Right, what a lot of these guys are saying is spot on. Fines if caught, possibly worse running due to sensor misreading, engine light ect. In the case of mine it was completely plugged up. I actually done this to try to clean my cat (it was throwing a P0420 code). Reset my CEL and this worked, but only for about 300 more miles before P0420 coded again. @@PopaAlexandru. Why? LOL
haha, could have used paint thinner and half a gallon worth of driving and that would have fixed it..
I saw that on Scotty Kilmers video. Thought he was nuts. (He might be anyway.) Worked for me.
I thought about trying this out after seeing the same video
You use Lacquer Thinner, not paint thinner (per Scotty). Add 1 gallon of Lacquer Thinner to a half tank of gas and then drive the vehicle above highway speeds for 150 miles (or so) straight. I actually done this to try to clean my cat (it was throwing a P0420 code). Reset my CEL and this worked, but only for about 300 more miles before P0420 coded again. Worth a try just to get it to pass inspection if you don't have the money to have the cat replaced before inspection, AND the cat's "honeycomb" structure isn't damaged such that it's clogging up the exhaust system.
@@locutusofborg7122 So......break the law, and speed down the highway.....for 150 miles, no less....on a half tank of gas and Lacquer Thinner...for what might TEMPORARILY clean a part that needs to be replaced anyway?? Makes perfect sense!!
@@warrenmorphis4208 Sure it makes perfect sense to anyone who has the cognitive ability to comprehend the rationale stated in my last sentence; however, it would not make sense to a gem-bellied-under-the-bridge-dweller.
Didn't look sloppy to me. He vacuumed it.
thankfully and hopefully the EPA goes defunct, not a fan of trump, but that's the only good thing he may do

Now just weld it back together and put it back on and the car will run like new
i didnt even remove it from the vehicle....blocked it up...zip cut a hole punched it all out and welded it closed.
and the finished product looked way sloppier.
@@electronbeing5473 Not that anyone can see it if it's done sloppy. As long as it's welded closed properly.
@@capeofstormz5974 apparently you didn't see the "sloppy" humour
Poor lacquer thinner in it and let it soak, no need to cut it out.
Where do I pour that in, throughthe sparkplug holes ?
@@kellismith4329 It would take disassembly from the exhaust manifold flanges, then poor it in the exhaust pipes let it run down into the converters. That's how I'd do it anyways, be no need to remove them... then hope for the best.
