YES! This is wonderful news! I'm still holding out for yokai watch 4 to be released in the West, but I'll happily settle for anything from Level 5!
Thanks to nintendo tho. That exclusive deal with sony for nino kuni 2 hurts them a lot, i love it tho but commercially flop. Good on them te release it on all platforms i have on all 3 platforms

My favorite announcement by far was Professor Layton. This is my favorite franchise that I and many other thought was dead. I’m so excited to see another mainline entry. There was other cool stuff as well but that one game blew me away.

Literally just saw a comment a few days ago by someone lamenting over the death of the Professor Layton franchise. I’ve never played the games myself but I’m so happy its fans got this surprise!
I thought level 5 was dead in the west too. We have to buy their games to support them

I was not expecting a Ghost Trick port, but I’d love to replay it and I’m glad more people get to experience this masterpiece

I was so thrilled to see 3 Level-5 games! I thought they were gone for sure. Very exciting to see them back in a big way.
I wasn't expecting more than a simple up-res of Metroid Prime. The fact that we're getting a game with a true visual remastering is so awesome!
They put so much effort into this remaster that I actually didn't care about not getting the trilogy or a look at 4 this is beautiful

GHOST TRICK!!! I've been waiting for YEARS for Capcom to re-release it! It's an absolute gem, and I hope it actually gets noticed by the masses this time. Too many people slept on it when it came out on the DS. It's created by Shu Takumi, who created the Ace Attorney series.
The Xenoblade 3 DLC ….that’s all I have to say.
super excited for that and Fire Emblem Engage DLC. not really interested in anything else.
I’ve not played XC3 but put well over 100 hours on 1 and 2… I saw that trailer and I’m contemplating taking vacation to play/beat XC3 lol

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania was the sleeper hit of the direct for me. I loved the original and that looked like so much fun!
The one that really got me was Deca Police. Can‘t wait to play it.
Always nice to see an interesting new IP, especially if it's Level 5

I'm so happy about so much they announced, them not forgetting about Professor Layton or Golden Sun made my day.
Metroid Prime is my all-time favorite game that I've beaten. I'm 52. I've beaten a lot of games since playing Pong at 5yo. I'm so psyched to get physical remaster.
I was REALLY happy to finally see Etrian Odyssey making its return. That excitement was somewhat tempered when I saw the massive price tag for the collection. It's $106 CDN before tax...that's a big ask for a collection of 12+ year old games that many EO fans already own. Thankfully they are sold separately, so you can choose to buy just your favourite/preferred game individually for $53. But I'll be looking forward to something like TGS in the hopes that we finally get a glimpse of the elusive Etrian Odyssey 6.
Advanced Wars got a release date, that really is exciting! Metroid Prime remake blew me away, this Nintendo direct was everything I hoped it would be.
I was most excited to see Etrian Odyssey 1-3 Remastered but the one that you didn't mention was Ghost Trick an amazing DS game.
I actually think Disney Illusion Island looks really fun. My fiancé and I will definitely be playing it together.
The Metroid Prime Remaster was a huge shock! I can’t wait to play one of my favorite games of all time with these insane graphics.

I still can't believe we're getting a new Fantasy Life. It's one of my most played 3DS games and I'm hyped for it.
that baten kaitos reveal is the stuff dreams are made of. hoping it gets a better audience a second time around, cuz it's something magical. really paved Monolith Soft as a great studio.
EDIT: finding out they removed the English dub really bums me out now. I get that it was awful for the first game but it had some charm. The second games dub was great, dunno why that’s scrapped at all. Sad way to treat a remake imo. We’ll see what happens!
I’ve been hoping for it every direct along with Xenosaga trilogy, skies of Arcadia and eternal darkness but never expected one to come true haha

I was going to buy the first one on GameCube but thankfully I didn’t.
Part 3 would have been a lot better than just another port/remaster.
biggest surprise from the recent Nintendo Direct is the Baten Kaitos 1 and 2 Remastered Collection thats released for this summer. About time

My jaw dropped when they announced the EO collection. I thought ATLUS forgot about this series since the last news they dropped was 4 years ago.

