What a time to be supporting both Ajax and Man U. Layers upon layers of pain.
At least Man United probably won't be relegated
@@baseupp12 Not jet
@@baseupp12But they are unarguably more painful to be a fan off.
United has unlike Ajax almost unlimited funds that rivaled Cities budget year after year.
15 years ago they were arguably the biggest club in the world (although i personally would disagree).
For 10 years now United is a story of disappointment, immense investments with no payoff, a talent dead end. Waste money, waste players, waste young talents.
And ar the end of the day they never take the TINIEST BIT OF RESPONSIBILITY. Its always the players fault. But after 10 years of constant underperformed talents *and* stars maybe are indicative of a cultural problem in the Club.
They just don't want to he successfull. For me, Ajax Story looks like hella complacency.
@@gandalf_thegrey Everything you said is nothing but truth and explains my pain watching United this year.
@@gandalf_thegreyfinally a fan of United with logic and not only spamming “oil money” and “emptyhad” to City fans
They lost their manager, their CEO, their sporting director and half of their team within 2 seasons😭 Timber, Martinez, Tadic, Klassen, Onana, Blind, Mazraoui and Haller would be hard to replace even with Van Der Sar and Overmars
Kudas and Edson too
The problem is, they didn't even try. They have Owen Wijndal, Francisco Conceição and Naci Unuvar loaned out, a 40 year old goalkeeper, a lack of depth in the centre back position and a mediocre midfield, which they've spent a fortune on and they don't perform.
Actually, Ajax never needed to spend the enormous amount of money they did this last year. And they did it without proper care or scouting, which is more alarming!
For example, the squad needs a leader. They had the chance to bring back Van de Beek for the second season in a row and didn't do it. They needed a manager, couldn't splurge money on names like Marcelo Gallardo, Pochettino, Postecoglou, Nagelsmann, Antonio Conte and plenty other which where available.
It's a problem of bad leadership, nothing more.
@@theportugueselegend that’s why I mentioned the CEO and the sporting director, their Overmars replacement is shocking
@theportugueselegend the thing is, we wouldn't trust Van De Beek to perform well as he gets injured and doesn't play a lot and be realistic would any of these managers work with Ajax?
@@ChickenMusiala You should. Donny would be at home, would play in his favourite role and knows the culture at the club. Would be a role model.
Most of those managers play a possession based football and have nice adaptability to other leagues. Postecoglou and Gallard specially.
this is not the first time for Ajax that club is in chaos it happend also around 2000 but after a few years they bounce back with at time big help from Johan Cruijff, he can't help this time sadly but if Ajax relegated or don't win trophies for a long time I'll be there as a fan supporting my club in good and hard times. eens ajacied altijd ajacied
Basel, Lyon and Ajax all getting relegated would be mad. All once heralded as the best run clubs in the world known for giant killings in the champions league. Could feasibly all get relegated this season.
Ajax just won 5-0 and are in 8th while Lyon lost again and are rock bottom. The 4 time UCL winners will be fine 😊
They sold a lot of players for a lot of money too quickly. Not enough time to deploy the funds to replenish the squad. Losing Overmars and Edwin being out were a massive blow. Ajax will be back in a few seasons.
thats not the reason
they literally do that for the past 20 years
A few seasons might be too much to ask for.
@@gandalf_thegrey but have they done it without their CEO and a competent sporting director tho?
dawg this is their entire business model nothing has changed
They don't have a lot of control over departing players
0:53 Crazy that they’ve still scored so many goals
This is just pure pain as a Ajax fan man
Club Lyon fans feel the same way. Everton is also in some shit too
@SportsFan838 man we went 110 million in the ground with 11 foreigners where like 1 or 2 can't speak English
@@ChickenMusiala Now that's just scary to think about. Ajax is one of if not the best team in the Nederlands.
im a simple man, i see a new football iconic video, i click
Every club goes through hard times some more than the others, I have experienced it for a decade as a gunner. True supporters stay with the club through thick and thin and hope someday things get brighter
Quick asterix on their 12th place, as of right now. If you look at the table at 0:52 you see that Ajax has 11 games instead of 12 like the rest of the teams. This is because during their match against RKC Waalwijk, they had to cancel the match because the goal keeper of RKC had lost consciousness, who's fine now btw.
Tragedy aside Ajax would probably be in the 8th spot as they were up by 3-2 had this not have happened and if they win the continuation in the near future.
Great coverage as always 🫡👊🏿
Still will never understand how the sold Anthony for 85 mil
As a Utd fan we are finished and just overspend. But Ajax need to use it to invest
@@umarrazviLVG should have gone for Kane and Son for silly money, than the ridiculous money on trash.
Gutting your core of players will ALWAYS ruin your franchise.
wtf is "franchise"
The return of Louis van Gaal at Ajax isn’t mentioned. Hope he can help get Ajax back on top.
Been waiting for this one.
Really enjoyed your videos the last few years, some good shit
Why didn’t they keep the interim manager? Especially if they are gonna play so many young players that he coached in the academy
Best football channel out here man ❤❤❤
Your best video yet!
