      Some people steal things some people steal souls. Some people are pedophiles what’s the difference between these?. What is worse pedophilia or catalytic conveyer theft. Is Jeff Bezos a thief? Sure he is, how about the pope? Of course. Donald trump? No doubt. Do your parents belong together? Should you have been conceived? Who is your woman do you belong with her? Thieves are all people. Stealing things is no different than stealing someone’s girl. Anytime you do something wrong it’s thievery. Are you a bitch? Why? You are stealing estrogen

    I'm kind of curious why the hydrochloric acid isn't used first and followed by aqua regia? I'm kind of wondering if very small amounts of precious metals aren't dissolved by hydrochloric acid alone. I remember doing tests with just straight hydrochloric acid and gold leaf. Over a couple days the gold leaf dissolved. Is it because some of the product will dissolve and just hydrochloric acid? It would be a pretty good way of dissolving some of the other crap otherwise

    Question: for ANYONE who has an answer! (Yes, I'm just getting into recovery and refining. After 3 years of studying) The aluminum used to drop the platinum, I'm assuming it's a high grade aluminum. Can I get that by melting my own bars and getting all the dross off before the pour???
    Was it a bit off a relief to find it only had platinum (because only one thing to focus on)? Or would it not have mattered much on the process?
    Have a GREAT Day!!!

    • @larryharris6998
      @larryharris6998 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You can use aluminum foil. If you melt and pour aluminum take a small drill bit and drill into it. Then use the drill shavings to drop. Denser larger surfaces can cause a boil over pretty quick. Add small amounts of shavings or aluminum foil pieces works great. Just know if you have iron, copper, tin, silver, gold or platinum group metals aluminum will drop them all out of solution. So know exactly what you have before using aluminum.

      You mean the dirt from the catalyst? No, nothing is lost. Basically if the catalyst is clogged then some metal can be retained in the openings but when clean like this, all the worn metal has already leaked through the exhaust, and the dirt is a huge problem when filtering, because the oils and fats they contain!

    Hi, if there were both palladium and platinum , then how would u have separated them?

    • @kieranodea771
      @kieranodea771 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Add dimethylglyoxime, palladium will separate as a yellow precipitate. Leaving just platinum in solution.

    If it takes that long to get the metal out and it's not that much metal, what makes it worth stealing those things in the first place. It doesn't seem worth all that trouble to go through.

    • @aviandragon1390

      Might have something to do with the fact that platinum sells for $1000 an ounce. Just a guess. 🤷

      @true_neutral_bg2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most converter thieves will sell to a recycler, who then sells it to a company which recovers the metals, who then sells the recovered metals to a refiner. Sometimes there are more middle companies depending on who is starting off that chain.
      Everyone gets their cut, the converter thieves will get the smallest dollar amount, but they are also stealing them so it is pure profit, whether it is 50 dollars or 200 dollars for each one.
      This is why thieves will often target certain vehicles and not others, because they know which converters have the most PGMs inside (i.e. which ones are more valuable).
      If you think about it that way, a thief could potentially steal 5-10 converters in a couple hours, sell them for 100-200 each, and make between 500 to a thousand per hour of time invested.

      @@aviandragon1390 Why don't you just buy a converter and take the platinum out and sell it for a profit?

    • @aviandragon1390
      @aviandragon1390 ปีที่แล้ว

      Acting clueless is not a good way to disagree with someone. This isn't beautifully refined metal that you can sell to laboratories. I was giving that price as a reference. People who steal these are not investing a dime. They will get street prices for the material that they recover. It is still profitable for those who would rather be parasites than get an honest job. Are there other facts of life you need explained or will that be all for now?

  • @Enjoymentboy
    @Enjoymentboy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    No need to crush these. All the PGMs are on the outer layers not in the actual substrate. Soaking will take less time and chemicals not to mention WAY easier filtering. I've found CATS to be too much of a hassle and potential health hazard so I've stopped dealing with them but I have always found it better to soak than to crush. They aren't like mlccs where the metals are buried deep inside. As long as the solution completely covers it and no air bubbles all the PMs will come free.

    • @999DusanGoldrecovery
      @999DusanGoldrecovery  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That they are very dangerous for work and that is why I personally don't do them too much. The reason I grind them is the amount of acid that is required to cover the substrate.And my opinion is that you still need to heat the solution well so that Platinum is more easily absorbed. Now I'm just doing a full substrate test
      with bleach, I want to see if there is still some metal left on the substrate after that.You will see result in some of next videos mate!
