3Nacion Ride 2024.
We started the race in Spain, then made our way through Andorra and France before returning to Spain. I completed the race in 5 hours and 1 minute, though I forgot to start my timer for the first 15 minutes. Had I remembered, my average speed would surely have been higher.
I stuck to my plan, following other riders and resisting the urge to take the lead during the flats. I kept pace with an Uno-X rider, who was incredibly fast.
The climb began as we reached Andorra. Unfortunately, I couldn't use my last gear as it dropped immediately, forcing me to rely on the second last cogs for the ascent. I didn't fuel properly during the climb and got overtaken by many riders in the last 4 kilometers to the summit. Despite this, I didn't stop except at the final station at the peak of Andorra, where I refilled my water and snapped some photos before heading downhill.
My disc brake bike performed amazingly on the descent, allowing me to take twists and turns with late braking and impressive speed.
At the base, I joined a group and cruised together towards the finish. However, with 10 kilometers to go, I started cramping and had to drop from the peloton.
In the end, I finished the race alone, but with a sense of accomplishment.
