Just back after 12 years away. My char can legally drink in the US (born 2003). There is SO much new stuff since I was last in; am really enjoying my return.
Burnout is a little to dangerous on this game, recently i discovery the game and started to play…. I log in, for the first time… 2 days straitgh….. no sleeep😅 A little more self control is indeed welcome haha The learning curve is very fun and that was a deep dive on immersion but the burnout from 2 days no sleep destroyed my fun for the next 3 days.
After 11 year hiatus, and 5 years after all my account got stolen and then returned, i also went back to EVE last December. Things changed. Used to be a nullsec fleet battle junkie, now i just spend my time hunting triglavians, building ships and being the most boring carebear,. i like it and pays well too :) EVE is Forever

I left when they brought in the drone regions as I couldnt afford to fund my miners. I sold my accounts. then friends wanted to play so we did till a griefer targeted the newbie corp so i started buying toons again. I was soon up to 12 accounts and in null. Then I realized how much work it was so I opted to downsize to 4 accounts. Life got int he way. Now im likely on my way back and learning all thats changed.
12:30 new players should really take this to heart if your a good sport most people are so rich they will reimburse you for your ship.... when I was a new bro I was reimbursed multiple times just be friendly
Came back to the game after 10 years away back in 2022, I had been playing in nullsec and honestly it was terrible so when I came back I started a new character just to screw around and have fun. Ended up finding a small gang low sec pvp corp and have actually been having a great time with the group I found. Your group actually sounds exactly like my group and another group we've allied up with.
The best part of Eve is leaving your training queue running, then coming back to the game months later and finding out what ships you can now fly that you forgot you were training 😂
I try the game every few years. It seems really fun but I stop playing after a couple of weeks since I do solo play but would probably stick around if I had a guild or org.
I am currently having these feelings. Left eve in 2019 to severe burnout and being in a dark place in real life st the time. I was in a leadership role jn a lowsec pirate alliance affiliated with a supercap hunting group. Most of the time It felt like a second job that took up all of my spare time. If i do come back i will not be letting that happen again and will be sticking to more of a chilled out casual playstyle if i can.
Since CCP has made all Empire space facilities to include jump gates to be things Capsuleers can own, why not shipyards where new ship designs can be made if you have the right skills for the profession (if you will). As an Industrialist, updating BPC from BPO's is one thing, but being able to make new ship designs, kind of like the Strategic Cruiser concept, but that finalize into a BPO with benefit for being semi permanent (to include the same functionality BPO research provides on material and build time and such). However the modular element is intended to be very expansive not just a selection of five variations of the system systems, but hundreds for a seemingly infinite variance, and using existing and new models for the visuals of the sections of the ship. Like having the appropriate sections if the Ammar Abaddon, with sections of the Gallente Megathron or the like as well as new ship sections vertical like the Gallente Myrmidon. Having ship building would be a cool addition and allow spice up of the combat in the game as the variance in stats would be greater, the whole reason they did away with racial bonuses to specific gameplay types - an unfortunate decision, but it is what it is. If you can be a beast flying a ship that you don't have racial bonuses in you can alt in the race that does or just be that beast. But Players didn't beg or make that choice, CCP did, and in so doing made all things "balanced," generic, and the like to shape player playstyle vs. adding to the game to shake it up. They need to bring that back as sure the ships having said bonus is great, everybody's equal. But, the racial bonuses added another level of play and specialization that should never be balanced out of a game if it was a core element at its start. But I ain't one to gossip... .
I've been flying around as an alpha clone for a few months maxed my 5 mill skill points and cant decide if I want to go omega or not. Haven't made a single friend in game to show me out of newbro space.
Never will I understand pleasures of ganking. You d-scan a player, you probe him, get to him and click on him. Your ship is better so the guy runs or dies. That's it, no challenge, nothing hard at all. I have more risk and thinking in PVE. You don't even do it for isk or for keeping farms for your corp. You get a guy in his own dead space for pure sadism. Making him mad for no good reason, I'd hate myself for that.
Comments like these are one of the biggest reasons people gank. It's like why be so sour? And ganking does take skill. You can be bad and fail most ganks. They take coordination and planning plus the know how. There is math involved for figuring out dps and tank required for how long you have to do it. It takes scouting and scanning too. Plus they are pretty easy to avoid if you just pay attention. Especially after you've been in an area for a while. Talk to the locals and find out who to set as -10.

