save it for a while when the Wings weren't playing well 😂

Someone find an A for that #23 sweater!!!
Thanks for the great cuts, awood. You really get a lot of feeling across in these extended highlights.
That flurry with the goalie pulled to tie the game was insane!
Been watching you for almost a decade now awood and this might be the most electrifying highlight reel ive ever seen. Keep it up GOAT🐐
Im so thankful the refs let them play instead of calling all the ticky tacky stuff. What a damn game

The second octopus: the Red Wings without Larkin
The Habs fan chugging his beer after the OT GWG at 10:58 has me in tears
I've watched this video at least a dozen times this summer now. LGRW!
5:37 the puck bouncing on top of the back of Montembeault's leg :O
I get game 82 was meaningless for playoffs. It was still a very very nice game that shows how far this team has come since Yzerman took over.
