I love this channel because it is wholesome, kind, non political and provides a nice vicarious escape for us. And the 4 main characters are good people. Yes, I think dogs are people too.
sushi looked quite amazing! well done, Sarah! I believe the secret to fine sushi-making is sipping an "appropriate" amount of Prosecco @ a suitable pace!! cheers!
In New England the clam you found is called a “ steamer”. After removing the black skin on the neck they can be dipped in batter and deep fried. They cost about $20 for about a dozen.
The two of you impress me every week with your well rounded episodes . It looks like we here in Canada are warmer than you . At least extreme southern Ontario. Wish I could go fishing with you Willie .
Sarah, we reckon your sushi rolls were excellent, even better than the shops or restaurants because of all the tasty, fresh ingredients. Watch out Willie, Sarah's culinary skills are on a par with yours. Fun video guys, thank you. Jack and Nori are looking in peak condition, they are blessed to have you looking after them.
Its always worth the wait with you 4. Loved the digging not so much the fish but I'm glad you all enjoyed it.I see the picture was wonky again today. The likes are going up as I type now I can't wait till next Sunday. Love to all.
I have known Skye for 60 years and i would not describe it as remote. Now one of the busiest places in Scotland with superb range of shops selling local produce.
Remote is a very relative term though! People from a big city have a very different idea of what remote is compared to those who grew up in the countryside. It definitely feels less remote here now to us than it did at the beginning 😊
Sarah looks very professional as a sushi chef 🥰👩🏻🍳 I did not know those fish could be eaten row, very brave both of you, the boys (obviously) have the best of taste, being suspicious always better than eat anything 😂🐾❤️congrats for the 60k, and Sarah, thanks for the calendar again love it very much ❤️❤️❤️
Great content Again - filleting that fish took some skill - cannot beat fresh fish straight from the sea to your plate - practice makes perfect - perhaps more sushi meals and PRESCO in the future. Jack and Nori are living the best lives ❣️
Your shell fish is wasted as bait, makes much better eating. The only takeaway we have is when our neighbour produces some for us all in the village. Usually mussels and oysters.
Split the fish as you did. Scales / skin ,down run your knife but holding the tail and don’t let the skin go. Pull the fish towards you and not the knife. the knife flat towards the head. Takes a couple of times to get the gist of what I’ trying to say . If you find the tail hard to grab put a wee pile on the tai to give you a grip. All the best to you all. Rab❤ My love to the pups also 😊
Calendar just arrived in Oxford Mississippi. Absolutely delighted. Thank you! And extra ear scratches for Jack and Nori, great dogs they are a credit to you. Just love to watch them play and interact with you, and each other. All the best. Cindy and Bill.
wow i have just finished binge watching every one of your vids living the dream great vids great home and cute Doggo's and yes Willie you really do need to publish a cook book your cooking looks delish sara your art is stunning cant wait to see what you all do next keep up the good work
Hi Willie and Sarah! Another great video…. I’m always sad when the video ends… it seems like the time flies by! Looking forward to seeing if the clams work for bait.. I hope they do! 🤞🏻🤞🏻. Have a great week! Kisses to Jack and Nori! ♥️🐶♥️🐶
Dog Sushi now that’s an idea, Jack and Nori seemed to enjoy it. I think being feed with chopsticks was what threw them. Sarah your homemade Sushi looked delicious 😋
