Great video, great advice. 🙏👌👍👍 I have to admit, that I bent the rollers back the same way as you did, but not in a vice. Mine were still attached to the snare. Probably because I was too lazy to disassemble everything. 🙈 But it also worked fine. No harm to the shell. 🙋♂️
Any ideas on finding a replacement roller throwoff for a mid 80's Tama 14x6.5 Bell Brass? The internals on the throwoff side are worn out, making it difficult to operate.
I would look for another model as a donor…. Powerline or an Imperialstar perhaps. Failing that one may show up in the usual places like ebay, reverb etc 👍
They are ok - just not a great deal of clearance. Puresound also offer extended wires and there is a guy in Canada called Kevin Cundy from Star Drums who makes some excellent replicas. In regard to touching the edges it comes down to personal taste and tuning but they should be equal both sides regardless. How much contact you need is down to your ear 👍.

I got one for sale. I'm located in Germany.
Very nice snare, do you think that kind of springs (Pearl) are the best for that drum? Should springs touch of the drum edge?
