Nice Video, but Brooklyn is no longer just this grungy hipster place that everyone is making it out to be. They have high rise apartments rival Manhattan in terms of design and a lot of them that are just as expensive if not more. It is rapidly becoming an extension of Manhattan, pushing people further and further to the back of the borough.

    • @kc3074

Yeah exactly. I grew up in Brooklyn born here as well in prospect lefferts garden area this place has changed like crazy feels like park slope now. Went to college in downtown Brooklyn Jay St.

Usual story: someone moves to NYC from Kansas or whatever, lives in the city for a year and then claims to be an expert. @@samahamara8543 pretty mediocre your income has to be 4X the rent to live decent and good. If you're rent is 2000 a month yearly 24,000, your income should be atleast 60,000-80,000 as your rent alone would be 1/3, 1/4. Factor in student debt, car payments, bills etc. you see why only when you're making a lot money can you true live comfortably. I'm not here to shit on rich people or people who do have a lot of money but its ridiculous that people think it must be a dream living here when in reality if you're not upperclass its a nightmare. In the end, you will always worry about rent, bills, debt and so on, take my word it aint worth it.

Three times the price means that in order to afford the same thing, you'd need to work three times as much. That's 30 hours a week vs. 90 hours a week. Of course that isn't necessarily the case, so what frequently happens is that people spend way too large of a percentage of their income on rent, which prevents them from doing other things in life.