I’m hoping that Golden Sun being an upcoming game for the expansion pass means Nintendo will finally give that series some love. I need them to follow up the cliff hanger ending of dark dawn!!! The end?

On the Wii U, the e-store will stop selling licenses by end of March. Unfortunately, many titles and some DLCs already got delisted and are not anymore available for sale.
All I'm saying is that "Sea of Stars" is by the "The Messenger" studio. The hype is real.
I backed Sea of Stars on Kickstarter, and I'm so glad I did. I'll get a physical copy of this gem :D
Baten kaitos yessss. Loved the first one. Played origins alot but never finished it. Maybe i can finish it this time. Anyways glad it's getting a re release and maybe it can get new fans. Truly one of my favorite rpg stories of all time
ETRIAN ODYSSEY!!!! Also Xenoblade DLC, GB/GBA, and the surprise Metroid shadow drop! Bought that instantly.
My wife and I couldn’t watch Nintendo direct this year but when she found out gb and gba games em were coming to switch she got so excited. Funny part is she was most excited for Tetris 😑. I’m excited for Metroid need to sell my GameCube version now lol

So damn jealous of the people who will be playing Prime for the first time. My first playthrough is probably my single most memorable gaming experience ever, next to only BOTW and SOTN. The Remaster runs beautifully (so far) for those wondering
I am so hyped for a new Professor Layton game. All I saw was that Layton was there unlike the previous game, and that's all I need to know. The Layton games are some of my favorites on the DS and 3DS.
I like that they are releasing a Etrian Odyssey collection as it has all the first 3 games and those are the ones I do not have in my collection yet. Perfect little gem for me :D
Great video. I was actually most excited about the Etrian Odyssey remasters. Sadly the 3 games together will be sold for 80$ when they come out in June which is quite pricey but I always wanted to give them a try.

It was a great direct for me. Getting some collections and remasters of titles I actually wanted was great to see.
As for the Zelda game, I think they are going to surprise everyone with it and really go all out with new mechanics. It kinda looks like you can build your own vehicles and such. Interesting...

I kept telling myself Etrian Odyssey 6 would be shown. It wasn't... But 1-3 were! I just got into this series and have been buying them buy 3 is like $300 so getting that. We know 6 is coming because they did all the work to put these on switch with the map system which had to be a lot of work
I loved how Johnny tries to will Metroid Prime 4 into existence when talking Metroid Prime Remastered up, lol. I hope it was meant to whet our appetites too, man :).

lol I know you said you zoned out on Fashion Dreamers but I just want to say it's a successor to the Style Savvy series on DS and 3DS. The games are amazing if you are into fashion and dress-up games, I feel like you should at least try them if anyone is ever curious about it. Working with influencers is basically evolution from the last game where you are store shop owner who is hired to dress idols. I'm really glad the series is still alive there is nothing else like it on the market that isn't shovelware.

I'm totally not the target audience for this, but Style Boutique (as it was called in PAL regions) was incredibly popular, sold well and was much loved by many players (including men), as I've learned over the years. I was always surprised Nintendo seemed to let it lapse .. but no, it rises again! 😄

Ghost trick was a surprise for me since I would never dream about a port or a remaster of it on any system but this is a great game that more people need to play...also professor layton coming back was another great surprise

Level 5 was the hit of the show for me with Metroid Prime Remastered was a pleasant surprise and so much more it was a solid direct and this is just the first half of the year.
Before the Direct I was thinking," I don't need a Metroid Prime Remaster. I already got that game." Then I saw the trailer and I was all like "...I Need It!"
With the Gameboy Advance on NSO Mother 3 is that much closer to being released..

