    Great video Matt. I’ve never tried reducing the number of wires. I’m refinishing a Mapex kit and will give this a try as I reassemble the snare . Also going to check out the ribbon you use. Thanks!

      Thanks Frank! I originally got the idea from Puresound Equalizer wires. I liked the concept, but not those specific wires so much. Also, the idea of fewer wires is heavily exploited by Sonor, with Gavin Harrison's Protean snare drums. When you buy one of his snares, you get 3 sets of wires, all of which only have 8 wires each. That helped me confirm you don't need 20, 30, or 42 snare wires to get a good sound.

    Hey Matt, hope all is well. What's the size of the round rug?

    • @flacche

      I doing well thanks, and hope the same for you. The carpet is 8' round, and for sale, but I have a feeling you're not going to pick it up in NJ... haha!

    Awesome videos as always... Wy did you switch from Pearl to Tama? thank you for your time and inspiration.

    • @flacche
      @flacche  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. Actually, I originally played Tama. I switched to Pearl because of their custom program, Masterworks. But I ran into quality issues with Pearl. It was easy to go back to Tama drums... they sound and feel better to me.

    Hello Matt thank you for posting. I’m really particular about the sound of the snare drum. I’ve ordered my new Drum set and waiting for it to get here. I had a 7x14 Cherry shell but didn’t care for the sound. I went with a 5.5x14 Cherry/Spruce snare. When my set arrives if I have any questions would it be alright to contact you? I found this video extremely helpful. Thank you for your time. Beautiful and Amazing Drum Set!

      Of course, you can contact me through my website, www.flacche.com. Make sure you send pics, so I can see how nice your new drums are. Also, if you have specific questions about a drum, snap detailed pics that would help me answer your question.

    I’m confused how your Tama star snare has incorrect bar lugs, those are the same bars as your slp snare, was that a custom choice?

    • @flacche
      @flacche  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They are neither "incorrect" nor "bar" lugs. They are Tama solid brass tube lugs. They are a custom modification I make on all of my Tama Star snare drums, as I don't care for the MSL90SC lugs.
