- Use this primer as a running warm up to crush hills! At Mobility-Doc we have learned through experience that there is a specific way to target and activate the movement patterns and muscles you need to successfully complete a task. Whether it's running, walking, lifting, swimming, you name it!
This Primer is specifically for runners to help you prime all of the muscles you need to tackle the hills you're going to face during the Quadzilla 15k with more power! Quadzilla is a race in the Lehigh Valley. It's a trail race with lots of difficulty including many hills. This targeted running warm up is going to help you open the front of your hips so you can better activate your glutes.
Here's how it works:
We take 3 exercises to holistically improve your flexibility, stability, and strength. This gets your muscles ready to take on whatever you need them to!
The 3 exercises are:
Standing Hip Flexor Stretch: Hold for 30 sec per side
Standing Hip Circles: 10 per side
Lunge to RDL: 5 per side
Repeat these 3 exercises circuit style. This shouldn't take more than 15 minutes! Use them before every run for the best benefit.
You can also use this as a rest day routine to improve your overall mobility in the hip area. Happy Running!

Excited for my first Quadzilla this year. Thanks for posting this!
Let’s us know if you have any questions!! 💪
I really enjoyed this video. As someone who has experience in exercise physiology and fitness, this was a very thorough video that justifies why doing exercises as a runner is so important. I have only volunteered for Quadzilla, but will be running it for the first time this year. I’m looking forward to using these exercises not just for the race but for a lifetime.
Thank you for sharing this here. We’re excited for you. Please feel free to share and ask any questions.
