I'm from Texas... so the idea of spending 1100 a month on a apartment this tiny is absolutely mind boggling.... HOWEVER, what you've done with such a tiny amount of space is incredible. It has the essentials and you have a safe space to sleep. It's your home, and you should be proud. It looks fantastic!

Like Andrew, I'm from Texas too. I'd never even spend $1100 for an apartment that small, like a storage space. I live on the Gulf Coast close to Houston and live in a one bedroom apartment of about 650 square feet. I'm paying around $775 a month and even that's overpriced.
I like how you have things arranged in your apartment because they seem to flow well. You have things stored that you don't use much which is a good idea. That $1100 sounds about right for prices I've seen listed on hostels and hotels in NYC.
We do the best with what we have whether it's our apartments, vehicles or anything else.
I like that tree I can see through that window. It looks like a good neighborhood where you live.
      Don't worry about the critics.

Well the advantage is he has the whole of NYC just outside his door, he can just go and well do things he doesn't have to drive for hours to go to a cool restaurant, or to see an exhibit or to get to work everyday. Life is a trade off of compromising on some things for the things that are important to you and that looks different for everybody.

If you look at some Korean apartment tours they are just as small but you can store so much more! Everything is storage! Watching your video is a testimony to the relativity of life. Someone who lives in a 2 or 4 or 10 million dollar mansion might feel they had been thrown into a jail cell, while someone in Africa living in a mud hut with no electricity or running water might feel they had a mansion. As I have gotten older, I have learned to be thankful for what I have, and let go of aspirations of greatness. @prissilou. I agree. It's a matter of degree. We have a grotty house which is like a box but I am so greatful we have a roof to shelter and a couple of small bedrooms to rest our head and 4-5 other spaces (small rooms). The only thing I think is really bad on this video is that people have to share a bathroom and that the sink is so tiny and not like a normal kitchen sink and looks more like a handbasin in a toilet. This guy is well organised though and he has made it look good and I really like that he is content.
One of my sons rents a one bedroom place and he has it looking so good. He has great flair for keeping things tidy, clean, and rather amazing with a few bits of furniture and his few possessions. He regularly purges things.
Some young guys are way better housekeepers than I could ever be. My son has a kitchen, sitting room with small deck, good sized bedroom, and bathroom/shower/toilet room in one.
I think unless you were a young fit person like this nice young guy, one could get some claustrophobia there if they couldn't go out much.

Having a space of your own is so important, and if you lived with roommates, your bedroom wouldn't be much bigger than this anyway (prices in NYC are insane right now), and you'd have no privacy. It amazes me that New York Ciiy occupancy laws still allow communal toilets. As a life long New Yorker ,I was always told communal toilets were features of " old law "tenement buildings that were outlawed in the early 20th century. Something you only saw in the NYC Tenement Museum. In the 70's in NYC, this would have been an "SRO"- single room occupancy and not considered to be an apartment. It's a shame what landlords and rental companies do to take advantage of younger folks in trendy neighborhoods with inflated rents and no bathrooms.

Superb video, man! Love the apartment! So what if it’s on the small side? You’ve made it into something that works for you and that’s to be applauded. My first apartment here in Southern California 25 years ago was only 300 square feet. Had a Murphy bed for which I had to move the recliner out of the way every night in order for the bed to come out of the wall. My kitchen was an aisle - literally! Had a dorm-sized refrigerator that had no freezer in it except for an ice cube tray compartment which would hold, at most, two frozen dinners. That fridge was smaller than the one you have! It is what it is. You make do with what you have. Someday you’ll have a bigger place with more stuff in it. Great video overall, and I loved the tour! 👍

@@cynthiacavallaro7152 Hello Cynthia, thank you so much for your humbling words which meant the world to me. Somehow we as people seem to be missing praising the real (heros) the people who try, who create and project good examples and use nothing but positivity in their messages. I'm so sick and tired of all the arguments these days by people on ALL sides as they are ALL equally as bad as each other. It's all about who shouts the loudest or who is better than the other but have you realised it's all about their power and not about the power for the ordinary people of which the powerful are too -ordinary that is? Their ways as said are just as bad as the people they stamp their feet and shout about and most have gotten there for their love of money, power and ill gains. This gentleman in his simple and humble little video has shown more strength , positivity and gratitude than all these channels getting thousands of followers which perpetuate aggression. So to me I am standing up for simplicity. Could you imagine people hearing this his kind of humble content because to me there are no sides to it, just straightforward good content, relayed peacefully, which actually has a powerful tone which the host Abonaax was not even aware of but actually shows exactly what kind of human being he is - a good person. No greed, no malice, no blaming or shaming, just humbleness and GRATEFUL and living within his means. To me I always relay this 'I MIGHT NOT HAVE EVERYTHING I WANT BUT I HAVE EVERYTHING I NEED' and that is where humility starts. People have lost that, but this gentleman showed humility. Priceless and a precious trait. To me that is the middle ground. Thank you SO MUCH for seeing it too. If we cloned people like you, Liz and Abonaax we would be on our way to living a better existence. Many blessings to you and your family. Psyche 🌹