Im from rotterdam so love to see Ajax struggling. And my club Feyenoord was the first Dutch team to win a European trophy in 1970 and the last to win one in 2002
Yet a less successful club. AFC Ajax is the face of the Eredivisie lmaoo
If you ask me, this just proves how competitive the top flight leagues really are. Not just the prem
Might as well do Lyon next
another great video
the frontoffice has lost a lot of football knowledge throughout the years, and with the loss of players like Alvarez Tadic and Klaassen they lost all leadership on the field. After that the team just felt lost, new signings are hugely underwhelming
Feels nice to watch this
They did win 5-0 today tho and are now 8th but its been maddening to watch
basel and lyon fans sweating right now
Look mom look it’s another football iconic video
Glad to see you focussing on some of the smaller leagues!
It’s almost incredible to see
I always thought Ajax has lost its luster when they had to move from the De Meer Stadion and the Bosman decision. Losing the DeBoer brothers, van der Saar, Davids, Reziger, Kluivert, and the rest, were draining. And at the time, Ajax would find and develop players from Africa, and elsewhere along within the Dutch community, but other countries started scouting in those areas. If you are a talented young player, would you go to Germany, France, England, Italy or Spain, or would you go to the Netherlands?
The Bosman rule, hampered Ajax's ability to keeping their young talent at home. Moving into the stadium also hurts (I'm assuming they to keep cut spending like Arsenal did moving into the Emirates Stadium) and had rely on selling their young early or lose them on a "free". Ajax could no longer sell on their terms and use those monies to reinvest in youth set-up.
The last time I actually remembered Ajax was deep in the Champions League was in Kluivert's return to the club in their victory over AC Milan.
Semi final in 2019.Enjoyed watching the journey!!
So you never watched 2018-19 Champions League season lol
@a.demifemiflapo5795 After 1995, I was unable to follow any football because of work. I was AC Milan fan and had tocalled in sick to watch that Final against Ajax.

They probably will but prob will take some time
@@cheesewokka2930Ajax historically clear

This might be painfull for Ajax fans, this might be Ajax own fault because of some of their decisions. But this is literally why we said no to something like the super league. Many football clubs today are over 100 year old. There will come a season where even the biggest giants will fail. And that is exactly why we love football, for its ups and downs. “You are no longer Ajax” is not true, you stick with your team no matter the ups and downs if you truly care for your team. I should know, my team of EFB in Denmark is an old an succesfull club who got bronze 4 years ago. Now we’re in the 3rd best league. Look at nottingham forest. Look at Liverpool, City, Chelsea etc many teams who had years of gap before ever coming back to the 1st division or winning. In the end this is what football is about.
I never understand when some higher-ups sign players the actual manager doesn't know, or want... How can this even happen?
this is a funny time to make this because ythey've actually been turning things around these past couple of weeks. A month ago this would've been 100% true but now they are actually starting to win convincingly again.
West ham bought their two best players....
*UPDATE:* Ajax is now in 8th and in contention for a Conference League playoff spot...
I hope they'll be fine, Best academy
The fact now that Bodø/Glimt of all teams took a 2 - 0 lead on Ajax at the Johan Cruyff Arena says everything with Ajax this season. It was a lead that Bodø/Glimt bottled in extra time, true. But it's to be expected with how the Norwegian league is set up in comparison to other leagues. Bodø/Glimt are in their pre season. This Thursday Ajax comes to Aspmyra, and the UEFA conference league play off will be decided. And if earlier trips to Aspmyra by big european teams is any indicator, Ajax is going to be in trouble. Just ask Besiktas, Roma, Celtic, AZ Alkmaar, Lugano, maybe even PSV and Arsenal even though we lost to Arsenal and PSV.
Please have music link!
Pretty sure Daley Blind left (not signed) last season
Also from the signing I had only heard about Borna Sosa and Van den Boomen
Went to the ajax stadium on my trip to amsterdam.. beautiful stadium
Glad that Bhutan football club was mentioned.
It seemed like just yesterday thwy were making that deep run in the ucl... what a shame
After todays 5-0 win over Vitesse they stand 8th. Not be bad and definitely they coming back
Ajax problem is been always selling their best players as soon they can that is been the strategy of the club for long time .The club kept their best players just four times since 1975 but this common in Netherlands all clubs use this strategy selling players to everyone who can afford it.
santiago gimenez mentioned 😄🇲🇽
Do a video in Hertha BSC and their downfall!
In every other universe are Mislintat and Ajax the PERFECT duo.
Its kinda baffeling how this ended.
The streets won't ever forget the iconic ucl run of ajax in 2019.
We save this banger for tea. See you in 2 hours Tanasha
That Fergie meme was just beautiful 😂
The Ten Hag effect.
It's just Ajax they do this once a decade after a fire sale. Youth academy will spit out another ridiculous first team in a few years.
How did you like the Bijlmer?
Blind had been there for ages already under Schreuder's season so wasn't really a signing.
