I'm working on my eve story, I ran a corp for 10+ years, highsec, lowsec, null and wormholes. Currently I've only wrote about the first 2 years of history, and not yet final draft either, just talking points that I'll expand on for the full script. The biggest problem isnt storytelling, those are easy with eve, as the stories end up forming themselves mostly, it's the video editing problem and that I dont have video from the past 10 years of my gameplay, and I dont want generic gameplay in the background the whole time i want somthing that relates to what i am talking about at that point, so it will take me some time to get all that footage together, maybe even find some old null fights from someones perspective as a few people in some alliances would upload fights, who knows, maybe one day you will watch my story (not on this channel though)

Great insight into these dynamics .. I have to confess, I am one of these carebear mostly single players in EVE 😀 ... but I like it to come and go every now and then for many years now. Over the years I had trouble to find my place in that harsh pvp enviroment ... its quile a challange to fit that in between real life issues at times.
Well, often null feels more safe since u know every time u see a neutral that its an enemy and better get safe. Maybe worth trying one of the bigger alliances one of those times? The good thing is that there is tons of knowledge there, they have 101's on everything and inside them there u can find groups that do what u like to do but can test everything pretty much.
People get the wrong idea when they get into the game. They think things like fairness matter and that mechanisms in place to prevent them from losing too much. I treat Eve diplomacy like I treat real-world diplomacy, because fairness and safety only exist in the real world as far as the other person is willing to go. If you go somewhere where people are opportunistic and crime is overlooked, and expect not to get taken advantage of, you're gonna have a bad time. I'm not going to go throw rocks at someone's home in the ghetto and NOT expect them to retaliate. Also, griefing is just pure opportunism. If you don't make yourself a target, you won't get targeted much.

Frankly i can only atest to the truthfulness of silent stance. It's always the best way, cus guys who respond to shitalk will almost always end up getting ganked again while silent ones will at the very least have much less of a hard time if nothing else and at the best will never hear of dat guy again. Keep in mind griefers are never interested in politics, economy or pvp itself. All they want are ur tearz

Hey want to know somthing funny? Your corp was in the same alliance in 2015 as Tikktokk Tokkzikk, the guy that had his 100b isk ship stolen from him, came across that fact when researching your corp on dotlan, you guys were in it at the same time too.
Even using "Griefer" as a term is erroneous. You either are running the Game or getting Played. The only safe space is the log in screen, after that buckle up!
It is amusing that the story starts out with a player salty over a low-sec fight between two destroyers and then turning out that the same player is a suicide ganker.
Since around 2006, played heavily in those first few years; now every couple years or so, I dust off Eve for a annual subscription cruise. It's been awhile playing in a Corp environment because I always felt the maturity level in general to be quite lacking. However, you seem like a sound leader and thanks for sharing your interesting story.

I have found that most wardec corps are more or less carebears who just shoot a different sort of rats, that is industrial ships at trade hubs. There are a few of them who are actually good at PVP, but most of them aren't because when would they get practice? You can gank 100 newbies in badly fit ships and still not learn much of use in a real fleet
I used to war Dec corps as a one man corp.. I used to bait miners and mission runners into pvp.. hell I even rasomed a Asian isk farming corp then petitioned them to ccp explaining what I was doing and how much they was paying me to leave them alone two days after they gave me enough idk for 3 years sub.. the entire 50 man corp was Perma banned.
I had to reread this, I thought you were a scumbag after the first read. But Asian farming in any game typically ruins it, so you're alright after all lol.

4:00 14 seconds in .6 system confirmed. And that was after they had pulled concord to a different part of the system. I survived a 2 man gank, in a Procurer , 14 seconds, until concord showed up.

Most Griefers I encountered in high sec are gankers mostly from code and now safety. So how about Ganking is not Griefing but Griefing in high sec is mostly done by Gankers. I think ganking should be restricted to systems below 0.6 so that the gankers have some place to gank and the new player can have the rest of safe haven?
I'm 66 now and am now retired. In 2012 when I left Eve as real life matters took priority I flew solo, looks like I'll be continuing to fly solo if this is how corps act when I 🤞hopefully re-activate my omega account. As it all sounds pretty infantile and some of your corps acted like toddlers having a playground spat. I'm sorry, but I'm to old to be dealing with children via joining your corp.

Great story but people like CJ and Wutang are the majority of the playerbase, and not the minority. One of the reasons I stopped playing eve, makes me sad but it is what it is. I understand a PVP game attracting scumbags but you think it would attract some talent. No its just toxic whining, cheesing, and tryhard moves. Basically the same guys and tactics that you would see at an antifa rally. They pound their chest and scream real hard but even one guy on his sh*t puts them in their place. Some cheat and get banned and its just not fun. I tried to solo but that is a game mode for only the most dedicated of which I am not. As someone who used to be part of a large fleet and was a primary battleship sniper for our battleship group I will agree with you that cruisers and battlecruisers are much better. Battleships are more of a support role as you can see by your battleship kill how easy it was once you were on him. Was able to outfit an Amarr Prophecy with some serious short range dps crystals and absolutely wrecked carriers. Tech 1 blaster cruisers and battlecruisers are where its at. You did all the right things you just had terribad players. I know your pain and commend you on sticking with it.
I played for awhile a few times over the years, never got killed in highsec areas. Had a group try to raid a sector I was in once, but I saw them approaching and immediately warped to a waypoint I'd set in random space out of their range. I did get smoked the instant I entered a low sec once lol. But yeah, clowns coming into highsec to troll is annoying, doesn't do anything but show they are lowlifes lol.
I disagree with the griefing statement as well, BUT this whole thing got a bunch of new dudes to experience a side of eve that they may have been actively against at one point, so im ok with them naming their boogeyman whatever they want. I just wanna see part 2.

@@RenlangRen my character was 23m sp and there is really no where that it can go without being ganked. I wasted my time and money on this game. The few times I joined larger Corps I was ganked more by my own alliance than the enemy, most players have many accounts and wont hesitate to be your buddy on one and kill you with another. The game is so far gone beyond anything remotely fair(fun) that it should die like the rest of the has been games. A ship that could take a few days to a few weeks to build and then piece together modules, only to have it destroyed in 20 seconds is not fun...wont miss this game when its gone
@@edlubitz2968 I suspect that when you say "ganked" you don't mean what I mean. "Ganked"=high sec suicide attacks. If you are constantly being killed by high sec suicide attacks the problem is not a lack of skill points, but a lack of situational awareness. Watch local, d scan regularly, fit a tank, and fly aligned, and you will hardly ever be killed by high sec suicide attacks. Or do you mean something else when you say "ganked"?

I was just trying to help you if you were really constantly being ganked in EvE, it is likely because you don't have good situational awareness. and don't know how to d-scan. Once you know how to d-scan, people will not be able to sneak up on you and "gank" you unless they are using a cloaked ship, which have very little firepower. EvE is a PvP oriented game, and not to the taste of most gamers. If you don't like the game, that is fine.
Griefing and cheating devs are a major part of why this game died. Griefers especially targetting new players continuously caused many to never come back.

There are just a handful of skills new players need to learn, primarily learn how to d-scan and watch local, and you’ll be ok 95% of the time.