Unfortunately, CCP decided to destroy the entire gameplay of all capitals and especially the titan. The thing can't even defend itself against a single frigate anymore. Since my endgame and that of my friends was removed from the game, we all stopped playing and as far as I know, no one is interested in the game anymore.
My fear of returning to Eve Online is that all my characters are logged out deep in 0.0 space in their supers/carriers in a random deep space pocket. I don't want to need to deal with trying to get all those assets back to a low-sec station. These characters have all been inactive for 7-8 years. I just wish they offered an option to be teleported to low-sec if you were inactive for many, many, many years.
Your assets that aren't in space can be teleported with asset safety (or already have been since it's been so long those structures don't exist anymore) to low security, you just have to pay a percentage of the value I think. Things in space would have to be cynoed out, or convoed with current owners for membership (hopefully),

naa, i logged back in today after being away for 6 years, i played in 2006 and onward quitting for a few years in between... once i checked the market it turned me off completetly from wanting to play again after logging in today... battleships are now 300-500m... wtf.. they used to be 40-100m, yet mineral prices are the same ??? thats retarded.. so mining seems useless now.. But if i say that youll have trolls saying,, oh you need to multibox 5 accounts and mining is fine... Dude i shouldnt have to multibox 5 accounts.. or mine ina group to make decent ISK.. Back in the day all i needed was 1 other account to haul ore or mine with me.. and now i need even more accounts ?? Na the prices of ore being the same but ships costing 10x more.. whats the point now ?? plex is also like 3b for 30 days... the f.. it used to be like 300-500m.. now its 3b.... so you gatta spend even MORE time farming to just pay to play the game to mine more and to pay to play the game to mine more... do you see the repetitive pointless nature of that.... Oh well just spend money you say ? Yea $20 now.. no thanks.. I also learned that carriers are pretty much 100% useless now... plus skill injections ?? So i spent YEARS to get to 40m sp... and now people can just pay to play to get more sp than me. Im also near 40 years now.. not 20... so to play this EVEN more time consuming game is redicuous. I also learned they changed safe routes in empire .. so if i want to go from say Jita to Amarr there are 4 un policed systems now i gatta go through... so now i see 0 point in flying freighters moving around ships and items to re-sell and make a profit in diff regions... at least my fenrir is worth 3b now.. i paid like 800m for it 6 years ago.. The 7b isk i have which took me months to get also seems useless... i have like 5 battleships in my inventory i was going to sell for a profit back then... at least i can make a GIANT profit now.. i paid like 80m for them.. and theyre worth about 380m now. The games market is absolutely bogus... i would be totally afraid to fly anything now bigger than a cruiser with these stupid prices.. I have 7b isk on me and i felt rich back then... i have about 12b in assets total.. and i should feel set... but i feel like thats nothing now.. 2 battleships and bam 1 billion almost.. rediculous. This game is BS.. and if you need to have 5+ other alts to even make a profit and play anymore.. then i can tell you those 19k ppl logged on i bet the real number is only a couple thousand.. i bet all the systems in the game most are empty now.. The carrier thing being useless really pisses me off, i have so many millions of sp invested in that and now there is 0 point in having them i noticed

I learned to quicly punch numbers on the numpad by playing the price undercutter game in Eve. Never again.

I'd consider going back, but I'm pretty sure a recent betrayal spaced my titan clone. And those things are expensive.

I completely agree, the more we have the tools to shape the universe, the better it is. Eve is a sandbox and we need to acknowledge that.