Damn
As an Ajax fan.. I am upset. Van’t Schipp please save us
That last quote about " no one's boss, but everyone is " is really bad, everyone wants to get there way but no one wants to take the full responsibility for leading the team, that's so telling more than people are willing to look into, its such a bull-- workplace political environment to be in, in any job
Make One on barca
Make a video about Slot and Feyenoord
You know your club messed up when your sporting director looks like Norman Reedus
It's sad to see a legendary club like Ajax struggle, and I hope they recover and flourish again. They've found and produced some of the most talented players in history, despite the bigger richer leagues turning them into a selling club not a final destination club some time ago.
Crazy of him to expect Dutch to be spoken in Netherlands, how aweful!
Not me being an expat supporting Man Utd living in Amsterdam, just 10 mins away from Johan Cruyff Arena...
the day you document united you will cry
Well Bayern coaches speak also German when the talk to the whole team. Every coach and player have to learn German as fast as possible. Look at guardiola
10:13 ironic how free transfer Van den Boomen is the only good one on the list
Honestly, need a what the is going on at Rosenborg
I swear weird shit has been happening in the football world recently.
Make a video about sporting cp
Looking at that player assembly I don't think i'd even want to buy a shirt with any of their names on the back of it.
Doubt Ajax right now has more than 25% homegrown or even eredivisie familiar players.
Faceless club
Man U please let them have Van de Beek, Antony and Onana back, maybe they can help Ajax more than they helped us!
Incoming reverse Jynx.
Seeing TheEuropeanLad cry on twitter every weekend has been a joy
I support Ajax & leverkusen
Bitter sweet time right now.
It's dangerous to sell every season half their squad. Just not a very smart strategy and it only worked for such a long time because the eredivise is such an uncompetitve league.
Daley Blind? He was at the club at the time. He wasn't a signing.
Bro I hate when former players just shit on the new players of their old club. It is not motivating! It’s demoralizing!
And when shit is this bad the issues are always systemic.
I really don't get how Mislintat still gets DoF jobs around big clubs in Europe. His only good stint was with Dortmund.
John van 't Schip…CHIVAS LEGEND!! 🇲🇽
Ten Haag , your club needs youuuuuu
finally time voor fc emmen to step up. a club with real history on top would be a nice change
If ten hag stayed at Ajax, both United and Ajax would be in better positions right now
still baffled how you're able to explain complex structures within a club with many details within a 15min video, so that d*mb*sses, whose first language isn't even english, like me can understand. best football content creator itw. by far. love. much love
entertaining AND educational!
It's happening with Benfica too. It will basically keep happening to any club that does not have a bottomless pit of television money like the English clubs do. This money does not solve all problems but what it does is allow a much bigger margin of error.
Oh yeah, Bhutan - that's some hot shit. 🙄
they forgot about SA Talents who were carrying ajax
The won a few games back up to 5th
Ten hag back to Ajax?
Ajax is in a rough spot and this season is pretty much lost. Since the manager was replaced things are turning for the better. It's still not Ajax worthy but at least they are winning matches. I can see them end up in maybe 5th or 6th place. Some of the players are beginning to develop, (Hato) and others are in better shape, (Brobbey, Taylor and Berghuis). As of yet Ajax are in 8th place, so they have definitely moved ahead in the ranking. That Mislintat scumbag causes quite a bit of damage, but nothing permanent. This is Ajax, and they will rise again, mark my words.
This video came a little bit too late though.
Ever since vt Schip took over, players are being put in the right place. And they have been performing better. I'm not saying the tables have turned completely, but the quality of football play on the pitch has been moderately better and is improving week by week.
You hear a lot of negatives about all the expensive signings of Mislintat, but most of them just need some time and opportunity to perform honestly. And that is all possible with current trainer. former trainer Steijn was very reluctant in playing the new signings, out of protest to Mislintat. Which was absurd. Glad he's gone.
This team has enough talent to at least crawl back to top 5 this season, so not all is lost yet.
And the turmoil within the club is slowly but sure being subdued as well by bringing in Van Gaal as an advisor and Danny Blind on to the supervisory board.
WIith talents like Hato and Brobbey (yes, i do believe he can improve his finishing), and decent signings like Sutalo/Akpom/VD Boomen, this team actually has a bright future! WZAWZDB
A month too late 🤣 they're not doing too bad atm just smashed Vitesse 5-0
Mislintat's signings at Arsenal weren't high quality lmao ngl it was a banter period then
It appears that the football balance is changing fast. The likes of Basel, Lyon, and Ajax are falling apart. Same goes for the national team, where you can see Brazil and Germany, who were traditional powerhouses in World Cup, entering a crisis mode. You can see this thing in HITC Sevens' video (he already made it yesterday).
Ajax are on a turnaround maybe... Now they sit in 5th place
I see this video pop up in my recommended feed, 4 months after uploading and I can tell u that its even worse now lmao
Tinashe Nengomasha
With all of the money they got selling flops to ManU you would think they're doing good
Ehh they are back to 5th now
Everybody be losing it over Ajax being mid table while Lyon, i.e. one of the most successful French clubs ever, is basically guaranteed to get relegated.
