    They call it the packing district because they are packing them into mid-rise boxes.

    Happy that you are showing some of the older parts of town..I lived in collage park for years and it’s a great part of town. Like living in a small town in the middle of a city. Orlando is developing in a fantastic way!

      The city is nearly unliveable.....the traffic is worse than south Fla, with I-4 under continual construction....and entire neighborhoods being levelled for new interchanges and expansion....anything affordable is gone because the city sold out to developers who only build for the well-to-do and rich....try finding affordable houses and rentals now....extremely rare.

    A little scary.... would like to keep some of our land open. And not have all of the roads packed. The roads through those areas arent really made for so much. Too crowded. Also don't want to lose all of our trees and wild life. Tough situation.

    Ken I love my City but boy do I hate Narcoosee from 417 to 192. City has to figure out a way to limit the congestion by the 3 schools that get out back to back to back. If SunBridge is going to be the next Lake Nona they had better make another entrance (not sure where ) other than the one off Narcoossee. City is growing faster then the infrastructure. I’ve loved out their way for 9 years and I’m seriously considering my where I will be moving next On this video I grew up near hour glass district and remember washing my first car at the car wash in the corner of bumby…. Good memories.

    I used to come to Orlando from Miami A LOT and really liked it. Never imagined I'd choose it to move to after retirement but figured it'd be more economical and family friendly. BOY was I WRONG! If I would've known last year what I know now, I would've never moved here. I'm all for updating what's already there. But there should really be a law against how much these corporations have been ravaging the natural land. It's SO sad. I actually moved with the intent of buying a new build bc my contamination OCD makes it really hard for me to buy a "used" house. But after seeing the magnitude of the destruction of the beautiful landscape and ecosystem here, I've opted to buy an older home and just renovate it. IF I ever get over paying these RIDICULOUSLY inflated prices to live in Orlando! Who would've thought 🙄

    • @BrownsBacker
      @BrownsBacker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When I moved to Orlando in 1979, between Orlando and Disney were orange groves....now it is all asphalt....that isn't progress, it's a denigration of the land . The workers of the theme parks can no longer afford to live near where they work.

    • @BronxFinest2481
      @BronxFinest2481 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrownsBacker that's so sad. I heard that there was a time when you'd drive to Clermont and the air smelled like oranges. That must've been nice!

    Do you know some cheap really cheap land for sale in the northern part of mid-northern part of Florida where I can get 50 acres or more for Mega cheap to use as a multi-use any ideas where to start looking

  • @BrownsBacker
    @BrownsBacker 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    No! This is what is destroying Orlando....turning it into Miami isn't a positive! All these "options" aren't designed for those who work in the service industry, that has fueled the overblown and destructive explosion of high end rental and housing in Orlando. How can you say this is good, when the majority of the workers will soon not be able to live in the area??? I'm sure the conservatives will lament the "laziness" of the workers, and NOT the greediness of the major employers who fail to pay a wage for their workers to be able to live anywhere near their jobs. I moved away from Orlando 10 yrs ago and haven't regretted it, other than being further away from my daughter and granddaughter......I originally moved to Orlando in 1979...and it was an affordable area....now it is trying to rival Miami as an unaffordable middle class area and become a bastion of the rich. This is NOT to be celebrated, but mourned....as Orlando becomes a place the workers who provide the wealth for corporate CEOS can no longer afford to live in. SHAME!!!!

      @@inboxnews I mentioned corporations, very profitable ones, who refuse to pay their employees wages to afford the overinflated rents in Orlando....that isn't political, it's a fact. I didn't mention anything about politics.... it's economic...and when the Uber rich squeeze out the workers, you have a very unbalanced and miserable place to live.
