Over here in Canada and the U.S. we wear a snug belt over our wellies. This helps prevent them from filling with water and sinking us if we fall into the water. 😮
Just subscribed, I'm a 73 year old retired health care professional from Lancashire the original home of Sea Hog Boats. I have always had great admiration for those who can draw or play musical instruments. I can't do neither but I can fish and was fortunate to own a new Sea Hog Hunter in the early 90s. I love nature and the outdoors so your brilliant channel ticks all the boxes, it wouldn't surprise me to see it grow to become a 100k channel. looking forward to more fishing adventures in 2025 and always happy to offer tips. Dont forget the trailer maintenance and especially the bearings, always keep a spare handy packed in grease. I once had to leave my boat and trailer on the hard shoulder of the M62 to go and find a bearing supplier. Changing an offside trailer wheel bearing on the busy M62 is not something i would ever repeat. Wishing you both every success, a pleasure to watch the result of your hard work and talent.
I think the green adds warmth, blue is generally a cold colour. I looked at light reflecting colours when painting my north facing kitchen in a light sage green. The new poster is ace x
There's something so very lovely about having seasonal changes and the ebb and flow of the tide drive what needs to be done. It's not an artificial deadline - unlike month-end which drives the accounting work I do.
Great to meet you last week Willie and later Richard! A pleasure bumping into you both on Skye, thank you for stopping and having a wee chat with us. Of course before leaving Skye we popped to Cafe Cùil and bought a couple of Sarah’s amazing prints. Keep up the great work guys 😊 Happy Birthday Willie, hope you had a lovely relaxed day 🎉
Kinlock Forest. Now you need a Green Man in your home. It will reflect your love of nature. I know you could sketch one Sarah and I believe it will bless you home.
You guys did an amazing job on that music video. Willie your song and your voice are so amazing and you're so blessed to have Sarah by your side she is so sweet, supportive, and such an amazing person person.
I like Kinloch Forest as it has a slightly warmer tone. When winter is long the blues can affect your mood. The warmer tones will be more soothing and uplifting to your mood in winters months. It also looks more agricultural if that makes sense....with the whole grow your own food motif.....just my two cents.
White for me. It is cheaper and easier to redo. Dark colours can be depressing. White enhances the available daylight. Great video as usual from the Skye life team.😊
😂it’s at an arty angle Willie & the designasaur getting up close & personal Sarah 😝 ahhh! Betty… bless her wee rudder! a fine season was had considering the pants summer we had, you guys did well! 🌅 rest well beloved ‘Betty’, until next spring ⛵️x
I would agree keep it light. If you keep your cupboards the light cream/ white colour that will give you the light and you could then go for a darker colour to the walls. The green doesn’t quite match the poster colours but as you have the poster you could go along to the paint 🎨 shop again. Good luck. You have winter months to hunker down and enjoy your kitchen project all in readiness for spring season and planting out. Enjoy xx😀🇬🇧
The puzzle you when finished in picture frame and have on the wall 😢😢that what we do frame glue in place all put up on wal as pictures ❤❤❤❤ I love everyone of them
First, the bloopers were a hoot, and Nori eating the barnacles was so funny!! The editing of your 2024 boating season montage was really well done. I love how much you love the people, animals, places and things in your life on the Isle of Skye! Thank you for sharing with us!❤️
Literally seconds before you said it I was thinking “A man and his boat”. The painting/canvas is as it should be, whether it is crocked or not is immaterial.
I prefer the darker coloured paint as its more homely and in keeping with the style of the cottage, if your room doesn't get much light anyway you will probably put a light on in there when cooking or preparing food. 💕🇦🇺
I love the McLeod’s maidens colour. I think the poster really pops against it, and it’s a lovely colour, but it is your home, and I’m sure that any one you choose will be stunning.
Darker blue cupboards are all the rage. Refreshing the walls with a touch of light color from your color choices from your lovely poster would be gorgeous. Love this weeks video. Love seafood ❤ the pups are super adorable 😍
