  • What will the Orlando of the future look like? The Orlando Economic Partnership put out a report in 2019 around what Orlando will look like in 2030. From the jobs, the migration, and infrastructure. We're 2 years into that plan with a pandemic and a massive shift in economics. So how's that plan coming along? I'll dive into the report and give my predictions for the future!

I’m a 50 year old Florida Native. I have seen the property taxes rise steadily over the last several years to where it’s getting ridiculous. I believe that we are going to see a State Tax soon to help with building Schools and paying teachers and other State employees. There has always been road construction and there will always be road construction. Tennessee seems to be the new place. I remember in the 2008 crash so many residents left Florida and went to North Carolina and Tennessee. I have noticed insurance going up here also. The cost of living requires a really good job or two incomes.

@@sharonlynnbartlett4301 Forget the public education piece, kids need to go into private schools. Skip the nice cars and new TV’s and spend your money on private schools and lets keep the taxes as low as we can. The government education model is a disaster.

It’s so hard being a multi generational local that both enjoys the perks of living here but also hurts at the rapid development that is taking away the natural beauty of our area. It has to happen, even needs to, but boy, the pain of seeing a favorite pasture, grove or stand of trees bulldozed and replaced with miles of identical house clones? Breaks my heart.

As a former Orlando resident, it’s crazy to see how much Orlando has grown even in the past decade or so and there’s still so much potential that’s being tapped too. As others have said, I feel like the Brightline extension is going to be a game change to truly make a trip to South Florida (or vice versa) a more reasonable day trip.

4:57 Miami is a house of cards. Its all superficial with either low-productivity repetive jobs (which will be oused by automation) or meaningless office work. Think job titles that dont mean anything but only exist to add warm bodies to the companies staff. The rest is all about partying pleasure and "fun". There isn't much industry in SoFLo. BUT CeFlo is a whole nother ball game. An economy grows with productivity, and if you have productive industries like health care, manufacturing/engineering, and aerospace than man, MARK MY WORDS. CeFlo will be the next miami, especially because we have a big tourist industry. Its like having everything that makes miami fun, but with the addative of economic security.

I lived there all the 90's Orlando can't get their traffic under control still and the cost of housing is skyrocketing. Dallas is a better option a lot of their road expansion is done and they have major light rail to ease traffic. Cost of living is not terrible either. I enjoyed the time I was there I lived right downtown near Lake Eola. Could not afford to live downtown now.

I’ve lived in Kissimmee near the Lake Nona area since I was 2 years old. The growth has been absolutely wild and I’m always excited to see what’s coming next but I will say the gentrification of some of these lower-opportunity areas is not something I’d like to see continue on to 2030. I remember when my middle school had to add a bus stop on 192 for the many students who were living in those motels. After the recession, everyone’s house/condo was bought up and rented back to them at a price they couldn’t afford. Turning a low income apartment building close to downtown into “The Flats at Sodo” and doubling the rent just because a Starbucks no one asked for was built nearby is just sad. I hope more is done for the people being priced out of the areas they grew up in or came to when immigrating from their home country. Love the videos, Ken. Excited to see some more Sunbridge content as more pops up out there.

Excellent video! As I have stated before I hope in the near future I hope the rumours are true and we get to look forward to seeing Disney build a 6000 home gated community in Sunbridge Florida. Anything that Disney has done when it came to real estate like their Celebration and the Golden Oak community are build to perfection. Think about a build the Disney 55+ neighbourhood similar to Golden Oak and/or Celebration with the same top builders but with a single level floor plans similar to The Villages in Florida's Designer Homes and Premier Homes would be amazing.

I'm sitting tight in Falcon Trace (the poorer version of Hunter's Creek). However, I really dislike how small my lot is - so as soon as the supply chain nonsense eases up and construction costs normalize again - I'll be looking to relocate further out. I'm former Disney cast member but now fully remote. I want to remain within easy driving distance to Orlando, the parks, and the airport but want some elbow room - perhaps an acre+ lot with a big house (3500sf or more). I'd sell now but I'd lose my shirt while trying to line something else up in the area. Considering just buying land. I only need access to high speed Internet. My home has nearly doubled in value since I bought 6 years ago (according to Zillow), so that's nice.

Not just education Ken, but public infrastructure and public transport. All the houses, townhouses, condos going up needs to accommodate a state-of-the-art public transportation system to match the population boom.
Also, I'd like to retain some of the lands for parks and wildlife. I live on the Space Coast and think that it's awesome to be driving out for coffee and see manatees and dolphins as I cross the Pineda Causeway.
I grew up in Los Angeles in the 80s and 90s when all of the developers came in and swallowed up all of the land for workspaces and homes, condos and townhomes, and trust me it'll become a miserable place if there isn't a good balance of parks, nature areas, public transport.

As always some interesting insights. Not 100% accurate but interesting all the same. Personally, I see a gigantic piece of information missing in the details. The huge amount of billions of foreign dollars quietly moving out of here and being replaced by the young and all too often naïve next generation of investors. That should be something to watch. @@kenpozek I'm noticing plenty of " older " clients from Europe ,and especially Canada, are packing up and selling. Many having generated high profits since the start of Covid. Catch being it took them 20+years to generate that level of profit. Personally I appreciate that in their own countries growth like that is near impossible. As a result many newly retired families reckon having had extended vacations for two decades + doubling on the value of your vacation home is a good thing. My sad point is the next generation of younger buyers illogically assuming they'll double their profits in under 5 years. What a fallacy. Mind you , I have always argued never say never. After all, what other investment comes with a sun tan ?