Well there's another thing that's a great news for me and it's the fact that we're getting a new Layton game. I thought I'd never see a new one coming so it's a huge surprise and a very welcome one. And of course like you I am very happy about metroid prime that I'll physically purchase later in February.
Bandai Namco working with Monolith with Baten Kaitos is good news bc means Xenosaga trilogy is possible. I love Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean and Origins pretty good too.
I never watch the Directs live, but I took a peek after the video was posted and skimmed through all of the games. The really impressive thing to me is the sheer quantity of quality games. Lots of ports and remasters, sure, but something like the Etrian Odyssey collection seems like a great way to jump into the series for anyone who’s held off.
Samba de amigo I had the original with the maracas on the Dreamcast and my friends and I had a blast playing and just watching each other play.
We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie was the standout title for me. Back in 2021 I tried to play the original We Love Katamari but the PS2 I was sent broken. Now I can finally play it.

Baten Kaitos 1 and 2 were my big ones. Then Etrian Odyssey 1-3. Hope they all get physical copies but bet Atlus won’t. They’re on ds which are crazy expensive 3 is $100s of dollars. 1 and 2 got Untold version remakes on 3DS but those different than original. Hopefully Bandai Namco comes through with physical for baten kaitos
The Japanese Direct had a couple of exclusives that the US Direct didn’t. Sadly I can’t read Japanese to know what they are called.
Metroid Prime got such a deep graphical overhaul that it's basically a new game.
I'm so glad Baten Kaitos is coming back, hope the remasters do well enough that perhaps a third installment will be made, or Xenosaga/gears gets a similar treatment
I lost my mind when Metroid Prime Remastered popped up on screen. While I never finished it, I loved the original Metroid Prime. That game was an absolutely fantastic game.
I'll bet they're releasing Metroid Prime 2 in May, MP 3 in August and MP 4 at the end of the year for the holidays.
I'm really exited for Etrian Odyssey. It's one of my favourite series. And for me that I live in Europe, it is difficult to obtain Etrian Odyssey 2 and 3 as they never released a PAL version.
Unfortunately Best Buy already sold out of the collectors edition online last night at 9pm but I did get to pre order the amiibo’s. Hopefully I can find collectors edition somewhere else
I wish Metroid prime trilogy got remastered not just 1st game. Hopefully 2 and 3 do come. Definitely gonna wait for physical but excited for it. Cool digital one shadow dropped. I feel Metroid Prime 4 further off and may get 2 and 3 remastered before it haha

I am super excited about Deca Police and the Fantasy Life sequel because it's great to see Level 5 putting games out regularly in the west again.
I'm also really looking forward to the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Expansion, the grand finale to the trilogy.
Same here. Metroid Prime was pretty cool, too. And seeing Game Boy and Gameboy Advance games on the Switch, too. Also pretty stoked for the two Baten Kaitos remasters.

Baten Kaitos, Metroid Prime Remastered shadow dropped, new Fantasy Life!!! This was a great direct! I love Fantasy Life and never thought we'd get another. And I can finally play Golden Sun (eventually)!! After a so many meh Directs this had a lot of stuff for me to get excited about.
New Natsu Yasumi game in the Japanese version of direct was announced, looking forward to it!
I just started octopath traveler recently and man what a good rpg so I found out they’re putting out a part II went ahead and pre ordered it for ps5
That metroidvania Mickey game looks un ironically really good.
So happy to see Etrian Odyssey back, though the very steep price tag is why I wish there was an english physical for it. Really glad to see it back though and I hope more games come available in the future

I never played Metroid Prime so I'm excited about that. I'm not sure if these were shown on the direct but I'm also excited about Decapolice and the new Professor Layton game. I've been wanting a new Layton game on the switch lately for some reason.

I was really hoping for a new Switch hardware model, but figured it was unlikely. I gave my switch away to a friend who would use it more than me at the time. Now there's all these games I want to check out 😅