What a wonderful episode. I learned something every week when I watch your TH-cam episodes. By DNA I am 97% Scottish so I really look forward to learning about my home country.
Trying to catch up on my fav foursome, sick for awhile. Another fun video, you always make my day better ! The sushi looked yummy Sarah, now you're a pro 😋 Hugs 🥰🥰 xx
They looked great; don't like sushi, but I'm glad you both enjoyed them. How did the dogs like them? I hope they ate them too. I loved the Talisker place with that great music. I would have had to buy something for a souvenir! Have a good week. (from Sandi)
Your sushi looked great! It was interesting seeing you fillet the fish. My dog used to roll on the nets left out to dry by fishermen. Talk a bout a C stinky dog !!
Hi guys finally caught up on ure videos love them always.sushi looked amazing good on u sarah, even doing nori and jack some ure boys congratulations for ure 60k well deserved and thank u for sharing ure videos on ure life on syke.🤙❤xxx
Hi Guys, Glad all 4 of you enjoyed your sushi 🍱 but sorry I had to definitely fast forward when Willie was cutting the fish 🫣 all the best guys Lin 🙂💖👍
Sarah have confidence in yourself. You make cooking as hard as you want. Sorry not coming for tea. Fish and seafood allergy. As a chef i wore double layer of gloves when handling fish and seafood. Yes a sharp knife is the best thing. There are more accidents with blunt knives than sharp. You put more pressure on a blunt knife. Yet another excellent video. 🏴🏴🏠🌹❤️
Sarah I love that you prepared the rice exactly as my Japanese mother-in-law would have done. Always rinse, let soak for 15 to 20 minutes, cover and bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low and let cook covered for 20 minutes. My husband loves Onigiri, his mother made that for a treat when they would go to the beach. Everything looked fantastic!
Great Sushi Sarah , I tried making it once , disaster , so I’ve learnt a lot from you tonight. Those two beautiful dogs , so well behaved , & gentle taking the food 👍. Great job. 😘
Toast your nori over an open flame till it crisps up. That'll elevate the flavor a wee bit. Also, those razor clams you dug up would make fantastic sushi or sashimi. You're right there on the water so whatever you haul out of it will be great. You can also brine up any fish in a TBS of salt and 2 TBS of sugar in a cup of water. Make sure everything is covered and let it marinate for 3-4 hours. Sorry this doesn't work very well with clams, shrimp, or squid/octopus - just fleshy fish. Buon appetito!
The sushi looked very professionally made, Sarah and Willie....very pretty. All 7 of my grandchildren and their parents love sushi. I and my husband, however, are not fans, but it looked very pretty!
Some people skin the fish by making the incision at the tail like you did and then pulling the tail toward the knife whilst kinda scissoring the knife side to side....puling the fish into the knife.
Willie's jumper colors coordinate so well with the colors of the squint picture behind you! I sure hope my effort to use the Scottish vernacular was correct!😂
Sushi for the dogs is SOOO EXTRA! I love it! I'd do it too if I ate sushi. 😂 BTW, superb filleting there Willy. Another enjoyable video. Have a good week xx
Hello Sarah and Willie, and Jack and nori, such a great video today as always. I can't eat seafood because I have a seafood allergy. But it's interesting how you made the seaweed egg rolls. And I'm sure that's not the exact terminology sorry for that. Glad to see Willie actually caught some seafood to use as bate. Looking forward to your next video as always.❤

