    A mechanical queue that may help passers keep their back/shoulders rounded is tucking their chin to their chest as they track the ball to their platform, and then exaggerate/hold the chin tuck for a split second after contact.

    , very cool that you actually show people doing mistakes, explaining what 's wrong and correcting them, other than just showing
    all things done perfectly - smth most tutorials actually lack tbh. Qn - they always teach me to have outer leg slightly forward at reception, "protecting" the sideline. If the service is too high for me to pass the ball with my hand infront of me, can I “set” the ball instead, with my hands above my head? If I so choose, can I send that “set” across the net as an attacking shot? As long as my shoulders are perpendicular to the direction I am sending the ball and that if dips below the level of the net before I make contact with the ball

Therefore the body is trying to compensate and still give the best pass posible cause that’s what the brain is commanding. DO NOT STRESS ABOUT BACKSPIN. That's just physics. The only way to counter that would be to add a lot of bad movement or pass a low shooting ball that would lose your point. It's not up to you to take spin off the ball. Setters should be able to do that.

    • @betteratbeachvolleyball
      @betteratbeachvolleyball  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That was actually a slip of the tongue/edit mistake and an oversimplification. Stick with starting by facing where the ball is coming from and always try to have the "tilt" of your shoulders slightly towards the net to make sure the ball goes forward. Sorry for the confusion.

    Why is it necessary?

    • @betteratbeachvolleyball
      @betteratbeachvolleyball  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rounding your back helps you keep your shoulders and platform FORWARD - many amateurs or people who haven't received coaching tend to pass with their back very straight up which leads to your platform being parallel to the ground (which causes your pass to be off the net) or even leads to your weight falling backwards which pulls the pass even farther off the net.
