Attempt Count: I lost count... it was more than twenty, I can admit that.
Class: Sapper
Weapon: Pickaxe
Tool: Grenades
How I completed it: Legit it's mostly min-maxing your barricades, grenades, and the bombers which come around, as well as the final zombie which survive at the end of every round. I generally set up the barricades in a way which give me plenty of breathing room around the church for both bomber explosions and grenade cooks. It's all barricades aside from one stake and barricade which serve for the final spot for the loop around in case all of them get blown up (which in that case, would serve to be near end of a round anyways and at that point you would have time to basically prepare for another horde.) though with the wider barricades it usually means that grenade cooking is important for clearing out hordes.
Patience is one of the biggest factors when it comes to completing Alone at the End of the World. I cannot tell you how much I died being impatient or stupid during my End of the World attempts. But at least it taught me a lesson in some amount of patience. Legit I would have never, ever gotten this far when it came to beating this mode if I didn't learn to relax and strategize better. Honestly this entire mode has made me a Sapper main, and appreciate more of the class variety the game offers even more than I have before (and I love most of the classes this game provides).
Though there is one thing I can say is that I had so, so many close call this attempt. Legit one of my main causes of deaths were zombies grabbing me while I was trying to attack from a barricade. The new ghoul system from what I heard is still needing some tweaks, so it could be a main cause of some of these deaths, but I think it's mostly just my skill issues. But god the rush of stress and adrenaline I felt in my body felt amazing as I barely survived the horde many, many times. Hell, I totally forgot that the achievement is instantly given once you hit wave 20, so I was prepared for this final showdown as I prepared my last of the defenses at the near tail-end of wave 19, and as I killed the last zombie... bam, achievement. It was funny and anti-climatic, but god it felt relieving.
Also, uh, for those who complain that this wasn't a full genuine run, sorry that I couldn't really provide a "proper" run. Nitpick my strategy for leaving the last zombie alive all you want, but if COD zombie players get to leave the last zombie alive back in the ye olden days of 2000s, I get to do the same in the years of our lord 2020s. Please go somewhere else for a more "genuine" run. Thank you. Though, for those who are interested why I kept on shoving the last zombies, it's mostly to keep them stun locked to provide extra time. I also led them along the side away from the last barricade's stake to prevent them from dying early and... well, you know, ruining the run.
Yeah, this sucked. 0/bubbles. I survived the end of the world and all I got was these stupid glasses and a beard make-over I did not ask for.

The sheer amount of "...Perhaps you truly are alone..." in the chat tells me everything I need to know about how hellish this was to do.
"COME ON! JUST ONE MORE ROUND! JUST ONE MORE ROUND!"
I recommend you to camp on the house than the church for a faster time (and slightly easier) since shamblers just stuck in a narrow space where you can abuse the bomber to do the job for you after you shoved shamblers.
I'll think about it perhaps.
For longer runs(i mean 20+) i would recommend use water bucket. Igniters can ruin your game even at wave 21
Not planning on solo running past 20. I usually run water bucket on priest and surgeon, but if I do go past 20 solo or duo, maybe... maybe... though I personally prefer grenades for crowd clearing since it seems to work the best and igniter fires are stupidly easy to avoid if you know what to look out for (plus the church angles here are very easy to avoid fires).
Man I wish the pickaxe didnt got debuff, it was the best melee for sapper at the time
@@samrungplays the debuff got reversed. This legit is the latest update. Legit I am using the best version of the pickaxe yet and it's glorious.

Update I did it my fifth attempt
Almost won on my third attempt but at the start of the final wave I hit gunpowder and died instantly
basically what I did to win is: I was at the same spot you were put two spikes and then one on the front so basically a row of spikes and then three lines of barricades so the spikes would get most of the runners and the first gunpowder and I would always leave one zombie and I wouldn’t start a round until all the barricades were built
