      Was just thinking the same thing. All of em seemed like a decent price & you’re right by downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope & Prospect Park & the train is really close. If I was in the market & it was just me or me & a significant other (which would be around 800/mo) I’d definitely be interested in any of the three.

      I like old bathrooms and designs but the last apt. The one bedroom that bathroom was beyond old. It’s in need of some TLC. Maybe it was just the yellow light that never flatters anything but that bathroom just seemed dingy and Grungy. The old tile looked old and it in a fab way.

    I just watched a Charles Munroe video of a studio in Manhattan that has a good location, an elevator, in-building laundry and a recently-updated kitchen, all for $1,760/month! These Brooklyn apartments now have competition, and they're gonna have to either upgrade or lower their prices.

    Hey Cash- quick youtube tip - the algorithm prefers videos over 10 min long. If you have videos that are already 9+ min long, just add a few more seconds of elevator music or whatnot to the end to make them 10:01 long. It would get you much more exposure since you're grinding out videos. Thanks for the great content!

      I think the deal is a video over 10 minutes can fit another ad, so it might be more profitable. Trying to stay ahead of the algorithm is kind of impossible but Cash is doing everything to grow this channel, and I think this will be a growing channel this year.

    I'm definitely paying too much for my studio in Astoria but I love that it's on the 1st floor. First door to the right as you come in. I use to live on the 4th floor of a building that had no elevator and it was a chore to carry my bike up and down those stairs. Never leave your bike outside over night. If it doesn't get stolen it may be vandalized. An expensive lesson I learned 3 years ago when I first moved in to my old place.

    The first cheaper studio was actually better than the second one. Having the kitchen separated from the living/sleeping area in a studio is a HUGE plus (AND good ventilation through a window is rare). The only thing is, and I know it gives "character", but if I could I would definitely get rid of these old fireplaces, in such small spaces it really limits your options of playing around with placement of furniture, and just makes it harder for the space to be customizable.

    You’re in my neighborhood! I love it and have lived within a square mile since I moved to NYC in Dec 91. My first apartment here was across the street from the second listing. Fun fact: There used to be a REAL Spanish restaurant where Chipotle is now. Between Vanderbilt Avenue and Flatbush Avenue, there are tons of shops, restaurants, etc. And two blocks down from the B and Q trains are the 2 and 3 trains. An additional three blocks and you’re at Atlantic Terminal, the transportation hub with almost every train in the system as well as the Long Island Railroad. Pardon the diatribe, but I really love my neighborhood.

    The neighborhood looks promising - good proximity to subway, shopping and restaurants. All three apartments are showing their age, but they do offer the basics. The first one looks to be on about the third floor, which is my limit for a tolerable climb, and it has enough space for a single (maybe with a single bed) to live. The other two must be fifth or sixth floor, and despite the fact that they have more square footage they don't offer significantly more of anything else for the higher price.
    If I had to pick one it would be the first, but I'd still shop around for something that was more updated.

    The one bedroom should have been left as a studio, but other than that those are some great apartments! I love that the classic touches have been maintained. Once again, these prices are reflective of the massive New York exodus. Too bad so many don't have jobs or money to rent them. 😪

      @@lindagarrido4353 A NET of 70,000 have left, not three million. Because while 3.57 million left, another 3.5 million have moved in (many of them lower income earners than those who left). It's important to note that very crucial detail. It's not like NYC is suddenly a city of only 5 million. ;) It is still a city of over 8 million residents.

    I lived in a 6th floor walk up, top floor, for 4 years. Thank God I was in my 20's. Athletic feat to get to it aside it was the most amazingly charming apt with an incredible view I've ever lived in.

  • @izzy1563
    @izzy1563 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Still probably too expensive. They all depressed me even though the last bath wasn’t too bad and it had a decent closet. Not sure what floor these were on. The renter will need to leave the apt to clean clothes and there was no intercom. Who wants to walk down several floors to see a stranger looking for someone who moved out a decade before. Wouldn’t be bad for someone rarely at home but would need to be a bit cheaper to make up for the drawbacks.

    Wanted to contrast current videos by watching this older one. Your videographer skills have really improved - this style is good, but the current is excellent. OTOH, many currently featured apartments are not within financial reach of the average person on an average salary if he/she wanted to live on their own. The apartments in this older video, while not updated, have more character and are within reach financially for more people. Suggest continuing to show a wide variety of apartments, not just new and fancy, to appeal to a wider audience. And please keep showing us Violet, if your wife agrees; she’s adorable and growing up so quickly! ❤️

    Those fireplaces were so beautiful. Relics of a lost age...sigh. Once, utilitarian; now, art. Loved the old tile bathrooms too. Talk about built to last!
    I'd take any of these places over most all of the apartments you've shown in Manhattan. So much character, charm, and natural light. Hopefully there are some of those left in Manhattan, but I bet they are VERY hard to come by.
