    Watch out for loose granules on those roofs, especially after an ice event which loosens some of them. I nearly fell on one with only a 22 degree incline after some loose ones let go. You can't be too careful on roofs or ladders.

    I've only had to deal with one like that. It was along the I75 in the Saginaw area. Real pain in the backside!

    If you're worried about slipping on the roof's go to an REI outfitters if you have one and get a pair of rock climbing shoes. Their sticky on the bottom and will help from slipping.

    I've been looking into having an air handler installed in my attic. We have a two-story and it's way too hot upstairs in the summer. The house has to be set at 70° on the first floor for it to be 74 on the second floor. That costs a lot of money every season. Summers in Michigan can be very hot and very humid. Unless somebody knows a retrofit zoning system I think I'm going to have to have a separate AC just for the upstairs probably a high pressure system for 4-in ducks in each room. I would love to have a retrofit zoning system that really works. So Mr Michigan heating guy I don't remember your name I wish they did I'm bad that way. Do you know of anything?

      @MiHeatingGuy  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Arzel zoning he has a retrofit system and it works good. I've used it on many jobs and it would save you a lot of money over an air handler or mini splits

      @@MiHeatingGuy thank you would you say this could be a do-it-yourselfer system or do I need a contractor to install it? I'm not going to say I'm super intelligent or anything but I was a machine is for 35 years I get how things go together just wondering Thank you

      @@whatdoyouthinktodd If you can get the parts (some companies don't sell to individuals) and you have access to the ducts it should be DIY-able. Best case (note I'm not a pro and have never installed a zoning system) is probably if you have a separate easily-accessible rectangular duct leading to each floor. Standard zoning dampers seem easy to install.

      @@eDoc2020 unfortunately we have a fully finished basement. We have two trunks one for conditioned air and the other one for return air. You can only see about 4 ft of them in the utility room. I was hoping there was something that would go on register and return air vents. I have seen such a thing but I can't remember where.

      @@whatdoyouthinktodd Arzel "EzyFit" and/or "RegiDamper" look like they'd work for you. You'd need to fish their pneumatic control line through the supply ducts.
      There's no need to put dampers on the return vents

    Being on the roof might be a good thing in areas with higher crime of metals and such. Make it a harder target.

    Sometimes you feel like a nut sometimes you don't. In Michigan 38% of the people here resemble the word nut. Not you of course or myself.

    It's a lot easier if you use the boxto stabilizer the motor while mounting it to the top. Just tab the shaft into the box it works very well.
