  • This is why Brooklyn is the reason people are leaving Manhattan and moving. This amazing apartment is in Cobble Hill Brooklyn on Smith Street! Incredible location surrounded by shops, cafes, bakeries, just 22 minutes from Union square in Lower Manhattan. Would you live here or would you prefer to live in Manhattan in a smaller place, with a commute thats also around 22 mins? New York city is expensive and regardless of how you feel about this place, you cant argue with the rent because its such a cheap apartment.
Total rent is $3300 after incentives. Email the owner to learn more: Support@hrcesq.com 💎💯

Myra Alexandra You have to pay more then. You can't live alone by yourself and expect to pay less than you would if you had three roommates, lol. It's a trade off. Do you want to live by yourself and pay significantly more for that privilege? Or do you want to pay less and have roommates?

    • @bravedave90
      @bravedave90 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

@@Kevin-sm8pn living with a roommate is cool if your a recent collegegrad or transplant. But, as you get older and live in the city for awhile you'd want no roommates pandemic or not.

Marlo Yes, most people would prefer living on their own, but living by themselves would be significantly more expensive. If you're on a tight budget, the only way to do it is living with roommates or living with family. You can't live by yourself if you're poor, and that's the bottom line.

I thought this was the dream when I moved here last year. But for $1,100 you can get a full 1Br in a place like Seattle and over the last year, dropping over 1000$ a month on literally a single bedroom is impossible to justify. Either way, it looks really nice if you’ve got 2 friends moving to the city to share it with, great area, too.

    • @julenekearney8806

I'll say it again, 1100 does NOT buy you apartments like the one Cash is showing here, I have no idea where he found this one, it's the only one of it's kind, especially in a desirable, close to Manhattan neighborhood like Cobble Hill. I think many watching this will be misled. This is an insane find, too good to be true, a little fishy, actually...

I always find it interesting to see how apartments in other countries are build and their layout. I calculated dollars to euros and that seems a steal indeed in comparison to other places you show. As on the question with the street view - I prefer street view where you can see life going on, a backyard view where nothing really happens would be depressing to me. Whenever During a few holidays on my favourite city Budapest I had apartmemts facing the open courtyard. While they were more quiet, it was very quiet where you only occasionally saw someone walking across the yard or walkway.

At that rent, I’d do only one roommate and figure out another shared purpose for the third bedroom - the one with no closet. Doesn’t it seem like it was really a 2 bedroom and the landlord threw that wall up and divided the living room to make it a 3 bedroom. It’s a good size room. I’d lay it out as a living room. Do dining by the kitchen and then figure out what to do with the rest if that connected space. Desks, workout space, etc.

One room would be a guest room, the smallest would be the office, and I'd take the larger bedroom for myself. I also prefer an open layout floor plan, I am not a big entertainer, and I hate cooking, so the size of the kitchen and living room space works just fine for me.

A NAIL SALON!! The clincher! Save me the effort of walking 2 blocks to the next nail salon. Here in Manhattan whenever we see an abandoned store we know new business is gonna be either a bank or a Pinky Nails.

That random block of tile in the kitchen is kind of odd. I wish the landlord would have just left it alone. The apartment’s neighborhood seems really nice; busy without being too loud.

Nice. It's a jet tub. Never use soap when using the jets! All tubs: you HV to step up and over to get into!

The windows in the bedroom, cup of coffee and can ppl watch for days. A walk in closet in NYC is rare in traditional apartment.

I really like this apartment and the location it’s actually huge compared to some of the others. I would rather live in Brooklyn than New York City maybe someday I can check it out. ☺️

That room without a closet should either be combined to make a bigger living room or used as a home office. Also, does the building have any laundry?

The room without a closet would be my den, all my books, a desk, a comfortable chair.

Last room is my favourite too but if you’re in a relationship and have your “person” over you have more privacy by the living room ;)

Or one roommate and a really nice home office. Also, I would get a rolling counter top to section off the kitchen from the rest of it and give a little more room to work.

Having a bar downstairs could be problematic for the front bedroom, but otherwise second floor in a generally quiet neighborhood is a plus. No supermarkets close by, but you can patronize the local shops and Uber to Trader Joe's once a month for bulky stuff. Subway access to Manhattan is good. Do Brooklynites actually drink wine? I suppose the cooler works for beer, too.
The smaller rear bedroom would be best for a single bed, and the other accommodates a queen easily. This unit would work for a family, and if they had just one child the front room could be an office or studio. (An artist would appreciate all the light.)
The rent is higher than I expected for Brooklyn but still lower than you could expect in Manhattan for a comparable apartment.
