    Thank you very much . there was a volleyball match in the center of Brussels yesterday and the young women played very well. But I noticed that they were making these signs on the back with their fingers and with your help I understood.

    what about the 5 Fingers option? (blocker and defending player try to read the attacker)... very effective in my opinion :)

    great video. I don't play doubles often, our group is so big we're using 3-6, sometimes even 6 + sub, so when I do doubles we generally aren't blocking but I have no idea where to stand. Just pulling back to line makes a lot of sense.

      Thanks, glad you liked it! Blocking and pulling line is the most basic and commonly used defensive system. We have way more information about blocking included in our Ultimate Defender Course! Check it out: www.betteratbeach.com/ultimatedefender

    great channel. i have a question - say i am a blocker and showed my partner i will block line. but the opponent setter sets the ball exactly in the middle of the court. so i will jump and try to block in the middle of the court (to block a straight hit). where should my partner go behind me? to the right of me or to the left of me? :)

    Where I come from a fist means blocking the ball. Open hand no blok.
    I think thats pretty universal in DK.

    Let's say that we have a 1 block, where my partner is serving and I am blocking line. We serve, the other team spikes cross and my partner digs it out. We hit the ball back to the defense. Is our assignment still the same throughout the whole point (I am blocking line each time)? If so, wouldn't they just go over the top to the empty spot on the next shot?

    Hi🤙🏼 thanks for this great tutorial:) in Switzerland allot of blockers want to pull of in the line of the attcker regardles what they have called, because it's faster. Does that also make sense in your opinion?

    • @betteratbeachvolleyball
      @betteratbeachvolleyball  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The line pull is a very good choose. I recommend it for the most part... But there are scenarios where you definitely should NOT expecially if it forces your defender to move when you surprised them by peeling to a side you weren't supposed to be on! We talk A LOT about that and do a ton of at-home drills for it in the Blocking and Peeling section of Ultimate Defender.. One of our members just this week used some of the tactics we showed here for Late Peels so the blocker can get digs... She ended up scoring a bunch of points using that strategy against a team that normally beats her up.. If you want to dive in for a couple months of guidance, you could get in our coaching program and start.. check it out here www.betteratbeach.com let me know if you have any questions

    In co-ed doubles, is it typical to block against both hitters, or just the man? Is it considered bad sportsmanship to block a woman on a men's height net, or does it just depend on the hitter's skill? Thanks!

    I'm still watching the video but I'm hoping you guys will talk about the peeling back after the angle block call.
    Upd: gotcha, angle block - peel back angle. Which might be a huge distance to cover.
    Thanks for the video!