EAT THE CLAMS! Use the mackerel for bait when you get them.
This!
This! I'm from New England in the US! I'm cringing at the thought of clams as bait. Steam those puppies!
That music was pure HEAVEN at the Talisker! Thanks for sharing that 💚
It was such a nice surprise to hear it 😊 Those girls were very talented
I love this channel because it is wholesome, kind, non political and provides a nice vicarious escape for us. And the 4 main characters are good people. Yes, I think dogs are people too.

Thank you All, you are delight to watch alway enjoyable 🙏✝️🙏🇨🇦
Love that you guys think of others who may not have the stomach or possibly be vegans/ vegetarian & give them a time stamp to forward to.
Hi Willie and Sarah - I'd make a New England Clam Chowder with those clams! Enjoy your channel and videos! Thank you!
In New England the clam you found is called a “ steamer”. After removing the black skin on the neck they can be dipped in batter and deep fried. They cost about $20 for about a dozen.
They can be steamed and settled in a bowl like mussels.
@@judyrochon And they are so so good! WITH the belly!
Try eating the Clams rather using them as bait, delicious !
"I want to share the things that I love with the dogs that I love" ...totally! I feel sad I can't give my pooch the joy of real chocolate, lol!
Sushi looked delicious. I love clams with linguine and a butter garlic sauce. 😋
The boys faces waiting for sushi. 🥰🥰
So delightful❤
The two of you impress me every week with your well rounded episodes . It looks like we here in Canada are warmer than you . At least extreme southern Ontario. Wish I could go fishing with you Willie .
Thanks guys....I loved watching Jack eyeing up Nori;s Sushi.....what beautiful dogs they are! Well done on the Sushi too....looked fab x
Your sushi looked delicious!!! Well done! And the clams would also make yummy chowder!
Another great episode!
❤❤❤❤
I was thinking clam chowder would be good with those clams. They are big.

Haha I said that at the time! 😅
Happy Sunday everyone ❤
Sarah is such a pure soul making sure all her boys get sushi treats- top work as always and big love to you all x

Moving so far away from Fisher and Donaldson's fudge doughnuts must be a huge wrench....
A treat whenever I go to St Andrews!
You know you’re back in civilisation when you can buy those 🤣
@@livingtheskyelifeFirst thing I bought this weekend after 6 hours drive North.
Wow when are we to expect the Skye Life Cook Book? And I’m so excited to receive my beautiful calendar 😊❤

Dog Sushi now that’s an idea, Jack and Nori seemed to enjoy it. I think being feed with chopsticks was what threw them. Sarah your homemade Sushi looked delicious 😋
Yes - there’s a good reason they don’t make chopsticks for dogs 🤣
12:41 your prints are beautiful
Bouillabaisse to be made from the unused fish parts. Fish to sit on rice for a while to infuse, toasted sesame seeds? Japanese Garlic mayo over top.
Well done on the sushi.I would rather eat those clams than use them as bait haha.Happy that busnees is good Sarah.Regards from Malta ❤❤
That sushi looked very professionally put together 😊 you four definitely have a blessed life ❤
Video was great as usual, BUT that Willie's sweater is a knock out! I come here for the dogs and the jumpers!
Another great video. I'm a bit late watching this video. Those clams are pretty good. Look forward to next week to see if they work.
Fresh Mackerel can be used to make Gravad Mackerel

My favourite part of this vlog was viewing the hills in the background while Willy was digging clams. That and watching the spaniels trying sushi!
Always get excited for Skye Life videos!
So glad the home made Skye Sushi turn out well!
Your sushi looked great! It was interesting seeing you fillet the fish.
My dog used to roll on the nets left out to dry by fishermen. Talk a bout a C stinky dog !!
Willie and Sarah, Congratulations! Thanks for another lovely video!
i think filleting then freezing the fish for the next day keeps it fresh!
Great video again, guys. I went through Kirkcaldy on the train on Friday - slightly different to Skye 🤔
Really enjoy watching your adventures
Good job on the sushi Sarah. I’ve had the bamboo mats for years. Maybe it’s time to christen them😊 I love sushi.

A very enjoyable half hour..thank you. Cheers from NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿
Good luck with those clams. Hope you land some whopper fish!
❤such I looked great🙏🙂
That took a lot of effort digging up bait and also making the sushi, but it looked very yummy when you set it all out.
I remember having fun digging for lug worms with my dad, happy memories ❤
When digging lugworm throw the first forkful away as it's generally just silt it's the second forkful down that's where the worm's live...👍👍
Sarah that sushi making was a 10 but where is the wasabi 😂. Lovely video❤️❤️❤️❤️💞
That's some serious sushi 😋 thanks for all you do .. loved the Scottish fiddle also ❤
.
Sarah you did awesome making that sushi. I make a vegetarian sushi with carrots, cucumber, asparagus, and avocado.
Love the.Theme.Song.
