    It’s not rubbing now but I think it will once the lift settles a little and if you hit a speedbump or pothole it will hit in my opinion. I may sound stupid but that’s just what I’m guessing based off my experience off my 5 inch lifted 2018 F-150

      What you speak is truth. Your gonna lose -25”-.5” of life. Your gonna rub a whole lot in places off-roading in the places you’ve gone stock.

      Kenny Zaidner I'll be sure to update if there is any rubbing issues, normal driving it's good, but offroad I need to see if it's close or not.

    • @damado26
      @damado26 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, usually if you're going to do any offroad, it's best to put the larger tires on before a lift so it's easier to see where you'll rub and can cut as needed. When you offroad, the suspension will compress even more than with no lift, so you'll rub even more than without any lift. Offset also has a lot to do with it. The more NEGATIVE offset, the more rubbing when close to or at full lock. Positive offset can help avoid rubbing, but you have to be careful not to hit the UCA. High caster can also help, but just a little. This is all unless you have a lift kit with travel limiters. But then people who get travel limiters aren't really into offroading. You want as much travel as possible offroad.

      @@BrosFOURRSpeed just as a fair warning I have a 2016 Tacoma as well and had a 3 inch lift and 33s put on and no rubbing at first. but when they compressed the suspension at my off road shop the upper control arm will move out more and hit the tire. it may be a little different for your truck since you have different tires but I just wanted to give you guys a heads up. love the look of the truck. keep up the great work.

    What offset did you go on your rims and what exact size are your Nitto's. I have some 285/70/17 coming in with a Fuel D648 with a -12 offset and I have a 3 inch lift front and back. I hope they do not rub. Why don't you like spacers?

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The wheels in this video had an 18x9 +10 offset with a 33x12.5 tire. My next set was 17x9 0 offset with a 285/70/17 and didn't have any rubbing until I added the 1.25' spacer. I had the spacers on for awhile until I went up to 34's. Spacers are ok if you do it right and calculate for the offset of the wheels so it's a good setup. With the -12 you have, you may have some slight trimming to do, but it shouldn't be anything crazy. Possibly the CMC maybe, but maybe not!

  • @sethglenn9022
    @sethglenn9022 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Its one thing to test for rub on a flat garage floor. But you will still have to do some trimming to prevent rubbing on uneven ground. You can get away with however little space you have at the control arm. But do not get rid of them or alignment will be nearly impossible. You can use the camber adjustment in the control arms to make more space between the tire and the UCA at the alignment shop.
    If you plan to use a spacer, get hub centric spacers, also consider longer wheels studs because the Toyota has short studs and you cant achieve proper thread engagement in the lug nuts.
    Truck looks great though. 22x12s would have been cooler 😏

    • @BrosFOURRSpeed
      @BrosFOURRSpeed  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was actually almost a perfect setup. Only aggressive off road with the wheels fully turned, it would barely hit the cab mount. But not enough to need any trimming.

  • @topnotch1386
    @topnotch1386 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    You will be fine going down the road and turning unless there’s a bump or off camber turn. But you can always fix that with a heat gun and work the wheel well liners up front. If you’re doing a lot of off roaming they make cab mount cut kits for the backside of the front wheel wells.

    Automotive engineers have designed and programmed new truck
    for a specific tire size. You changed tires. What about gearing, rolling
    resistance and down graded breaking. It will cost more to replace tires increasing operation costs. A smart. hoover would have been to save money and stay with stock.