Brilliant video...lighter on the walls and darker on the kitchen cupboards or darker below and lighter above as the tan woodwork is not my choice but do what makes you happy. Love colour in a home as you definitely see the owners personality big hugs ❤
Hi Sarah and Willie, we really like the MacLeod’s Maidens! The color works really well with the poster as well with the wood trim and paneling. Just our thoughts 😊 Loving your videos from Canada!
If it was my cottage I’d paint the door frames and wall panelling (maybe white?) then you can go a bit darker on the walls….i know it’s more work but it would really lighten the kitchen 👍
MacLeod's Maidens or Kinloch Forest work well with the poster, as well as with the existing wood surfaces in the kitchen. Beautiful day to drydock Betty. Another wonderful video. Cheers to you all from Ontario Canada 🫶🇨🇦
For me, green is the best colour, guys! I like the war posters, too. I have always fancied getting one of those iron advertisement holdings for soap, mustard powder, Bovril, etc. They are so cool but costly! Enjoying the decorating. It is definitely a cold day job, right enough! :)
Hi Sarah & Willie, wow! You lucky people, fantastic scenery, fantastic lifestyle. I think l agree with Willie, your winter light is a lot darker. I don’t think you need a dark kitchen. You’re the artist Sarah think outside the box 😊.
Hello from Canada. Consider a nice light green for your kitchen, it is cheerfull and easy on the eyes and brings the outside indoors, very useful in the winter months to keep your spirits up. Thank you for your wonderful video and music to complement it .
Glad Betty is in for the winter so there is no stress for a storm. I think either of the blues work well with the poster and that the poster is perfect for the Skye Life Cottage. Thanks, have a great week.
I noticed "Dino" is riding aboard Sarah's necklace. How funny.... Beautiful scenery bringing in the boat and now I remember why we don't have a boat anymore.
M M colour is lovely but it's your cottage and you need to love it too. Belated birthday wishes willie🎉. Nice to see Nori up to no good 😂 I have nicknamed my spaniel sassy spaniel 😂 omg they are up to no good 99.9% of the time, Jack is perfect gentleman. Lovely last fishing trip. Great video as usual thanks
The green is quite lovely, but you could paint the walls the lighter blue. Paint the base cupboards Spar Cave and the upper cupboards Linda's Wedding. Then change the cupboard hardware to match some of the color in the poster.
The boat is fantastic for your recreation and to supplement your food supply and it's great to see you both taking care of it , so well done both of you 👏👏👍
Hello Sarah and Willie, Sarah I think the paint color blue tone with a touch of green. Would look good in your kitchen. Good team work on bringing in the fishing pods. And working together to get the boat back into the driveway. Looking forward to your next video. I so enjoy watching them on Sunday evenings.
I am with Willie. Over a long cloudy winter, you are going to appreciate a bright kitchen. I love a yellow kitchen for the mood lifting lightness in the dark winter. That poster is great!
FYI with your cupboards, if the plastic veneer peels off in one piece, you have vinyl wrap. Just take it off, then sand the timber composite doors (and cabinetry if you want) and then prime and paint. I did that with my cupboards and it saved me $5000 in new kitchen costs! You don’t even need that crazy expensive renovators paint which they make to go on vinyl or laminex coated cupboards. Plus the. You end up with painted timber composite doors etc that are fully seals and fine for kitchens, and which you can just sand and paint again if you want a different colour one day. Again saving so much cash! Benchtops are fairly easy to replace and not too costly or you could put your savings into a nice stone one ;) Either way, I’d be doing that!
I'm with Willie, lighter color for the kitchen. As always, your music was perfect with the boat montage. Sara, your loft looks like my basement storage, and I need to tidy and purge too!!❤❤❤
Sarah you should paint that sunset and call it sunset over the Lach or the lach ‘s name. It would sell because it is. Exotic and beautiful and you are so talented
An idea for your kitchen: Just paint the cabinets, shelves and the bottom half of the walls the color of your choice. This way the walls won't be so dark in winter. And the part of the wall that gets painted will bring out the color in the poster. But the upper part of the walls should have a fresh coat of a white paint. *** Just an idea! *** I like your crooked painting!
