I bought a GT aggressor pro because of your videos. I so far have upgraded to the microshift Acolyte 12-46T, Shimano Deore crankset with a 30t chainring, Shimano BB, CST patrol tires, Shimano MT 200 calipers,Shimano XT brake levers, 180 mm brake rotors, RaceFace Chester 50mm stem, RaceFace ride handlebars with 1” rise, cane creek 40 headset, RaceFace half Nelson grips, and Supercaz krypto pedals. It’s really a fantastic bike to tinker with!
I have a 2020 GT Agressor Comp. 29er medium frame in orange. the comp and pro were similar, but came with different components. AND BTW I love you two as a pair! Wolfman, you resonate with my soul buddy! An tick, you make me smile! Great video boys
FYI, the 8 speed version of that L-TWOO derailleur comes with the new Schwinn Taff Comp that’s currently $124 at Walmart, replacing the crappy Pro Rush unit. It’s model T8S with an effective switchblade clutch. I replaced the rear wheel and used an Acolyte 12-46t cassette with it. Works incredibly smoothly, just needed a b-screw adjustment and even had plenty of chain with the larger cassette. The bike is on clearance and goes in and out of stock. At 5’9”, it fit me perfectly, more like a medium Axum.
Yep, the L-TWOO T8s does work well. I bet it'll work with the 10 speed cassette with the Microshift shifter. I went to 10 speed and the Acolyte/Advent X 11-48T. Schwinn's 8 speed QR axle bends easy and I wanted to replace withe a sealed hub. Origin8 M3100 Ryde 25mm wheel set. When I removed the Schwinn rear wheel the axle was slightly bent. I didn't jump or drop with the bike at all.
Cornstars! It was nice to see the Orange GT Aggressor Pro get some time in front of the camera again. I have had good luck with Microshift. Wolfman is always right, the Tick is right when Wolfman's wrong. Hoping that infrared thermometer works for you guys, I like the fact it's got the laser beam so you can see exactly what you are checking and pinpoint small areas. Another epic Wolftick Video's production. Have a save weekend and try and stay cool and hydrated! 🦥
Maybe the confusion on the GT Aggressor vs. Aggressor Pro is that there are various models, Sport, Pro, Expert and I've even seen something called a Comp. The difference is the equipment features and I think some may be reserved for specific Big Box stores. I've only seen the Aggressor Sport at Dick's Sporting Goods as well as a few GT Avalanches.
Lol! The chain looks a touch short when on the big sprocket but that was a smooth swap out, as it should be! Tick you’re definitely more knowledgeable on the derailleur side of things these days! Every day is a school day man! I’m looking forward to seeing you guys messing with the internals of a fork for the first time! Biggest tip when doing this = cleanliness!!!
I bought an 11-50 cassette for my Diamondback, similar type drivetrain & used a mech hanger extension which gave me the extra lift to get over the 40t using a fairly standard rear mech. Even on the smaller 11-40 I did run the extension made the shifts smoother.
You guys are amazing. I just purchased a GT Aggressor pro and plan on upgrading it as much as I can as I just like to ride for cardio and go off road every once and awhile. solid content. can't wait for more on this series. already have my eye on a few upgrades from the last GT you guys had but waiting to see how this series goes since I don't know much about these parts! If you guys could explain what the parts do and how they improve the experience and also offer some other options for different applications!
For cardio I wouldn't upgrade. I'd throw out the fork if it breaks n put a rigid there. Throw on mixed or even road tyres. Schwalbe Supermoto/x , marathon Allroad. Something like that.
Let me know what you plan , I had hydraulic brakes handled bar, bar holder , single oval crankset, pedals , one maxxis 2.4 on the back with tube , and today just switched the casette 😅
You guys ever look back at your vids I love you take on the Aggressor from four years ago come along way since then with your review then keep it up lads 👌
I ride almost every day and have a TH-cam channel and I use my bike stand to store my bike in my house as well as to do maintenance on it , like bleeding brakes , greasing pivots etc,
That chain is fine. It is rare that you will ride extensively in 1st gear.... Nice job on that! Looking good. And Wolfman, you are pretty good looking.... LOL
The issue is the cage really there is a limit to how big you can go on the rear mech for example my Shimano alivio has a max of 36 tooth if I did run a derailure extender I could get a 42 on there but it would create unneeded stress on the drivetrain
Guys your channel is simply awesome it really gives me a huge smile as you two are funny, and cool. Love the GT Aggressor Pro it looks cool and i think it will be so awesome out on the trails guys, well done
Still waiting for you guys to review an avalanche. They were recently on sale for under 600.00. And the avalanche has much better geometry than the aggressor. Tapered headset more slack and will be much better in technical and downhill. Thanks guys love your videos!!❤😁😁
My buddy has a couple year older aggressor pro. We put a 42 on it. It barely makes it. We definitely should put an extension on it. But it works good for now.
You don’t remember the length of the rear hub? I wanna upgrade my group set…and btw im running 27.5x2.8 front rear tires and also have a 36t oval chainring. But im thinking it’s the 34mm rear hub.
I use a 34 in the front, and 42 is the biggest cog in the back, and while it's sort of enough, a 46 tooth would be even more enough than sort of enough. With a 30 in the front, a 42 in the back would be def enough for me, but it depends on how strong the rider is on climbs more than anything else.
REI sells other Aggressor Models maybe they got confused. People forget GT still makes nice bikes. They aren’t just at dicks and rei, they still sell in some bike shops.
@@instafeetch Hell no, 12-46T is ax available 8 speed. Get the Acolyte and use Advent X shifter and a 10 speed cassette. I works fine, same pull ratio.
When the son opened the thermometer, he put it to his Dad's head, and pulled the trigger. - I'm thinking, "No - it could be loaded", (like a gun.) But thankfully, it wasn't.
Hey guys a 29 inch wheels will fits i have 2 of them you do a 1x crank set an put a 29er fork an it operates just fine i have 2 gt aggressor pro like that a xl an a large
Excuse me Mr Wolf, Yes I Am an expert on MTB because Why, because I watched every one of the WolfTick videos and analyzed everything that I have seen, learnt and discovered from The Tick and y'all's such and such reviews, so yeah I am, and I ain't an Expert but a Pert without the "EX" meaning use-ta-be cause I have a Ex girlfriend and that doesn't mean that we are still fuukin... Duh, Naw !!!🙄🤔😏
I fit a 40 tooth on my first build, but I had to get a longer B tension screw. The stock screw was too short to clear. That was on a Shimano Deore Wide 9 rear derailleur.

I just installed a 11/46 with stock derailleur and stock shifter shifts as hell trying tomorrow at the trail ❤
Did it turn out pretty good? I'm about to do the same thing
Another great video! It's GT Aggressor "PRO" anyone who told you otherwise gets cited a Wolfticket.
Holy crap! Tick said Marzocchi right!!! And that chain length is perfect!
I put the micro shift advent X on mine and the Shimano 5100 crankset. Love it! So much better.
I rock a old school trek Y- 26 full suspension…. I love the geometry of this frame keep the videos coming….

I love a good Cohiba Black!! Good choice Wolfman.
That is a nice gesture from L-Twoo and that thing looks legit.

I can’t wait to start my upgrades on my aggressor pro getting a lot of info watching your videos keep it up

I was really surprised that cassette worked. Awesome video as always
Take care 🍻👍😎

I'm running a 11-48T cassette Advent X 10 speed with Trail Pro shifter using the Acolyte. Pull ratios are the same.
Guys your channel is simply awesome it really gives me a huge smile as you two are funny, and cool. Love the GT Aggressor Pro it looks cool and i think it will be so awesome out on the trails guys, well done
I changed my cassette on my Axum from the 40 tooth to a 32 tooth and paired that with the 34 tooth round up front. It climbs like a beast.
Still waiting for you guys to review an avalanche. They were recently on sale for under 600.00.

I'm running a 40T / 11-51 on my Large GT 11speed cassette w/12speed chain & XT derailleur
Do you still have the link to that 40t? I'm trying to do the same with my gt
I bought a small gt aggressor pro for $50 a few days ago. It's the same blue and green color scheme as your medium.
You don’t remember the length of the rear hub? I wanna upgrade my group set…and btw im running 27.5x2.8 front rear tires and also have a 36t oval chainring. But im thinking it’s the 34mm rear hub.
The pro word is used loosely by GT on this one😆. Best new bike for the money though, by far.
I use a 50t and use it often. 30t in front 10-50t 12 speed in back. Anyone saying 40t in back is to much is crazy.
You can or should be able fit a 42 tooth cassette on there I have one on my Trek Marlin 5 with a Box 4 8 speed derailleur
Did you change your tires? What size it is?..
REI sells other Aggressor Models maybe they got confused. People forget GT still makes nice bikes. They aren’t just at dicks and rei, they still sell in some bike shops.
I was able to fit an 8 speed 42 tooth with the b tensioner adjusted all the way and a file to the arm just a touch
I like you Wolfman! I act the same. And whiskey is a winner!
I put a 11-50 tooth cassette on my Aggressor and it runs great.
Now it climbs up them big hills like them expensive bikes.
What derailleur? Still an 8spd?
@@instafeetch Hell no, 12-46T is ax available 8 speed. Get the Acolyte and use Advent X shifter and a 10 speed cassette. I works fine, same pull ratio.
Hell yah man, my GT is still stock as far as drive train. Was gonna convert it to a 1x and then upgrade the cassette. I'll definitely look for a 50T
When the son opened the thermometer, he put it to his Dad's head, and pulled the trigger. - I'm thinking, "No - it could be loaded", (like a gun.) But thankfully, it wasn't.
So this is still technically a 1x8 set up!? Just got my GT aggressor and already have plans to upgrade group set and cassette to a similar set up
What crankset is that?
What do I do if my Cassette doesn’t come off my Gt aggressor pro does anyone have any suggestions?
😂😂😂 he said I kinda wanna see the balls😂😂😂😂😂
Hey guys a 29 inch wheels will fits i have 2 of them you do a 1x crank set an put a 29er fork an it operates just fine i have 2 gt aggressor pro like that a xl an a large
Why do you think Dicks jumps up and down on that price so much. 399 and then 299 and then maybe 699.
You are gonna bend that disc.
L-Twoo T 8s for sale if you want one.
Gotta look into that for sure 👍
Microshift 12-46T would be better. You don't need a GT to know the chain is too short.
💥✉️⏰💥
Chain is way short and a 30 teeth chainring would do a better job.
That's nasty!!!!
Short answer nope the max a microsift m26 can handle is 34 tooth
I fit a 40 tooth on my first build, but I had to get a longer B tension screw. The stock screw was too short to clear. That was on a Shimano Deore Wide 9 rear derailleur.