Hi guys 😢😢😢 sad Betty is tucked away for the winter, well done though both of u worked like a dream. Glad u managed to get some crabs and lobsters for ure last trip.so funny nori biting those barnickles of totally ignoring u willie.loved where the dinosaur was 😂 sarah.❤xx🤙
I liked the lighter shade of green. maybe paint the paneling a creamy color? Love the poster. Now you get to look forward to next years boating season. That was an impressive Highland Bull..
I like the idea of painting the woodwork a colour and using a warm white for the walls. I know painting natural wood is controversial, but it is traditional and would have been painted in olden times. I like all the colours but prefer the green for its warmth.
Color ... I like to look at the color against what is out the window. For example, I painted my living room a warm gold as outside is pine forest. The gold and green are pleasing to me. I tacked a number of paint samples on different parts of the walls to see the color in different light. With all of that said, I think I got lucky with my choice :) ... But, wow ... your way of story telling in your videos is just superb: cinematic, peaceful, authentic and fun.
Hi to you both , great video , bringing back your boat , sad 😞, but you’ve had a good fishing 🎣 year . I like the kinlock Forest green , gives depth to your kitchen . Love the poster . Hope you enjoyed the crab & lobster 🦞. 😘👍👍
Quite a project - getting the boat out of the sea. Enjoyed this video. And I like the light blue for your kitchen walls. Thanks for this video. Have a great week.
Loved this video today....all the boat stuff was fascinating and so many beautiful shots and insights into what boating and fishing is like where you are. I prefer the darker teal colour because it brings out the warmth in all the woodwork and gives a glow to the room. The more yellowy green just makes the room look dull and drab and it doesn't complement your poster.... 😊
I think that McLeod’s Maidens matches the two background colours of the poster, (whereas the first darker green did not), and I think there’s enough green in it that it won’t be cold and depressing in winter. We’re big fans of natural wood, so not keen on the “paint the woodwork idea.” In the end you have to live with it so choose what you love. Great images in the water today!
Have you considered painting the tongue and grove, using a colour of your choice from your tester pots, then to brighten up your kitchen walls using bright white?
You could use either blue if you painted the orange panelling white or off white to lighten up the room. It would make a nice contrast with the darker blue. And you could paint some of the cupboards to match the panelling.
The darker storm blue is my favorite, but all of those paint colors are gorgeous so you really can’t go wrong! Personally, I would choose to paint all of the kitchen’s woodwork, which would brighten the whole kitchen and really distinguish it from the rest of the cottage (wouldn’t fret about painting that wood because there is plenty of cozy wood featured elsewhere throughout the cottage). So along those lines, option 1 = paint all wood & cabinets white, paint the walls in the storm blue; or option 2 = cabinets white, wood paneling in the storm blue, and walls in the lighter blue. Just something to think about.
Great news, your beautiful calendars have arrived, one for me and one as a present! Looking forward to using them in 2025. Thanks for all your hard work. 👍🏻👏🏻❤️
I am terrible about picking out colors for walls and cabinets so I am leaving it up to you :) I love the poster you chose, it fits your lifestyle. Wonderful sunset!
At our old house, we painted our kitchen cabinets the green color & at our current house, our kitchen tile is the blue color - you can’t go wrong with either color 😅 Loved the boat montage! 🦀🦞
We like the deep mythical blue green of Milovaig Storm! 😁 Also - Willie piloting, Sarah with the grappling hook coming in with the sun setting behind - was really a great shot.
Wishing Willie a very Happy Belated Birthday 🥰 Although you have probably already painted, I also liked the Melvaig one or the Macleod, but ...... the green went better with the poster 🤪🤪but definitely go with A colour than leaving it white. Booooooring haha 😂🦋
I have had a big thought, I thought it would be great if the boat had a change of name. And the new name could be ......... BIG SEADOG You have 2 little Sea dogs . I'm pleased you ended the fishing season with a lobster and fish.

I love the darker blue with that poster, but I agree with Willie that lighter blue Macleod’s Maiden is the winner.

TO FUNNY I JUST NOTICED THE DINOSAUR ON SARAH'S NECKLACE.😅 ""DID ANYONE ELSE NOTICE IT?"". GREAT VIDEO
I did! 😂🤣
@@AnnSarasvati Yes I did. First noticed Dino wasn't on his usual lurking spot - the picture. Then spotted him as Sarah's fashion accessory. 😂
I think the green adds warmth, blue is generally a cold colour. I looked at light reflecting colours when painting my north facing kitchen in a light sage green. The new poster is ace x
Green is also known as a cool colour
I think you should paint the wooden panelling in one of your colours and keep the walls light , kind regards
The first colour, the green one. It’s cheerful and gives your kitchen that homely feeling and warm.
Totally agree, the first one!
Absafrigginglutly the lighter green is better 😎
👍
The first one 👌🏽love the green ❤

Milovaig storm looks striking and I would paint the woodwork panelling this will make the kitchen more contemporary and your own x

Definitely the greener one. Looks much warner and richer. Blue doesn't necessarily make a room lighter, just colder feeling
My vote is for Kinloch Forest!

Watching on a Monday for a change.... but hey its still a great watch. Winter is Coming🐉 indeed Sarah. 🤟🤟 Squinty picture and Dino necklace 😂
You guys are so cute with your antics & humor.
Nori and the barnacles were unexpected!!! Never seen that before!😮

MacLeods Maiden is my vote, and what a great poster for the kitchen and so appropriate to your way of life!
Yes, I think the lightest color in the kitchen would be best. And Nori eating the barnacles? Strangest thing I have ever seen! Here comes winter!
ABSOLUTELY! THE COMPLETE PACKAGE.... ENJOY! WE LOVE YOUR VIDEOS...THANK YOU SO MUC...
Kinloch Forest green is the warmest and most cheery!
I love the McLeod’s maidens colour. I think the poster really pops against it, and it’s a lovely colour, but it is your home, and I’m sure that any one you choose will be stunning.

MacLeod's Maidens or Kinloch Forest work well with the poster, as well as with the existing wood surfaces in the kitchen. Beautiful day to drydock Betty. Another wonderful video. Cheers to you all from Ontario Canada 🫶🇨🇦
Lovely that the pots brought in deliciousness for a final celebration!!!

Medium blue looks great and makes the artwork pop! Spectacular sunset!

I’ve never like white walls….so I see your desire for colour…besides YOUR AN ARTIST!
Hi Sarah & Willie, wow! You lucky people, fantastic scenery, fantastic lifestyle.
I think l agree with Willie, your winter light is a lot darker. I don’t think you need a dark kitchen. You’re the artist Sarah think outside the box 😊.
Love the poster, go for the lightest colour, if not white, that way the wall won't clash with any other wall art that floats your goat.
I have to agree with Willie, the lighter the better in the kitchen.

Refresh the walls in a creamy white and paint the cladding, I love mine.
The light blue was lovely
The darker paint would look fab on the wood panelling and maybe lighter on walls?
Love your channel. I don't miss an episode. I suggest the lighter blue.
Thanks!
The first colour was lovely. Or you could have a feature wall and keep the other walls white for the light. 😊
Nice crabs, yummy 😋
Well, I was thinking about Mango color for the kitchen. Happy, sunny in the day and warm cozy for the evening. If not, one of the 2 💙.
I think the first paint was the nicest goes perfectly with the poster 😊
Milovaig Storm looks lovely!
Another vote for painting the panelling and keeping wall white!

The lighter blue on 3 walls and the darker blue on the 4th wall - great poster.

Do colour in the kitchen ,all 3 colours are lovely and the colours of the sea at the beginning are stunning ,
Great video again liked all the colours but I think go for the lighter colour. Thanks again have lovely week 💕 xx
Sarah's hair in the sunset light ❤ (OK, late afternoon sun 😅)
Darker Blue ❤. I'd be tempted to paint all that pine too..... It'll look great no matter what you choose.

Hi to you both , great video , bringing back your boat , sad 😞, but you’ve had a good fishing 🎣 year .
I like the kinlock Forest green , gives depth to your kitchen . Love the poster . Hope you enjoyed the crab & lobster 🦞. 😘👍👍
Macleods Maidens gets my vote can you try this and if too dark a half strength version for your final coat
Quite a project - getting the boat out of the sea. Enjoyed this video. And I like the light blue for your kitchen walls. Thanks for this video. Have a great week.
Get some "block blue light" bulbs. It will make a huge difference to your winter blues.
Either of the blue colors look better than the green

You could use either blue if you painted the orange panelling white or off white to lighten up the room. It would make a nice contrast with the darker blue. And you could paint some of the cupboards to match the panelling.
The green one named after a forest, gives a comforting feeling.

Hope Willie had a great Birthday weekend 🎉
At our old house, we painted our kitchen cabinets the green color & at our current house, our kitchen tile is the blue color - you can’t go wrong with either color 😅 Loved the boat montage! 🦀🦞
We like the deep mythical blue green of Milovaig Storm! 😁 Also - Willie piloting, Sarah with the grappling hook coming in with the sun setting behind - was really a great shot.
Aww, I thought Willie’s bait bucket taking flight down the loch would have made the memories reel. 😅 Macleods Maiden has my vote.
BIG SEADOG
You have 2 little Sea dogs .
I'm pleased you ended the fishing season with a lobster and fish.
